25.01.2022 Rain ruined Day 1 of our seniors semi finals yesterday. All three teams now have a 1-day game today (weather permitting) to book a place in the Grand Final. And a brilliant result for our junior team in the finals. Our u/17’s team (who finished 4th) have beaten the Minor Premiers to win through to the Grand Final. Bowling first, Connor Soares was the star with the ball, taking 5/19 off his 7 overs. Matthew McCallum (2/8 off 10!) and Sean Foster (2/6) helped restrict MCC Bar...nes to 91. Matthew McCallum (44) followed his effort with the ball, along with Angus Saunders (18), in guiding us safely past the target 6 wickets down. Congratulations fellas!
25.01.2022 Good evening! A much shorter post this week, as we’ll split the juniors and seniors as our older teams move into the Finals. So here’s what happened with the youth of the club last weekend! u/11’s 5/138 Defeated Penshurst West 10/101... Our last game of the season brought another great win for our youngest team. Bowling first and the star of the show was Emily Pitt - she took a hat trick on her way to 3/2 off her 2 overs. Congratulations Emily, fantastic effort! Ashray KC and Oviya Praveen Kumar were the other wicket takers. With the bat, everyone got amongst the runs as we chased down our opponents total. Samantha Aley (11) and Dujah Shrestha (13) were the top scorers. A fantastic way to finish the season, well done to all our Under 11’s (and their ever patient coaches and parents!). u/15’s 2/131 Lost to Kingsgrove CC 2/193 Another tough day in the field. Kingsgrove got off to a strong start, and we weren’t able to rein them in with the ball. Harrison Vlachos (1/16) and Keegan Daly (1/14) were the wicket taker. A couple of early wickets had us on the back foot in our big run chase. A brilliant partnership between Harrison Vlachos (51) and Christian Callen (54) got us back into the game, but it wasn’t quite enough. Unfortunately the finals are out of reach, and we conclude our season with a game against Ramsgate RSL at Gannons 1 on Saturday u/15 Girls 81 Lost to Marrickville CC 1/120 Taking on the ladder leaders, we were up against it in the field. Leah Wittorn (1/6) was the wicket taker as their strong batting set up a big total off the 20 overs. With the bat there were a number of starts, but unfortunately we couldn’t quite keep up with the required run rate. A win on the weekend in our last round, coupled with favourable results elsewhere, would see us sneak into the final. Randwick Junior CC Blaster at Gannons 5 this weekend. Good luck all!
25.01.2022 Just doing a little Friday night tidy up as 3rd and 4th Grade wait and see what the weather will do this weekend, ahead of their sudden death Final. We’ve found a number of milestones that have been achieved, in the second half of the season... Games Played... * Peter Cranney - 200 games for the club. Just the 16th player to reach that mark * Danny Verus - 150 games for the club. Debuted for the club way back in 85/86 and spent a fair bit of time away with other clubs before a return a few years back * Dean Heighway - 100 games for the club * Sean Heighway - 100 games for the club The Heighway’s have been the absolute backbone of a number of teams over a number of years now. Fantastic to see them racking up a well deserved milestone. Wickets taken * Matt Cocking reached 250 wickets for the club. Just the 16th player to reach the mark (and third in his family...) Well done everyone, some great achievements there with plenty more to come in the future!
25.01.2022 Ok, the other night we asked the question: Who has the most 5 wicket hauls for the senior club? A ) Mark Bryant (307 wickets in 129 games)... B ) Steven Meagher (373 wickets in 268) C ) Mick Finn (316 wickets in 272) D ) Peter Oakman (369 wickets in 164) E ) All the above There was some good debate below the line, but only Peter Cranney mentioned the correct answer. E ) All the above All five of these gents took (or have currently taken) 17 five wicket hauls for the Club. Mark Bryant took 9 in 1st grade and 8 in the lower grades. Looking purely at the stats, it seems he terrorised batsmen in every grade. Peter Burgess, I’m sure you’ve got plenty of great memories of Moo ripping through teams Mick Finn has taken 1 in 1st grade and 16 in the lower grades. After tearing apart batting orders in the lower grades, when he moved up to 1st grade he almost stopped bowling and concentrated on tearing apart bowling attacks, opening the batting for many years. Steven Meagher has 6 in 1st grade and 11 in the lower grades. In every grade he has played, Stiff has consistently taken wickets and consistently very important wickets. Has rested his shoulder for a few seasons, but still has the ability to grab a big bag. Peter Oakman took all 17 of his in 1st grade. Only one season outside the top grade meant lower grade opponents were spared Oak’s reign of terror. Was the leading 1st grade wicket taker for many years, and his reputation still precedes him 25 years after his last game for the club. We’ll turn our attention to the batsmen next, stay tuned!

