19.01.2022 Along with increasing numbers in the Mites and U14 divisions - you may have noticed a bit of an increase in the times for periods on a Wednesday night. The Mites division games now run for 10min each period (so 6min more in playing time), and for a couple terms now the U14s increased to 14min periods from 12. We are aiming to keep to the same time frames though, so that our U17s and everyone involved don't end up having an even later night than normal. To help out we can get the Mites on the ice a few minutes before 6:30pm to start their warm-up, and the intermissions between the periods will be 60-90 seconds. Apart from a quick bit of advice between periods, kids will notice the coaches will come tap them on the shoulder on the bench to offer some advice during play/between whistles.

16.01.2022 A massive congrats to John Greene who got the first ever shut out in Darwin’s Senior Ice Hockey League. He has come very close previously losing the shut out in the last 90 seconds of a game. This time however, success !!!! Well deserved Greene

10.01.2022 In light of the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in SA we would like to remind everyone to stay vigilant when it comes to keeping each other safe. The NTIHA and Darwin Ice Skating Centre work hard to keep you all safe while enjoying our sport and we ask you all do the same. If you have traveled from SA to Darwin since Midnight Friday 13th November we ask you not to attend any game either as a spectator or participant. We also remind you that should you be suffering any cold or flu type symptoms that you should stay home and follow directions from the CHO.

05.01.2022 We have been so fortunate here in Darwin. The effects of Covid-19 have been minimal in comparison to our southern counterparts and we have been able to continue to enjoy our sport with community support and spirit. Unfortunately our fellow hockey lovers in Melbourne haven’t been as lucky. The guys at iceHQ have come up with a fantastic way to support their hockey community. A number of our Darwin skaters have had the pleasure of being a part of the iceHQ community in the past and we hope will have the opportunity again in the future. Some great prizes on offer so if you are able please show some support for our friends down south.
