25.01.2022 Health Alert Six new cases of COVID have been confirmed at a youth detention centre, seven including the initial case. It is expected that this number will rise with test results still being received. Contact tracing is underway. One school in Springwood is already closed for cleaning.... There are also two confirmed cases on a cargo ship. They are in quarantine and not a risk to the community. The Queensland Premier has brought in new restrictions for parts of Southeast Queensland. Effective immediately: Gatherings in your home, a limit of 10 people only. Gatherings outside including parks are limited to 10 people. Venues and events with Covid safe plans may continue. These restrictions are for the following areas Brisbane Ipswich Logan scenic Rim lockyer Valley Moreton Bay and Redlands and are effective immediately. To everyone outside of the above areas, in home visitors numbers are limited to 30 people and also to 30 people outdoors (for example parks). The greatest concern is that these people who are COVID positive have been out and about in the community not knowing they were unwell or contagious. All aged care facilities are now immediately in lockdown. The suburbs that those who have tested positive to COVID-19 live are as follows: Marsden Springwood Carindale North Ipswich Ipswich hospital Forest Lake Additional fever clinics will be setup in SEQ and public health alerts will be issued in days to come. Stay home if you are sick, even with mild symptoms and be tested, wash your hands and distance yourself from others.

22.01.2022 Asalaamu Alaikum and Good Morning, Dear parents and care givers, It is with great appreciation that we commend our community on the measures being taken to maintain the safety of all. However we cannot become complacent. It takes each and every one of us to continue to remain vigilant and maintain precautionary measures to prevent the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. Anyone who visited the places in the link following must get COVID- 19 testing done immediately. https://bi...t.ly/2X7le3p We will continue to take extra precautionary measures and we are asking for a renewed effort to keep our community safe: If you or your family are unwell, are being tested, or have travelled, you must isolate, follow Qld Health instructions and notify ICB ASAP. Even if your child has a negative result, your student should not return to school with any cold/flu symptoms. No coughs, colds, runny noses, sore throats or fever. Please be aware that visitors to your home or family event, may be coming from areas that are being hit with the second wave of Covid-19 cases. These hot spots change all the time. Isolate if necessary. Our College has been active in contacting families that have travelled, also any students with symptoms, and following up on those students to ensure they have been sent for testing. Any person entering the school grounds MUST sign in at reception. Whilst we are limiting contact with our parents and community, persons who need to access the uniform shop, collect their child from the nurse or have an arranged meeting, must follow this procedure. This is critical for us in meeting requirements and maintaining currency of our tracking records. All persons collecting students from the college MUST remain in their cars. Please do not park and walk to the Pick Up Bays, or congregate in carparks as this places all of us at risk. All activities at school where parents would have participated have now been cancelled and it will be enforced until further notice. The College remains committed to keeping the community safe and needs your help. Remember that physical distancing, hand washing and staying home when you are sick, are important factors in keeping COVID-19 at bay. We need to keep our homes and workplaces as safe as possible. Please follow the advice of our Health Officers and the Qld Health Department. Your assistance and cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

22.01.2022 Karawatha Green upgrade started as promised. State of the art Futsal and Netball area complete with AstroTurf and fencing will be ready for Term 1 2021 InshaAllah

