20.01.2022 Junior Illawarriors have partnered with Southern Districts Rugby to build pathways into Sydney’s premier Rugby competition. We will be working with Southern Districts and have close contacts to help develop those rugby players whom have the desire to play in Sydney. With a small number of players every year moving to Sydney to further their rugby dreams the pathway can be difficult for the elite players. This is a program targeted for the top end rugby player who is striving ...to be the best they can and if that’s you we highly recommend you apply for this program. If you have financial difficulties at the moment please make contact with Dion Miller (0450035185) you can apply for scholarship through our resources at Illawarra.They are also looking to hold development days for aspiring rugby players in our region which is great news for our district. The Southern Rugby Alliance is a new venture and they are looking to grow the game throughout the southern part of Sydney and its surrounds. Check out their details and get behind a great initiative for rugby. They are non for profit organisation so if you would like to jump on board financially they have plenty of sponsorship opportunities for you. 20.01.2022 We'd just like to give a big SHOUT OUT to the guys at GEN BLUE and the job they are doing under exceptionally hard circumstances. Despite essentially working pa...rt-time due to COVID (job keeper etc) and having all the regular avenues of selection pathways unavailable in 2020. They have still done their best to offer 'something' in the way of a GEN BLUE program for this year. Yes there have been holes - nobody is denying that and players will have been missed this year. But with no Schools nor club Rep pathways to assist them the job has been herculean. But they still tried to give some sort of pathway program. And yet there are still complaints many of which are unfair and unrealistic. But there has been really positive feedback from many areas which understand the situation and have offered support and suggestions moving forward. We'd like to thank these folk. Take this weekend as an example of their workload, where they were split between Wellington in the Central West (Country) & Sydney (Schools/Club) on Saturday as well as back in Sydney on Sunday (SJRU Club). Then backing up on Tuesday to watch more schools rugby. Not bad from just two blokes to cover everything. So hats off guys - we at NSW Juniors are appreciative of the efforts you are making. 13.01.2022 Junior Illawarriors head coaching Staff for 2021 have been selected. With the COVID situation earlier this year and the cancellation of the 2020 rep program we have re appointed the 2020 head coaches. Boys U 12 Brendan Fannin U 13 Matt Yates... U14 Jeff Putt U15 Diri Nasalo Yalayala U16 Greg Bourne The coaching teams will consist of -Head coach -Assistant coach -Emerging coach -Manager -Girls coaching staff tba -U 10/11 tba -Trials for teams will be early next year when the kids go back to school. -We hope to have 90% of our program training/learnings completed before club comp starts for the kids. -A complete program information sheet will be sent out on the 1/12/2020. -We will also email all clubs for people not on social media etc. -There are still some coaching roles available and clubs will be notified next week of these positions that are available. -On the 1/12/20 the information pack will have a generic fitness program for those who would like some fitness information to prepare for the trials late January. 11.01.2022 2021 selection process will consist of a head coach and three independent selectors. This year we have a gen blue selector on board and their process and format will be used. We also have a Sydney Juniors selector and a past country and Waratahs 20 s coach on board our selection panel. We have a formal process put in place for participants who wish to get feed back on their personal selection outcome.
11.01.2022 Last year there was so much effort put in by all that trialled And put the program together. Was sad not to be able to pick all athletes as they put so much into their rugby. With COVID lingering around at the moment we will keep you posted with up dates. For us it was a great time testing all the kids.... Happy new year take care See more

Applications for Coaching and Support Staff for the 2021 Representative will be open, via online portal. The IDRU Jnr Illawarrior would like to also announce that Due the Cancelations of the 2020 Rep season we have sent letters to incumbent Head Coaches of some age groups to ask if they would like to continue in the role for season 2021. All other interested parties please apply via onlin...e portal for age groups below. U10s U11s Mixed U12s U13s Mixed U14s U15s U16s Boys U14s U16s U18s Girls This year all ages will have a Head Coach, Assistant coach, Emerging Coach and Manager. The IDRU Jnr Illawarriors would also like to announce that NO trial dates will be set for the remainder of 2020. With the representative selection process commencing in early 2021.
