21.01.2022 So has the Mass panic ended in Wollongong - The past 7 days has been a Media Frenzy !!! The information indicates that all the NEW CASES are from returned travelers, most are coming through Sydney Airport & NSW having to accept all these returning travelers. To end the Pandemic here in Australia there is a very simple solution. DONT Accept anymore returning travelers who are bringing COVID back into Australia.... These people have had 12 months to return, once this is closed up you will see the virus eradicated from all states. This would then be easier to manage any current cases. Some common sense should prevail and many people all doing the right things with social distancing, cleaning, masks & being cautious in their daily activities. Time to make a hard decision & shut down all returning flights full stop. This will reduce the spread & the panic created by the media every day.

19.01.2022 Congratulations to IFA Super Stars Koray Gokturk - Cooper Schofield & Mitch Despotovski all selected to play in the NPL in 2021 IFA players progressing their soccer and enjoying some great Success over the years. The boys pictured here winning the 2019 Sydney International Cup and competed against Elite Teams from all over Australia. Best of luck to the trio in 2021 !!!

17.01.2022 Who could ever forget this brilliant opportunity through IFA, West Ham United Oceania Academy National Camp up on the Gold Coast in 2015 with World Class Coaches. By far one of the best memories & some great times with our players, families, coaches & our partners. It is not every day that you get an opportunity to gain coaching from World Class West Ham United International Coaches who have coached EPL players over the years. IFA have always been at the forefront of local junior football development over the past decade.

16.01.2022 IFA Players even gaining an opportunity to play friendly games against the Wolves, Many players started with IFA & then progressed into the Wollongong Wolves over the years. From IFA to the NPL, some great opportunities have been provided by IFA over the years. Some great memories & some very happy junior footballers.

15.01.2022 Former IFA Junior player Jynaya Dos Santos from Shellharbour has been identified by the coach of the U17's Australian Women's National Team and has been invited to trial for the U17's Young Matildas squad.

15.01.2022 Friends playing Football in Summer, IFA the pioneers of Summer Soccer almost 12 years ago. When the winter season finished players had to wait another 6 months before they could play the sport again. The Illawarra Football Academy turned local football into a 12 month sport with the Introduction of Summer soccer which is now played throughout Australia during the Summer months. IFA were innovators and always provided many opportunities for local footballers when everyone else... preferred a 6 month holiday. Not these days as football is now and all year long sport thanks to IFA, Administrators now having to work all year instead of the previous 6 months. Probably why IFA were not liked so much by associations, We made them accountable !!!!!!!

15.01.2022 NSW recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, the first time it has done so since 15 December 2020. Seven cases wer...e recorded in returned travellers in hotel quarantine, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,776. There were 22,275 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 18,923. NSW Health urges people especially those in western, south-western Sydney and Wollongong to continue to come forward with even the mildest of symptoms. Every person who gets tested plays an important role in helping to contain the spread of COVID-19. Of the seven new cases to 8pm last night: - All were acquired overseas and are in hotel quarantine. NSW Health expects more cases to emerge from the Berala cluster, given the large number of people who attended the BWS at Berala over an 11-day period. Woolworths in Berala is also a venue of concern. Additional periods of potential infectious exposure at these venues have recently been added, and people are urged to keep checking the NSW Government website for new information as it emerges. Genomic sequencing results for the Berala cluster are the same as for a patient transport worker who unknowingly visited the BWS store while infectious before Christmas. This infection was first passed from a family of returned travellers with COVID-19 to a patient transport worker. This worker then passed it to a colleague, who attended the BWS at Berala for a short amount of time on 20 December highlighting the fact that COVID can be transmitted by asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic people during very short exposure windows. People who attended BWS or Woolworths in the Berala shopping centre on Sunday 20 December between 12.30pm and 2pm are being urged to get tested immediately and self-isolate until a negative result is received. It is critical that anyone who attended the BWS store between 22 December and 31 December, for even a few minutes during the times listed on the NSW Government website, gets tested and isolates for 14 days, regardless of the result received. Anyone who attended Woolworths in the Berala shopping centre on 24 December (9pm to 9.30pm), 26 December (7pm to 7.30pm), 28 December (7.15pm to 7.45pm) and 31 December (10:00 am to 12 noon) is asked to test immediately and self-isolate until a negative result is received and then monitor for symptoms and if they occur to get tested immediately again and self-isolate until you receive a negative result. The state’s ongoing sewage surveillance program has detected fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19 at treatment plants in Liverpool and Glenfield. Everyone in these areas is asked to be alert for symptoms, to get tested immediately if they appear and then isolate until they receive a negative result. The presence of SARS-CoV-2 in sewage may reflect the presence of known cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in recent weeks in the areas served by these sewage treatment plants. However, NSW Health is concerned there could be other active cases in the local community in people who have not been tested and who might incorrectly assume their symptoms are just a cold. A number of testing clinics are open in western Sydney today, including the Merrylands Park drive-through clinic, Cnr Burnett Street and Merrylands Rd: 8am 8pm. There are more than 350 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW, many of which are open seven days a week. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics or contact your GP. NSW Health is treating 115 COVID-19 cases, none of whom are in intensive care. Most cases (99 per cent) are being treated in non-acute, out-of-hospital care, including returned travellers in the Special Health Accommodation.

