25.01.2022 Hi all its with a heavy heart that I tell you we are unable to run the extra round of the Championships in September. Three of the hosting clubs have tried get ...an event of the ground to fill the gap but were unable to run for a number of reasons plus one big one. So after Newcastle this weekend the next State round will be the SDMA event held on the October long weekend. See more

24.01.2022 Did some great reminiscing with Lionel Walker about our previously world famous 40 Bends Hillclimb at South Bowenfels Lithgow. He sent us some photos of his Jaguar XK competing there between 1966 and 1968.How amazing are they?Great days and great memories.Thank you so much Lionel.

24.01.2022 Thank you so much to Justin Henry of Henry Plant & Equipment Hire Lithgow for the semi trailer load of damaged Armco fencing. Does anyone know a good panel beater?

23.01.2022 It is with great sadness the Club informs members and supporters of the passing of Life Member Elizabeth Roberts after a long enduring battle with cancer. Liz was awarded Life Membership of the Lithgow District Car Club In February 1993 along with husband Bob and Steve Evans. Liz became Secretary of the Club after the sad passing of Yvonne Martyn in 1990 and held the position until she moved to the Hunter region in 1998.Please see the attached message for further information. Fly high Liz and Rest In Peace.

17.01.2022 To All NSW Hillclimb Championship Registered Competitors. I wish to advise that we have now submitted all documentation to motorsport Australia for approval and... issue of a permit for our round of the 2020 Championship. It appears we will still be operating under restricted guidelines, with changed processes in place, but I guess that is better than not having the event at all. We ask that you use the on-line Event Entry System where possible, it could be a few days before we are able to get it up and running, so please be patient. It is also our strong preference that you pay the entry fee by direct deposit into our nominated account. Dave Atkins MG Car Club (Newcastle) Inc. Club President -2020 Supplementary Regulations will be posted when approved.

14.01.2022 Motorsport Australia Resumption Strategy Motorsport Australia is committed to the safe and socially responsible resumption of motorsport in a COVD-19 environmen...t. The AIS Framework for Rebooting Sport in a COVID-19 Environment outlines three levels under which the resumption of sport can occur (Level A, B and C). Having reviewed the Government requirements and consulted with the Motorsport Australia National Medical Advisory Committee (NMAC) and other key stakeholders, Motorsport Australia has developed a Resumption Plan for its various motorsport disciplines to conform with the requirements set by Government. In the development of this Resumption Plan, two key points must be noted; 1. Motorsport is conducted outdoors with participants isolated in their vehicle. It is a non-contact sport. Whilst Level B Restrictions remain in place, passengers, co-drivers and navigators will not be permitted. It is acknowledged that separate plans may be developed, in consultation with Government and medical authorities, that would enable the resumption of activity that involves passengers, co-drivers and navigators. This will be the subject of a separate strategy. 2. Motorsport venues invariably comprise a large site area which provides event organisers with an opportunity to segregate groups of people to ensure that mass gathering requirements are met. If the event is likely to have more than 10 people attend in total, event organisers will need to work with their venue and Motorsport Australia on the development of a COVID-19 Venue Plan to ensure compliance with mass gathering requirements. Unless the co-driver, navigator or passenger is a member of the same household and the relevant event regulations allow passengers. 11.01.2022 Plenty of great memories here.

11.01.2022 CLUB LEVEL AND JUNIOR MOTORSPORT SUFFERS CRUEL BLOW The popular Whiteline Tarmac Rallysprint Series held over summer at the Sydney Dragway appears to have joine...d the long list of cancelled events in 2020, but not because of the current COVID pandemic. The event, organised by the North Shore Sporting Car Club, has had a key focus on the safe development of Junior drivers and driving skills and the Rallysprint series has run successfully for the last 8 years. Whilst the event is hotly contested by some of Australias leading drivers it is also extremely popular with beginners and junior drivers. The event even attracting support from a major vehicle manufacturer committed to the development of safe driving standards. However, yesterday the club was given with the disappointing news that the dates were no longer viable and there were no suitable alternatives for the coming season. Publicity had already begun and we had received several entries for the first round on the 8th of October, but at this stage the event will not proceed at its current venue said Brett Middleton, the President of North shore Sporting Car Club. Disappointingly, we also no longer have access to a grassed area leased from Sydney Dragway for holding Motorkanas and Gymnkanas. added Middleton. The grassed area will be used to re-locate excavations from extensions to the car park in the main Dragway complex. The club now hopes that through the support of the NSW Office of Sport and the Western Sydney Parklands Trust that it can recover and rebuild for the future. We hope for a solution to provide better access to club level motorsport within the new master plan for the motorsport precinct, concluded Middleton. Background: The Whiteline Tarmac Rallysprint series is a closed motorsport event held within the confines of Sydney Dragway, using the bitumen car parks and access roads. The Rallysprint series is held on Thursday nights, during the daylight savings summer months. Typically renting the venue at a time and day of the week that does not interfere with other events. The Rallysprint won the Best Motorsport event in NSW for 2019 at the Motorsport Australia annual awards and on average attracts over 450 entries per annum. Approximately half are either under 18 years old or motorsport beginners looking for a safe venue to learn driving skills. The event injects over $700,000 annually into the NSW motoring economy. The clubs other location started as an unused parcel of Dragway land that the Club developed for use as a successful junior Training facility for safer driving. Children and teenagers as young as 12 can safely learn to drive at this facility under the guidance of experienced motorsport mentors and governance of Motorsport Australia. The Sydney Dragway leases the land from the Western Sydney Parklands Trust.