23.01.2022 Juniors check in for 14 November. Another tough week for our young ones. u/11’s 9/102 Lost to Ramsgate RSL 6/125 Julian Lee (12) top scored and took 2/6 with the ball in a great all round performance. Not enough runs in the board to win this one ... u/15’s 7/125 Lost to Marrickville CC (Simpson) 5/128 Christian Callen (31) led the way with the bat and Keegan Daly (4/9) was the star with the ball as we fell to another close loss u/15 Girls 8/59 Lost to Concord Briars 4/108 Emma Rollo (2/14) shone with the ball and Emma Hurley (17) top scored, but not enough support meant we fell short in this one. Another round of games this weekend, and another chance to get a win on the board! u/11’s vs South Hurstville Carss Park at Carss Park 1 u/15’s vs Kingsgrove CC at Gannons 1 u/15 Girls vs Randwick Junior CC at Heffron 3 Good luck everyone!
23.01.2022 Round 2 starts tomorrow for all nine of our teams. Here’s the who and the where! 22.01.2022 There’ll be more about this later in the week, but how good are the figures from Hot Spot Pat Aley (1st Grade) on the weekend. Fourth best bowling figures in Australia.... not a bad effort! Well bowled Laser!

19.01.2022 It feels like every week we’ve had to preface our Friday post with if the weather holds, but here we are again on a rainy Friday evening eagerly checking the Bureau of Meteorology website for any rain tomorrow. So.... If the weather holds.... here’s what we’ve got tomorrow. Juniors - all 1 day games ... * u/11’s vs Ramsgate RSL Gold at Quarry * u/15’s vs MCC Simpson at Mackey Park * u/15 Girls vs Concord Briars Maroon at Blackmore Oval Seniors - all 2 day games * 1st Grade vs Coogee Bay Rebels at Alexandria Park. This is a turf pitch, which should make things interesting. When was the last time any of you lot played on turf? * 3rd Grade vs Ramsgate RSL at Evatt Park * 4th Grade vs Penshurst West at Oatley Park * 5th Grade vs Penshurst West at Gannons 2 * 6th Grade vs Botany Utd at Scarborough 3 * 7th Grade vs Penshurst West at Renown 1 Good luck everyone!
19.01.2022 Looking good to get a game in tomorrow. All our teams are playing 1 day games. Here’s the details Juniors * u/11’s vs Penshurst West at Quarry... * u/15’s vs ACC at Gannons 1 * u/15 Girls vs Marrickville Pritchard at Gannons 5 Seniors - some travel over to the Eastern Suburbs for a few of our teams, for the first time this season * 1st Grade vs Clovelly CC at Evatt * 3rd Grade vs SRT XI at Booralee 2 (Botany) * 4th Grade vs True Believers at Moore Park 5 * 5th Grade vs Botany Utd at Scarborough 3 * 6th Grade vs South Hurstville Carss Park at Gannons 2 * 7th Grade vs Rockdale Salvation Army at Carss Park 1 Good luck all!
18.01.2022 What else has been happening, we hear you ask! Well, 1st Grade found themselves defeated 9/128 - 8/110 against Clovelly CC. Not overly notable until a quick scan of the Clovelly lineup shows a Wendell Sailor (229 NRL games, 16 matches for Australia in League. 37 matches for the Wallabies in Union) and Justin Horo (120 NRL games). Having previously had Luke Burgess (of the South Sydney Burgess family) in their side, surely Clovelly will be receiving a visit from Ian Schubert... at some point (actually... not sure he is still the auditor, but the point stands). Wendell Sailor would have to be up there with the biggest names our club has faced over the years. Off the top of our heads, Doug Walters scoring a century at Gannons 1 in 1st Grade 84/85 has to be the biggest. Craig O’Brien (114 AFL games for Essendon, St Kilda and Sydney) scoring a century in 4th Grade in 97/98 is another notable..... Have any other big names graced the hallowed turf of Gannons, Evatt, Riverwood or anywhere else in the district that you can recall?