21.01.2022 Asalaamu Alaikum and Good Morning Dear parents and care givers, ICB management and the College Health Action Team would like to thank you all for your support during this Covid-19 time. Your assistance with keeping sick students at home, notifying us when someone appears to be unwell, where you have been traveling or if you have had interstate visitors, is much appreciated. It is also wonderful to see our staff also following the Chief Health Officers directives and staying ...home when they are sick, getting tested and communicating with our Covid-19 Health Action Team. As an extra precautionary measure we are asking for a renewed effort to keep our community safe: If you or your family are unwell, are being tested, or have traveled, you must isolate, follow Qld Health instructions and notify Mr Muamar. Even if your child has a negative result, your student should not return to school with any cold/flu symptoms. No coughs, colds, runny noses, sore throats or fever please. Please be aware that visitors to your home or family event, may be coming from areas that are being hit with the second wave of Covid 19 cases. These hot spots change all the time and currently all of Victoria is considered a hot spot. Fairfield, Campbelltown and Liverpool in NSW are also considered hot spots. Please continue your social distancing, hand washing and be aware of who is in your home and where they may have traveled from or which suburbs they may have traveled through. Isolate if necessary. Our College has been active in contacting families that have traveled, also any students with symptoms, and following up on those students that have been sent for testing. This is a huge job and requires quite a few phone calls to check on siblings and past travel plans. Thank you for taking our phone calls. Keep up that communication with the College and let the admin know if you or your family have traveled or been in contact with a possible case. The College remains committed to keeping the community safe and needs your help. Remember that physical distancing, hand washing and staying home when you are sick, are important factors in keeping Covid 19 at bay. We need to keep our homes and workplaces as safe as possible. Please follow the advice of our Health Officers and the Qld Health Department. Eid Mubarak and stay safe ICB Management

17.01.2022 CELEBRATING OUR STAFF As part of our World Teacher's Day celebrations we put a staff praise wall up in the common staffroom so that we could celebrate all of our wonderful staff here at ICB.

16.01.2022 We can’t have a state of the art building without modern teaching tech. Classrooms are fitted and tech installations done.

16.01.2022 ICB marks Qld Mental Health Week - Looking after our wellbeing We started with an early morning walk for staff and senior students through Karawatha Forest followed by a fully catered breakfast. (Thanks to Aisha and her staff for the early start and the fabulous spread!) We also shouted all at ICB free ice cream cones, because sometimes small things can have a big impact on our mood and wellbeing. And everyone LOVES ice cream.... We also wore odd shoes to recognise that everyone has "odd" days every now and then.

15.01.2022 Assalamou Alaykum, Wr. Wb. and good morning, Firstly a BIG thank you to the parents, staff and caregivers who have been supporting our Covid safe processes. Our Covid Health Action Team and college management have a number of responses and processes in place to maintain infection control standards. The College has implemented the following to keep staff, students and visitors safe: Students who are unwell will be sent home and testing for Covid is requested. Your student ma...y only return to school with a negative result, which must be provided to the College prior to attending class. The student must not return to school with any symptoms and/or without a negative Covid result. If you should choose not to have Covid testing completed, your child is to isolate at home for 14 days. This is not negotiable. If you have been in a location that is considered a hotspot or is an area of known contact (visited by Covid positive cases), the College requests that you are tested and that you and your family self-isolate for 14 days. Again, the student must not return to school with any symptoms and/or without a negative Covid result. We wish to advise our community, that the College received information regarding students who have visited areas and locations known to be visited by Covid positive cases. These students were withdrawn from class immediately and sent home for testing and self-isolation for 14 days. Each of the class rooms and contact areas has been deep cleaned. The Health Centre has also been deep cleaned overnight in response to the large number of sick children visiting. The cleaning of the Health Centre is essential due to the location being high risk as students are often waiting for extended periods of time. This increases the risk of any possible transmission. We continue to encourage our staff to be vigilant and send unwell students to be assessed. We also ask our greater community to advise us of any known or possible contact with Covid positive cases and hotspots. The College management and staff appreciate your full assistance and support in keeping our community safe. Please see the attached link for updated information regarding locations for contact tracing: https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing

14.01.2022 Congratulations ICB U14 girls team on coming runners up in the South East Qld School Futsal Titles.

14.01.2022 It is great news that the numbers of COVID-19 infections seem to be stable and not increasing at this time, however, we are being asked to be vigilant. Physical distancing, hand washing and staying home when we are sick are very important factors in our world now. Please do not send your children to school if they have any symptoms. We are being asked to follow the Queensland Government information as below:... In Queensland, anyone who has fever (or history of fever) OR acute respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, shortness of breath) should be tested. Children may also experience other symptoms, such as runny nose, headache, loss of smell, loss of taste, nausea or vomiting, muscle pain, joint pain, fatigue, diarrhoea, or a loss of appetite. Symptoms can vary depending on each case. If your child has any symptoms, you can visit your nearest COVID-19 testing centre or fever clinic. If you are unsure, or if your child has a sudden onset of any COVID-19 symptoms, you should contact your local doctor, hospital Emergency Department, or call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84). Before going to your GP clinic, please call ahead and tell them about your childs symptoms so they can prepare for your visit. If youre visiting your local Emergency Department or Fever Clinic there is no need to call ahead. https://www.childrens.health.qld.gov.au/covid-19/

14.01.2022 Year 12 Graduation and Celebrations On Friday we gave a final farewell to our Class of 2020. We wish them every blessing as they move into a new phase of their journey.

