23.01.2022 Open Mic Night - Friday 29th January 2021 MLSC's long tradition of supporting our talented members continues with our first Open Mic Night. For those new to the format, the nights start with our very young members at around 5pm with 3-5min performances and move to the more experienced at 7pm. Please send an email to Jacqui [email protected] with the Act's name, age and genre and be part of the fun (stand up comedians are most welcome). No need to bring a PA as the club will have one set up on the stage.

22.01.2022 Awesome surf session at Gunnamatta Ocean Beach on Saturday 13 June. It was a glorious day including an appearance of a pod of Whales. Thanks for the coaches, water safety, helpers, parents and athletes for making it a great day.

22.01.2022 A very successful Masters State Championships today for Mentone surf boat rowers at Lorne. Our Women's Team Riot won gold, the women in Team Martinis won silver and our men's Team Let it Run finished with a bronze in their first competitive outing. Go Mentone!!

14.01.2022 AGM | MONDAY 22 JUNE 2020 Dear MLSC members, I hope all members have been keeping well during this last month of isolation. These definitely are unprecedented times we are living in.... Behind the scenes as a club we have still been in constant contact with LSV, and assisting the emergency services frontline workers when required. Our AGM is on Monday 22 June 2020 at 7.30pm, most likely via video link. Until then you might be considering ways in which you can support your club. The club has a strong team of dedicated members who are working hard to ensure Mentone Lifesaving Club remains ahead of its field in offerings for our members. 12.01.2022 The Mentone Life Saving Club is happy to announce a benefit to raise funds for the Bush Fire Appeal this Friday night the 17th January 2020. Meals will be on as usual, please book through the website https://mentonelsc.com/summer-kitchen/ last orders 7pm and tables removed by 7:30pm. $5 door charge going straight to the Bush Fire Appeal. Performers are donating their time and equipment and Mentone Lifesaving Club will make a donation from bar sales. ... Come for dinner and stay to enjoy performances by INSTYNKT, whatshisface, Harley Luscombe, a nd DJ Ja ck Pyper. This event is likely to sell out so come early to avoid disappointment.

12.01.2022 Mentone LSC is delighted to announce that our very own Kate Bell is one of the women chosen by SLSA to be a mentor over the next 12 months in this program aimed at developing female leadership skills. Kate will continue to be the Chair of our new club Building Committee throughout this period and we are so lucky to have members so devoted to our club and the broader life saving movement. Thanks Kate.

11.01.2022 The Virtual Coolangatta Gold is Coming to Mentone LSC! The Coolangatta Gold organisers have made the race virtual this year so athletes can participate where ever they are. We will be running the Short Course Coolangatta Gold race at Mentone LSC as teams in late Oct early Nov in a Covid Safe manner. The course will be 10.5km ski (U17-Adult), 2km swim (U14-Adult), 3km board(U14-Adult) and 5.5km run (U12-Adult). If you are keen to participate or have questions please email [email protected] Deadline for EOI is 19 Sept. Once we have all athletes we will then select teams and register.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to our women rowers in Team Riot who won a Silver Medal this weekend at the National Surf Boat rowing championships. Mentone LSC was delighted to have two crews entered and even more delighted that they both survived some treacherous conditions at Mollymook, NSW. The eight women from Mentone who competed at Nationals are aged from 40 to 60 years old and they are a great example of the breadth of opportunity that is available at our club. Their success is due not only to solid training and team work but also to the skill of the sweep, Joe Bergin. Well done all of you.