18.01.2022 Seniors have wrapped up the preliminary rounds on Saturday and move into the fun part of the season. 1st Grade - With a win over DLSK in Round 14, we jumped them and moved into top spot and clinched the minor premiership. 1 vs 2 semi final this weekend sees us take on DLSK again for a spot in the Grand Final 3rd Grade - Played their last game for the season and ended, unfortunately, with a defeat against the second placed DLSK team. ... 4th Grade - In a 1 vs 2 clash, we posted 193 on Day 1. This left us needing to dismiss Ramsgate RSL for less than 85 to jump them into first spot. Happily, dismissing them for 81 meant our quotient jumped to 1.57, while theirs dropped to 1.55 - Minor premiership secured and a rematch with them in the 1 vs 2 semi final this weekend. 5th Grade - As with 3rd Grade, also finished the season with a loss. Facing the 3rd placed team, we came up just short and missed the finals 6th Grade - A commanding win in Round 14 saw us secure second spot on the ladder. A 1 vs 2 clash with Penshurst West to look forward to this weekend. A great season in seniors, plenty of top performances right throughout all the grades - good luck to 1st, 4th and 6th Grades as all three play for a spot in the Grand Final this weekend.
18.01.2022 MILESTONES A number of players reached significant milestones in the games in the first half of the year and as always, we’re proud to recognise their achievements for the club: Batting... * Pat Aley- 4000 runs for the club. Just the 11th player to do so * Dhanesh Wadhwana- 2000 runs for the club * George Funa - 1000 runs for the club Wickets * Sean Heighway - 100 wickets for the club Games Played * Brendan Woodbridge - 200 games for the club. Just the 15th player to achieve the mark * Thomas Merrick - 100 games for the club Congratulations gents, fantastic achievements!
18.01.2022 Plenty of runs in seniors last weekend on Day 1 of the current round. Some for us, some against us... let’s see how we stand heading into Day 2 tomorrow: 1st Grade 2/64 chasing Coogee Bay Rebels 202 As reported earlier in the week, Pat Aley dominated the day with 8/37. A big chase ahead of us on the turf at Alexandria... 3rd Grade 268 vs Ramsgate RSL Ian Barter (79), Lachlan Leitch (43) and Pete Briscoe (31) ensured we are defending a healthy total at Evatt 4th Grade vs Penshurst West 257 Damian Woodbridge took 4 wickets to lead the way, as we chase a big total at Oatley Park. 5th Grade vs Penshurst West 204 Another big chase for us at Gannons 2. 6th Grade 209 vs Botany United 1/81 A milestone achieved here with the first century for the club in 20/21. Dean Heighway (111) cracks a ton, his first for the club, he was well supported by Sean Heighway (40) leading the way to a big total. Congratulations Dean, fantastic effort. 7th Grade 134 vs Penshurst West 3/26 Sean Foster (53) ensured we have a decent total to defend, and with Samuel Rollo (2/11) taking early wickets we are set for a tight game at Renown 1. Good luck all!
17.01.2022 Good evening and welcome to 2021. Hopefully it was a good, if slightly Covid restricted, Christmas and New Year. A full list of senior games this weekend, let’s check in and see how we finished the last round of 2020. 1st Grade 151 Defeated St George Leagues 63...Continue reading
17.01.2022 Information for our junior players (and their parents!) as we creep closer to season 20/21. ICC "Come and Try Cricket Day" (Greene and Gold Day) at Gannons Park nets on Saturday 12 September 2020, starting at 1pm. Cricket Season is starting again on Saturday 17 October 2020... COVID-19 has certainly put a dampener on some things this year, and we hope everyone is coping well with all the changes in our lives that have come our way this year and that no-one has been affected too badly. Greene and Gold Day will be a little different this year. We're back at Gannons due to the works going on at Penshurst, and we'll be holding Team Grading Trials as well as putting on cricket-based activities for those that might be new to cricket. "Come and Try Cricket" The 'Come and Try' aspect of the day is aimed at new cricketers, including those who only signed up for the first time last season- its a chance to have a hit before the season starts, or have your first hit ever - hopefully you'll be hooked for life. Current players - if you've got friends who aren't quite sure if this cricket thing is for them, tell them to come down to the "Greene and Gold Day" and give it a try. A chance for them to come down and see what we’re all about, without the pressure of a competitive game situation! The fun activities will be going on all afternoon. But at the same time, we'll be having grading trials for the different older age groups (both Mixed [ie Sat AM games], and Girls-only [Sat PM games]), as follows: Team Grading Trials Under 15s and 17s - 1.30pm - 3pm Under 11s and 13s - 3pm - 4.30pm (Junior and MasterBlasters from last season - just be there at any point of the day for the fun activities!) And you never know, if you've ever been to an ICC Junior Presentation night before, as we didn't get to hold physical night this season (although the remote one was pretty fun!), there might be the chance to pick up some traditional presentation night items if you show up on Greene and Gold Day...! We'll have teams next season in as many age groups as we can manage. We already know there's a keen team of Under 15s in the Girls-only comp that we’ve already seen training down at Gannons nets - committed!! Hoping to welcome some new players across to our Under 15s teams from St Joseph's Riverwood again this season, and see if any of our MasterBlasters are keen to step up to the Under 11s. Greene and Gold Day is the day to get down to Gannons and find out what's happening on all these fronts! Don't miss out!! Hope to see everyone there!
