23.01.2022 It is astounding how many pre candidates ....or even those who sit for the test numerous times ...think it is all about learning a few tips ...that would be like visiting a gym and receiving tips and expecting to see changes without putting in the hard yards...IELTS is not about tips..it is a way of learning...only by active reading of print and online articles on a range of topics...listening to issues on radio, television and Internet and hopefully speaking to native speakers and actually practising writing in a variety of styles can results be seen..

22.01.2022 Ielts is not just a test..it is a way of learning...of learning a variety of skills primarily for academic study but also for general life skills... Skimming, scanning, predicting, vocabulary matching and identifying the gist of the sentence and the article. .analysis of the principal message and trends in a graph or diagram and identifying the opinion of the writer are some of the key skills in Reading and to some extent, listening..Being able to interpret exam questions acc...urately and to remain on track, answeing the question in an organised and coherent manner...how to write the introduction, the body and the conclusion in task 2 and how to include a balance of detail and ' big picture ' overview for task 1. . The use of correct style and register for writing formal and informal letters is a skill often overlooked for the General task 1. 05.01.2022 Have begun private lessons with various IELTS students already in prep for this week's test on Saturday...it is particularly important with Task 1 graphs and diagrams to have an overview...an overall descriptive picture of what the graph is actually trying to say..i.e. don't just write a step by step description of every detail but outline the trends and patterns in the graph and various elements which can be linked together..
