14.01.2022 We @ IGA Xpress, East Wahroonga would like to thank everyone who participated in last Saturdays "Oxfam Trail walker" charity BBQ held at the supermarket. With your help most needed funds were raised for the great cause and in doing so we all had great day filled with fun. The weather God was kind to us in springing the best possible day. At the end we gave away Brookfarm and Pukka tea hampers part of raffle draw for the event, I have attached the pictures of two lucky winners of the hampers filled with great goodies. Once again, your local IGA and Leah Miller, Oxfam Trail Walker would like thank and acknowledge the support given by all the members of wahroonga community for this fantastic cause.

13.01.2022 At todays presentation with IGA Australia at Royal North Shore Hospital we were joined by a very special guest - our Patron, television journalist Ray Martin A...M. Together, we presented Royal North Shore Hospitals Senior Staff Specialist in Neonatology Professor Martin Kluckow with a Giraffe Omnibed valued at $35,000 for the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. The Giraffe Omnibed is designed to mimic the womb environment for babies who are born prematurely. The Omnibed provides instant access to oxygen, humidification, ventilation and resuscitation when needed. It also protects the infant from stress such as light, touch and sound in a controlled thermal environment. This incubator is of critical importance in the Intensive Care Unit. This piece of equipment is one of 11 donations IGA retailers across NSW and ACT are making to provide much-needed equipment to hospitals to the value of approximately $150,000. IGA retailers and their teams have been involved with many schools, sporting and community organisations in Sydney for many years and we are proud to make this contribution to Royal North Shore Hospital. 03.01.2022 On this coming Saturday on 29 July 2017, we have organised a BBQ to help Leah Miller achieve something she is very passionate about, she is on a quest to raise funds for a very noble cause. Your local IGA press has thrown its support behind this worthy cause. We will be raising funds through gold coin donation by organising 8.00am BBQ in front of the IGA press, East Wahroonga. Please come with family and friends to support this great event. Below is a letter from Leah Miller ...an Oxfam ambassador. Dear East Wahroonga IGA customers and Wahroonga Residents; Im on a mission: to help you pay less tax this financial year. Actually, the tax deduction is more of a bonus. Mainly, the mission is to raise at least $7,000 for Oxfam. Im walking 100km, with three of my close friends, on one of Australias roughest endurance event courses, punctuated by only a brief stop every 10-15km to tend the blisters, grab a muesli bar and top-up the drink bottle. Its called Oxfam Trailwalker. Well do the walking, all you have to do is help with the real purpose (and justification) the bit about raising money for Oxfam. Without the fundraising, we cant do the walk. Cant prove to ourselves that we have what it takes mountains, heart, youthful exuberance, etc. Please help these four ordinary women.