17.01.2022 Should the rain stay away, we’ll have a full dance card tomorrow. One day games all round. * u/11’s vs Ramsgate RSL Blue at Carss Park 2 * u/15’s vs Earlwood Wanderers at Gannons 1 * u/15’s Girls vs Bangor Comets at Gannons 5... * 1st Grade vs DLSK at Gannons 1 * 3rd Grade vs Doncaster at Evatt Park * 4th Grade vs Captain Cook Dolphins at Oatley Park * 5th Grade vs Coogee Bay Rebels at Renown 1 * 6th Grade vs DLSK at Gannons 2 * 7th Grade vs Ramsgate RSL at Scarborough 11 Good luck all, fingers crossed the weather holds and there is cricket for everyone!
16.01.2022 We’ve finally caught up with the second half of the 2019/2020 stats, and are happy to announce the following milestones that were achieved by our senior players from January to March. GAMES PLAYED Nick Aley - 350 games for the club. The first player to achieve this mark. 400 is not that far off... ... Tedd Poulos - 250 games in 1st Grade. The second player to reach this mark Pat Aley - 200 games in 1st Grade. The 4th player to achieve this. Damian Woodbridge - 150 games for the club Brendan Walz - 100 games for the club Liam Walz - 100 games for the club RUNS SCORED Sean Heighway - 1000 runs for the club WICKETS TAKEN Josh Tiberti - 250 wickets for the club. The 15th player to reach this mark Pat Aley - 200 wickets in 1st Grade. Just the 5th player to achieve this milestone Jason Lecce - 200 wickets for the club. SikSilk Damien Mullen - 100 wickets for the club Jason Hosken - 100 wickets for the club Well done to all the lads above, each one is a fantastic achievement, and a testament to your commitment to the club and, more importantly, your teammates who you spend so much time with over the season. Congratulations!
16.01.2022 A little late this week, but let’s see how our juniors went last week and see where they’re headed tomorrow! u/11’s 6/94 defeated SHCP 3/81 Julian Lee (10no) top scored, while Oviya Praveen Kumar (1/9), Samantha Aley (1/11) and Venessa Devkota (1/10) took the wickets in a good win for our youngest team. ... Kingsgrove CC at Quarry Reserve tomorrow u/15’s 114 Lost to Kingsgrove CC 5/191 Keegan Daly 2/32 lead the way with the ball. In a big run chase, Noah Blundell (27), Harrison Vlachos (26) and James Brown (24) all batted well, but ultimately we fell short. Ramsgate RSL at Gannons 1 coming up! u/15 Girls 4/91 Defeated Randwick Jr CC 6/88 Gopika Sudhesh (31/4) was the star with the ball and then Siobhan Soares (14), Emma Rollo (12) and Rebekah Sanders (10) made sure of the win with the bat. Bankstown Sports at Johnstone Reserve are tomorrow’s opponent and venue. Good luck all, will be very warm tomorrow so remember to slip, slop, slap and drink plenty of water!
15.01.2022 Fashback Friday... As we approach the last Saturday before the finals, we cast our minds back to Round 14 2001/2002 in 4th Grade. That was the day our team faced Peakhurst Inn, and there were some fairly unusual opposition names listed in the scorebook. Given that they didn't even return for Week 2, it's fair to say they weren't going to make the finals, so they probably weren't taking the last game of the season too seriously....
14.01.2022 You just never know where you’ll see an ICC player - we’re everywhere! Here is Brendan Woodbridge (current 1st grade player) going about his business for Fox Sports under the watchful eye of Isa Guha at a recent BBL game. Good work Woody!
