10.01.2022 RAD Australia recognises the importance of vigilance and safeguarding especially during this time of the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are monitoring government advice and notifications and are responding accordingly on a rolling basis. As this situation unfolds in Australia, we will continue to work with our global colleagues to respond to changes in advice as they happen, and we will continue to update Members and students as soon as possible. In the meantime, we r...ecommend the following measures be applied in our Members’ own studios. Ignite Dance Studio has already implemented the following. COVID-19 Hygiene procedures To ensure studios & environments are safe the following instructions apply, and RAD staff will: o Wipe down barres, equipment, door handles and props used with disinfectant wipes o Ensure availability of hand soap (antibacterial if possible) in bathroom and hand sanitiser in waiting areas and studios o Minimise contact during classes and waiting periods o Ensure studios have appropriate and additional cleaning procedures of the premises in place o Minimise the number of parents and visitors entering the studio. Only one parent to bring students up the stairs to class To ensure students are aware of the following through instruction and relevant signage: o Encourage regular hand washing and use of hand sanitiser o Ensure nose and mouth are covered by a tissue or into an elbow for any sneezing and coughing. Tissues disposed of immediately. o Do not share water bottles and all unclaimed water bottles will be disposed of. o To speak up if a student is feeling unwell o To not attend at all if a student is feeling unwell and to contact the principal immediately Final thought.... Please remember that as dancers we are probably some of the fittest members of community and remind students that continuing to maintain their training will ensure they are as healthy as possible should they need to fight off the virus at any stage. We are also reminded once again of the emotional value of artistic expression during times of stress, so we urge you to continue to dance, even if there is no one watching for a short time!
