Dr Palipana was the first quadriplegic medical graduate in Queensland, and was recently admitted as a lawyer. ... He's appeared as a witness to the Disability Royal Commission advocating for equitable treatment for people with disabilities through COVID-19, and has already been recognised as Junior Doctor of the Year and with an Order of Australia. Aunty McRose Elu took out the Queensland Senior Australian of the Year. She's an advocate for Torres Strait communities and climate change. Conservationists and Brothers Daniel and William Clarke won the Queensland Young Australians of the year for their work in protecting endangered orangutan populations. Both individuals are currently in jail and will face charges. Police have confirmed that any charges such as public fray, if proven, carry a jail term of up to 10 years. Other charges of using a carriage service to harass and offend are also serious crimes. If it is proven that the brawl was due to hate or any crime inciting intolerance, then there will be additional charges. This news comes after a late night meeting between local business owners from Harris Park and representatives of the Parramatta Police Area Command, when police confirmed that they have thrown considerable resources into fully investigating what happened in the lead up to the brawl, and on the night itself. On the night of Friday 28 August, some 200 Indians gathered in Harris Park and a fight organised on social media descended into a full brawl. Video vision of half a dozen rioters with cricket bats and iron rods have since been circulating on social media. The riot squad was brought in to disperse the crowds. The videos of the brawl shocked and angered many Indian Australians who were keen to see quick action from the authorities. More details to follow.

"Flying through the North Pole is very challenging and airline companies send their best and experienced pilots on this route. This time Air India has given responsibilities to a woman captain for the journey from San Fransico to Bengaluru via polar route," an Air India official said. AI Captain Zoya Agarwal, who will be commanding the flight, and her team is very eagerly waiting to create history on January 9. "Most people in the world will not see the North Pole or even its map in their lifetime. I feel truly feel privileged and humbled by the trust posed in me by the civil aviation ministry and our flag carrier. It is a golden opportunity to command a Boeing 777 inaugural SFO-BLR, one of the world's longest flight over the North Pole," Captain Zoya Agarwal told ANI. "I am extremely proud to have with me experienced women team comprising Captains Thanmai Papagari, Akanksha Sonawane and Shivani Manhas. This is the first time an all-women pilots team will fly over the North Pole and create a history of sorts. It's indeed a dream come true for any professional pilot," she added.