14.01.2022 Yes we’ve been missing from these pages for a while, enjoying the Christmas break a little too much. But this performance was enough to get us back online. In 4th Grade it was the Finn Family Fun Day in the heat at Scarborough Park. ... Winning the toss and batting, Mick Finn (father) scored 84, before Billy Finn (son and pictured here) scored his first ever half century with 65. Well done Bill! Jordan Poole (46) and Andrew Firestone (36) joined in the scoring and Chris Wit jagged some more red ink, leaving him with a batting average of 113 at this point in the season. getting us to a very healthy 9/283. Well done Finn’s!
14.01.2022 Two weeks from now, we’ll be sitting back analysing the first day of the season. Will you be joining us on the journey this season? Our teams will be submitted to the association on Tuesday, so you’ve still got a couple of days to register, and to convince your mates to register. Details below! Online Rego Info.. ... Go to Playcricket.com.au, select the "search for a club..." TAB Type in ICC, select the 2nd club, then at the next screen select the appropriate rego "Seniors - full registration"/part-time/Life member and proceed through the process.
13.01.2022 Pat Aley’s effort last Saturday prompted us to do a bit of digging into the best bowling figures for the senior club. His 8/37 ranks as the 8th best figures of all time in seniors, and the 3rd best in 1st Grade. Here is every instance of a bowler taking 8 or more wickets in an innings:... * 10/21 - Andrew Kelly vs Oatley Hotel (5th Grade, 92/93) - Round 7 * 8/17 - Peter McIntosh vs Peakhurst South (3rd Grade, 89/90) - Grand Final. A very, very young Ian Barter (currently in our 3rd Grade team) was one of the victims. * 8/20 - Andrew Kelly vs Hurstville Cricket Club (5th Grade, 92/93) - Round 9 * 8/21 - Peter Beggs vs Peakhurst Cricket Club (1st Grade, 86/87) - Round 8 * 8/22 - Lee Davie vs QANTAS Social (7th Grade, 81/82) - Round 11 * 8/23 - Jonathan Wong vs Kingsgrove Cricket Club (2nd Grade, 16/17) - Round 1 * 8/24 - Peter Oakman vs Oatley Hotel (1st Grade, 88/89) - Round 11 * 8/37 - Patrick Aley vs Coogee Bay Rebels (1st Grade, 20/21) - Round 4 * 8/37 - Jonathan Wong vs Ramsgate RSL (5th Grade, 19/20) - Round 10 Eight wicket hauls do not come along very often. Rarefied air, indeed. Well bowled Hot Spot!
13.01.2022 ICC Junior (and 1st Grade #147) Sarah Aley has announced her retirement from the WBBL on Monday 23 November 2020. The following is the article announcing her retirement from the Sydney Sixers website. https://www.sydneysixers.com.au//sarah-aley-ret/2020-11-24... Sarah was ICC's first junior player to both represent the Sydney Sixers (male or female) and play in the WBBL. She played in the first four Grand Finals of the WBBL (01-04), including winning the title in WBBL 02 and 03, even claiming Player of the Match honours in the WBBL 02 decider (to this day that POTM trophy sits pride of place on her parents mantlepiece). She is the only player from the senior club to have represented Australia, appearing in an ODI and two T20 internationals. The rest of the list of achievements is far too long to go through here! Congratulations Sarah on a magnificent career, we assume this means we can look forward to seeing in ICC’s green and gold in the future? Surely the lure of Gannons 1, Riverwood, Evatt Park far outweighs the SCG, MCG....
