[email protected] From: International Design Awards Applications Open for COVID-19 Design Innovation Grant Dear ideas - iftekhar + design associates, The global COVID-19 pandemic presents unprecedented challenges for creatives and designers. But it also provides a unique opportunity to come together as a community and use our talents and skills to make a positive impact. So we are introducing a special "COVID-19 Design Innovation Grant" in collaboration with our sister award European Product Design Award (ePDA), in support of global efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic. We will be awarding four grants: One $5,000 Grant for Product Design The ventilator is the difference between life or death for people with acute symptoms of COVID-19. We invite product designers to design ventilators or other life-saving equipment that can be produced at a cost of less than $1000. The winner will receive a $5,000 grant to produce their prototype. One $5,000 Grant for a collaboration between Architecture and Interior Design A big challenge facing many during this pandemic is isolating a sick person from the healthy members of their family when they have to remain under the same roof. This $5,000 grant will be for a simple, practical, innovative solution for an in-home isolation pod that would allow those with COVID-19 symptoms and others to safely co-habit without transmitting the virus. One $2,000 Grant for Graphic Design Our modern interconnected lifestyle has allowed COVID-19 to spread around the world at unprecedented speed, sending billions of people into lockdown as health services struggle to cope. We invite graphic designers and illustrators to submit their designs for a resource to help the public protect themselves, prevent spreading the virus to others, or deal with the psychological effects of isolation. One $2,000 Grant for Fashion Design As the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 continues to rise sharply, some health experts have begun suggesting that we should all be wearing masks of some kind. We invite fashion designers to create fashionable and reusable masks protective gear to help stop the spread of the virus.

18.01.2022 Australia is in great danger for Bushfire. This year even worst particularly NSW and Queensland and also few other states. Many property has been destryed and still more disasters are expecting. Designing a house in Bushfire prone area, Architect and Planner can advice what precaution they should take considering the BAL level. There are 6 Bushfire Attack Levels (BAL), these are; (From High to Low), BAL Flame Zone., BAL 40., BAL 29., BAL 19., BAL 12.5., BAL Low. Generall...y BAL low and BAL 12.5 has minimum or almost no impact. But if it is more than that it needs specialized method of design, selection of material and construction method. It also needs approval from Rural Fire Service (RFS) along with other approval Authority. Need to remember, the overall cost is more than standard house. So it is a good idea to collect enough inforamation about the land and its surrounding before proceed. Some time local council could be a good help for general information.. See more

10.01.2022 Sharing a house alterations and 1st floor additions about 15 years ago. I remember, it was a fibro house in dilapidated condition. The challege was, it needed to be done with minimum intervention. It was done very cost effective way by recycling space and material. Also the owner was living during 3 months construction .......steel look quite smart and fresh.

05.01.2022 Alterations and additions of a single storey house to double storey at Quekers Hill, Sydney. This is our first design and contruction project by Ideas Architects and builder is Build by Professionals.

05.01.2022 Sydneys New international airport design has been finalized. It is a consortium office of large Australian architects Cox Architecture and London based architects Zaha Hadid Architects. From Cox the principal design architect is David Holm. We worked together in few airports like current Sydney airport and Singapore airport Terminal 3. He has also visited and draw hand sketch of many cities including Dhaka.

01.01.2022 We want to share the admirable government initiative to address housing affordability and opening better investment outcome opportunities for NSW. This year in August NSW Government approved LOW RISE MEDIUM DENSITY GUIDE that allows well designed dual occupancies, manor houses and terraces (up to two storeys) to be carried out under a fast track complying development approval. A complying development Certificate, which is certified through a private certifier and not the Coun...cil, can be availed in 20 days, subject to State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008 (Codes SEPP) and Local Environment Policy (LEP). ideas Architects have already approved 3 duplexes in MacArthur Heights.