14.01.2022 Traveling? Have you been to a hotspot? What happens if a place you have been to in the last 14 days has been declared a hotspot? Or you have had visitors from a recently declared hotspot? You should get COVID-19 tested as soon as possible and then immediately self-quarantine.... It is important to remember that we are all in this together. The pandemic is far from over. We need to rapidly respond to outbreaks by testing and self-quarantining, so we can stop the spread.

13.01.2022 We would like to congratulate the ICB secondary students that made it through to the playoffs of the League of Legends QLD High School Championship 2020. This is the first time we have entered the competition and the students have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and mateship of working as a team. We got knocked out of the playoffs, but this has not deterred our students and they are already campaigning about how to do even better next time.

06.01.2022 Dear parents and care-givers Asaalamualaikum and welcome back, Term Three has started with lots of enthusiasm from staff and of course, our well rested students. It is hoped that the holiday provided some much-needed relaxation after the previously disrupted term. ICB continues to plan for the health, wellbeing and safety of our students and staff. To keep in line with Queensland Government recommendations our College Health Action Team met to discuss our Covid Safe Planning ...for the next 2-4 weeks. In light of recent events along with increasing Covid-19 numbers interstate and with the relaxation of some restrictions in Queensland, we felt it necessary to outline the continuing strategies for our community. Safety measures: Parents must remain in their cars for drop off and pick up. Gathering to chat or wait for children is not compliant with our Covid Safe Plan. Parents must not enter the school grounds except by appointment and must visit the administration building to sign in. This is important information used for contact tracing, security and protecting our staff and students. If you are visiting the uniform shop, you must also sign in at reception. Without a visitors tag, you will not be served. If you need to speak to a teacher please do so via email or telephone. Visits to the classroom without an appointment are prohibited. Sick children and staff are to stay at home. If you, as a parent are unwell, please do not attend the school for any reason. If your child has any cold or flu symptoms, no matter how mild, they will be asked to go home. They may also be asked to have testing completed. Your child is not allowed to return to school until a negative result is received by the college. Giving Panadol or Nurofen to reduce a fever, does not make your child better. They may still be contagious and should not be at school. If your family has been in contact with a possible covid-19 case, you (and your family) must isolate for 14 days and follow testing advice until you receive a negative result or clearance. Please provide a copy to the College. If your family has contact with a confirmed case, you will be asked to quarantine for 14 days and follow Qld Health instructions. Please notify the College if this occurs. Traveling to identified hotspots, or being visited by someone from a hotspot also means that you will be required to quarantine for 14 days. Currently all of Victoria is considered a hotspot. Other known outbreak areas, for example Casula in NSW, requires further advice from Qld Health or your doctor. Strict hand washing and physical distancing are encouraged between staff, students and visitors or contractors. The college is encouraging staff to keep windows open, provide space between students where possible and is continuing with additional cleaning measures. Thank you for supporting us in our endeavours to keep the College community safe and Covid free. ICB Management See more

02.01.2022 On Thursday, the Year 6 students of ICB had their first taste of High School with the annual Transition day being held. The day started with students being given a rundown of High School by the Yr 7 Coordinator and enjoyed a small morning Tea with their Yr10 ''Buddies'' to help ease the nerves of coming to into High School. The student were then involved in class rotations for the afternoon to give them a sneak peek into what they should expect next year. They drew ferocious... dragons in Art, saw a spectrum of colours in Science, gave orders to a tiny robot in STEM and let out their frustrations with a game of Dodgeball in HPE.
