03.01.2022 Depending on where it’s stated, it’s suggested that we have between 20k to 70k thoughts a day. Let’s say that over 24 hours, we have one thought per second, tha...t would yield 86,400 thoughts. If thoughts are restricted to 16 waking hours, the number would be 57,600. Regardless of the exact science, that’s a lot right?! I remember back in my early twenties being at a personal development event and I hadn’t noticed a mentor (who was the person who invited me to the event), had come up beside me. She whispered in my ear pssttt wake up you’re dreaming. What she meant by that was, most people ARE IN their thoughts and it’s fundamentally like being asleep, stuck watching and playing out this internal movie in our heads. With tens of thousands of thoughts a day, pretty much we are the ones being thunk day in, day out, through an endless stream of input from our memories, imagination and sensors. Over time these have resulted in our sense of what reality is our beliefs... and our beliefs create the broader paradigm that we exist in. Our beliefs filter our thoughts, some arise and fall, others are charged with emotion, that feeds back into our beliefs that fuels our thoughts, which fuels the emotion, in an ongoing feedback loop. This can be a pretty nasty loop if the thoughts that grab hold of our attention aren’t supportive of our wellbeing or where we’re attempting to focus our attention ie: work stuff, performing. I’ve been practicing meditation for the best part of the last 20 years and what I’ve learned as part of that practice is that you can bring your attention outside of the constant stream of thinking and in doing so, see that we aren’t those thoughts, we aren’t those emotions and we can change the beliefs that filter our reality. But there’s one key to it Being able to bring our attention outside of that loop. But, when we do, we can then start to use that same feedback loop for positive gain as opposed to negatively working against us. I’m going to share how we’re doing this utilizing technologies this coming Friday at 11am (AEST). A link to register is here - http://www.troyhaines.com/webclass34274518 PSST WAKE UP YOU’RE DREAMING

01.01.2022 We all know the state of the Cairns economy. Why do people deny the truth? I have been waiting for someone with a real vision to come forward and nominate for M...ayor. It seems none of the people with strong opinions are prepared to do so. I know there are issues around media bias, but surely someone with resources and energy is motivated enough to have a go.
