10.01.2022 It is hard not to be moved by the very sad news that Ann-Marie Smith, an Adelaide woman with cerebral palsy, died early April due to severe neglect by her carers. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends. Ms Smith lived alone and relied on a carer for all of her needs. If organisations and carers are prioritising the rights of people with disability, including the right to dignity and respect and to live free from abuse, exploitation and violence how could thi...s crime happen? Which part of the ‘system’ let Ann-Marie down? At Ignite Community Network we couple thorough policy and procedure with our Family Network approach to offer a very comprehensive level of safeguarding for the Individual. To read more about The Family Network approach click https://www.ignitecn.com.au/family-network/ We are committed to providing Individuals with the highest standard of service aimed at meeting individual need and promoting a sense of dignity, purpose and security.
