25.01.2022 Happy Friday !!! Dropdecks into production next week First round liveries will be announced shortly.... These have been in the works for quite some time getting little tweaks and adjustments and without further adu....here it is. Both the tri-axle dolly and trailer are all metal/zinc material with ABS/chrome plated wheels Rubber tyres Working suspension Screw down landing legs Working ramps with replica hydraulics. Removable front rack/gate King pin and Ringfeder road train coupling is compatible with a Drake dolly also Full rubber flexi-guards on the dolly Extendable function. I’ve had a few a few attempts with this one getting the sliding mechanism working smooth. Happy with it now. Enjoy the pictures. There will be lots of popular liveries to be done up with this one. 22.01.2022 Hi there . Below are some spider wheel fitting instructions: I have fitted these wheels to various 1/50 scale makes and models and they are easily adaptable to ALL brands.... Ive noted some tools that are needed also. Small pliers Small Phillips Pick/pin punch Heat torch Tweezers Hobby knife Drill (3mm- 1/8) Bench vise with alloy soft jaws Most or all of these tools are readily available at Bunnings or your local two dollar shop and are really affordable. Please follow directions under the pictures. 19.01.2022 So I took a little drive down to North Shore today which is just North of Geelong , Victoria for those who dont know. Klos Bros have their factory down there in St Georges Rd where they churn out some of best looking rigs on our roads....adding stainless panels and lights and fitting chrome parts and fuel tank wraps to the customers hearts content. The trucks that are worked on there generally have Klos mudflaps fitted , something you cant buy ..... it needs to roll thro...ugh KBs doors and have Justin and Turk and their team work some magic on it before it dons the black mudflaps with the cool Klos logo. Pride in the ride is top of the list. The model had to have them too !!!!! The brothers are both 100% hands on with Justin laying down pinstripes signs and lines the only way it should be done , with paint and a brush !!!! and Turk is an auto elec , busy fitting and designing parts for trucks and trailers. Both are more than happy to talk trucks all day , its their passion , it clearly shows on the trucks that roll out of there. Just some of the trucks below have had the Klos treatment. 17.01.2022 Factory update: The latest trucks are in production but have suffered some delays because of the virus outbreak. Nobody at the factory I use has been affected but some suppliers to the factory are still not allowed to commence work at their factories which does hold up things somewhat. www.iconicreplicas.com.au ... 11.01.2022 Ive been playing with these Murrells x 3 Linehaul Heavy haul Local haul ... I got the SISU hubs from a Drake 509. They look right at home on the back of the Cat powered Murrell G cab. Roof beacons and straight Donaldson air rams. I do prefer them over the roof Next the local banger. Not really sure if Murrells ran odd stud patterns , it was more an owner/driver thing however some fleets were set up like that. One wheel type requires you only have to carry a spare to suit that type of wheel. But many operators like the look of Alcoas on the steer and spiders on the drive axles. I just thought Id take the opportunity to thank each and everyone of you guys for your support during the year.... been bloody great and without you , theres no Iconic Replicas. www.iconicreplicas.com.au ... To you guys that are in the United States, youre going to notice different branding on the box. This is due to a really controlling so and so that left me no option but to rename my US arm of the company. Same products , different flag !!!! Now .... MURRELL FREIGHT LINES ..... The other day I took a road trip up to Wollongong to personally deliver some models to Murrell Freight Lines. Turning off the Hume onto Picton Road, I was confronted with two of their A doubles making their way from Port Botany to Murrells depot in Unanderra. Wow ....These things are stand out trucks..... On arrival I was greeted by Michael Murrell and his father Glen Murrell. Glen started Murrells back in the early 70s with one truck carting bricks ..... he loves a Caterpillar engine too !!! Glen also reckons you could throw more weight at Hallmark trailer than anything else back in the day Glens sons Matthew and Michael take care of the family name these days. As we chatted and walked around the depot, it was clear to see every piece of equipment that I looked at with the black and red paint is flash. Id seen these trucks on the road but up close , they are immaculately presented. With divisions in wharf cartage and all aspects of container/flat rack freight including unpack and AQIS certification , refrigerated , general and heavy haulage ..... theres not much they cant handle. Its also quite evident which badge the Murrells prefer .....KW. I also presented Michael and Glen with a case with mounted trucks in each. They were very appreciative. I make these myself apart from the acrylic and take great pride in them. Below are some snaps of just a few of the Murrell bangers . In particular this T659 with an A double (Road Train) stood out to me. What a truck !!! 03.01.2022 Hey guys , quick video update Heres a quick video from last week of the left hand side aluminium inner door trim being pad printed onto some Telfords Kenworths . As you can see there are multiple paint trays on the pad printing machine which allows a few different paint colours to be applied on the same side of the subject at once. ... On this occasion it is only needed once for this particular highlight. The clay fixture which the cab fits onto during the print process is held in place to make sure the paint hits the exact same spot each time. In this case , there are 250 Telfords models so this process is repeated 250 times for each side. Each paint process has a different paint mold for every side and each design. Every part of the truck that has painted highlights undergoes this process, so you can see that this isnt a procedure that is fast. It takes time to set up the machine and get the paint in the exact position. Have you ordered one ? If you like older styled traditional types of trucks then this is your model !!!