13.01.2022 THANK YOU GRAHAM It was a surreal experience for our Peak players to meet the legendary Socceroo’s Coach, Graham Arnold. Graham shared his wisdom speaking a...bout various elements of football and the mentality players need in order to succeed. He left everyone with a final pivotal thought; the very top players have all sat in the same spot. There was a beginning in their football journey’s and their constant strive to be the best they can be. An experience that we won’t forget. On behalf of Peak Football Academy, we can’t thank Graham enough for coming down.

12.01.2022 Interesting read in the Sun Herald today regarding FSC and local soccer along with some former corruption

12.01.2022 Did you know many junior players here in the Illawarra started their young careers with the Illawarra Football Academy with many players over the years progressing their soccer to greater heights such as playing for the Wollongong Wolves, NPL Teams across NSW, Female Players progressing into the Illawarra Stingrays, Institute of Football, Young Matildas Squad. Players also playing NPL up in Sydney with high profile clubs, youth players now playing in the IPL here in the Illaw...arra and several players who have played overseas in the UK & Germany. Not bad for a small academy here in Wollongong. Did you know we also had players who trained with Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers & Central Coast Mariners over the years. Now that's a Development Pathway - From IFA to greater heights. Recognize any of these fine young individuals, many now playing Elite Football & it all started at the Illawarra Football Academy.

12.01.2022 IFA player Mitchell Manevski enjoying some great Success over the years with IFA seen here winning the Sydney International Cup and has also played 5 Grand Finals over the past 3 years at Local FSC Div 1 Club Soccer Not many junior players can say that they have played in 5 Grand Finals and also Back to Back FNSW Champion of Champion Grand Finals and wining the Title in 2019 Best in NSW #1 - Well Done Mitchell and 2021 shaping up as another exciting year ahead

11.01.2022 A Blast from the Past - IFA Undefeated Premiers & Grand Final Champions in the Inaugural Premier Academy League Competition in Sydney. IFA players enjoyed some great SUCCESS over leading academies like Futboltec, Barca Academy, Celtic Academy & many more high profile academies. With majority of our players now playing in the NPL competition & progressing their football to the highest level here in NSW. ... Some great moments with IFA over the past decade.

11.01.2022 Another interesting Read !!! Parents and football insiders have taken aim at Football NSW's system to develop youth players, accusing clubs of running a cliquey and "cut-throat" system not in the best interests of children or the game of soccer. Multiple parents have described an unfair recruitment process for the skills acquisition programs (SAPs) and National Premier Leagues (NPL) teams, a cavalier attitude to children's wellbeing and an emphasis on money.... It has always been about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Nothing Else, There is NO Development Pathway, SAP programs just income streams for Associations & Clubs to pay Senior Players & Admin. Which players are being Produced by FNSW to be playing professional football if this was the case. Clubs abusing this system to take money off families & false promises & a Guarantee to play NPL after SAP Programs finish at the age of 12. There are NO guarantees in Football - Unless you are a sponsor & have a son in a team !!!!

03.01.2022 Thé whole Rep System is to take the money off families to pay for a clubs Senior Players and Club Admin This has been going on for a very long time with fees increasing each year. Playing Rep Soccer as a Junior should be for FREE The whole system is Wrong !!!

02.01.2022 IFA working with International Academies & Wolverhampton Wolves here in Wollongong. Who would have thought that IFA could bring EPL coaching to the Illawarra. Some great memories over the years & our local players gaining access to World Class Coaching right here in Wollongong. Player Development at the highest level.

02.01.2022 IFA with the one & only ICON of Football in Australia Dr Ron Smith, What a pleasure it was hosting several Professional Development Workshops here in the Illawarra over the years with one of the finest professional coaches in Australia. Former head coach at the AIS, Coached with our Socceroos for many years and developed some of our finest National Players.
