25.01.2022 Weight Loss ..... Fat Loss The scale telling you one thing then another in the afternoon.? Before we delv in lets get clear on what body ‘weight’ actually is. Body weight can be separated into 2 categories:... Fat Mass (FM) body fat/adipose tissue Fat Free Mass (FFM) everything that isn’t body fat ; muscle,bones, organs, water etc. When people say they want to ‘lose weight’ what they actually want is to lose Fat Mass. when people want to gain weight, they typically want to increase FFM/ muscle mass. Changes in body weight (measured by a scale) are not always the result of an increase or decrease in fat or muscle mass. It is EXTREMELY common and normal for your scale weight number to fluctuate everyday. What may vary this number can be any of the following: Carbohydrate intake Menstrual cycle Exercise and Muscle Damage (weight training and exercise causes muscles to inflame in conjunction with water retention) Food Volume hydration Sodium intake STRESS- yes you heard me, stress can make a massive impact on your weight, overall health and also play a huge part in your results overall and progress. My top tip is if you see the numbers fluctuate a few kilos daily, you’re not going backwards, but if you see a consistent increase or decrease for a number of weeks, thats when you can reflect on your training and nutrition and see if there is something that is causing that number to stay consistent. I personally am not a fan of scale weight as a measure of tracking progress, but for some people in can be their way of measuring their progress and that’s okay, whatever works best for you is going to be the most helpful! 21.01.2022 CLIENT SPOTLIGHT Emma This girl so much determination in her every session In the 1.5 years I’ve been training Em she has achieved SO much, not only achieving Club Winner for @goodlifehelensvale in the 8 & 12 Week challenges, but has also built such a strong and controlled foundation in her performance in training. ... Today we worked on Suspension Handstand Push ups, something she asked if we could try a few weeks ago & today she nailed them without hesitation as well as making so much progress in her pull ups AND deadlift today. She is a force to be reckoned with, she has no limits and she truly inspires me everyday as a coach and person. It’s a honor to train you Em, you have no idea how much I appreciate and love you keep up the incredible work my girl, you’re doing flippin’ amazing!!!