12.01.2022 Finals time is upon us in the Senior club. March is our month gents. Last round report and the finals ahead, below... 1st Grade 141 Lost to Clovelly CC 8/175... A loss in the last round, the only major damage was dropping us from 2nd to 4th. We’ve been in this position before and have ended up winning the premiership. Is a repeat on the cards? Let’s hope so, travelling east for a sudden death clash against Coogee Bay Rebels at Heffron 4 this weekend. 3rd Grade 107 Lost to Mortdale Heights 6/140 Results elsewhere meant we could only ever finish second. A disappointing loss to finish the regular season, but at least two chances in the finals to come home with another premiership. Travelling to Malabar to face Doncaster at Pioneers Park this weekend. Winner straight through to the GF, loser lives to fight another day. 4th Grade 1/35 Defeated Beverly Hills Eagles 33 Hopefully a preview of what is to come this weekend as we finished Round 14 with a big win against our semi-final opponents. Beverly Hills Eagles at Peakhurst Park in the 3 vs 4 elimination game. 5th Grade 89 Lost to Beverly Hills Eagles 5/91 Safely tucked in the top 4, thanks to other results, a loss in this round didn’t really change our fate. We were destined for the elimination semi final regardless. And so it is - winner moves on, loser bows out. Making the trek to Botany to face Clovelly CC at Booralee 3 6th Grade 7/130 Defeated South Hurstville Carss Park 9/129 Another great win as we ended our season in this grade on a high. Unfortunately no finals, but we have beaten 1st and 2nd in consecutive games and only lost once since the resumption after New Year’s. Unquestionably the form team of the club in the second half of the season. Just one game short of playing on in March. It’s been a great turnaround since Christmas, fantastic way to end the season boys! 7th Grade 114 Defeated Beverly Hills Eagles (Blue) 7/89 A barnstorming run into the finals culminated in a win against the 2nd placed team which secured finals cricket. In the last four games we have won three and drawn one. All three wins were against teams above us on the ladder. Thoroughly deserving of their place in the finals, sudden death against Penshurst West at Beverly Hills 1 this weekend. Good luck all, the next few weeks are the best of the season. As the great man John Finneran repeatedly said, Let’s enjoy this gentlemen
12.01.2022 Week 1 of the Seniors finals has come and gone, and unfortunately the rain spoiled what was shaping to be a very good Sunday for the club. With no play possible on Day 2, standings as at the end of Round 14 determined who moved on in the finals. Here’s what that meant for our teams... 1st Grade 7(dec)/161 Lost to Coogee Bay Rebels 7/126...Continue reading
11.01.2022 Juniors wrap for last weekend. Not a great weekend for our juniors, results wise, but some good individual performances in each game. u/11’s 9/79 Lost to Penshurst West 6/113 Samantha Aley (1/9), Julian Lee (1/15), Venessa Devkota (1/16) and Emily Pitt (1/5) took the wickets for us as Penshurst West scored a challenging total.... Julian Lee (8), Emily Pitt (7) and Oviya Praveen Kumar (6) doing the bulk of the scoring off the bat, but unfortunately our run chase fell short u/15’s 115 Lost to ACC 121 Joshua Murray (2/2) and Lucy Finn (2/19) were the major contributors with the ball, and with the bat Lucy Finn (28) and Harrison Vlachos (21) kept the scoreboard ticking over, but as with the u/11’s, our run chase fell just short. u/15 Girls 25 Lost to Marrickville Pritchard 2/26 We just never got going in this one. Rebekah Sanders (6) top scored, but not enough runs on the board to stop Marrickville taking the points. Another round awaits this weekend, and a chance to get some wins on the board!
11.01.2022 We love our stats here at ICC HQ, and we’ve got some good ones to report here. It’s our first batch of senior cricket milestones for season 2020/2021 Runs Scored: * Tedd Poulos reached 5000 runs for the club. He is just the 6th player to reach the mark. ... * Liam Walz reached 2000 runs for the club. * Peter Briscoe, in his first season back with us since 97/98 has reached 1000 runs for the club * Gerard Francis passed the 1000 run mark in 3rd Grade, the 11th player to break that barrier in 3rds. Wickets taken: * Damian Woodbridge took his 150th wicket for the club Now, this one doesn’t quite classify as a milestone, but it is certainly worth mentioning. In 3rd grade on Saturday, Lachlan Leitch wrought a special kind of havoc on the opposition bowling. Coming to the wicket at 6/117, Lachy tore the attack to shreds, scoring 131 off just 48 balls. He hit 13 4’s, 10 6’s and one car back window in the innings. Brilliant effort Lachy. Congratulations to all of you, each one is a fantastic achievement.
11.01.2022 Have you registered yet??? Captains and managers are starting to get itchy feet with the new season only 5.5 weeks away (October 17 commencement at this point)! Registrations for juniors and seniors for Season 2020/21 are open and just like last season, registering to play cricket for ICC will be totally online. Cricket Australia have advised that online regos are compulsory. HOW DOES IT WORK - ?... Registrations can be made via playcricket.com.au If you head to the playcricket.com.au page, you can find ICC in the "Club Finder" by typing "ICC" and we should be the second option. OR - use the following link: https://playcricket.com.au/club-finder/club-details?Id=4051 and this should take you straight to our club page. Its pretty easy from there. Select the competition you want to play in, and register, answering a few questions. If you're a returning player, you'll need your myCricket Player ID number (just check a scorecard from last season, click on your name and you'll find it). You might need to set up a new password, but its pretty straightforward, hopefully you'll remember the email address you used when myCricket first showed up. Regos are open now! WHAT'S CHANGED - ? Not much - of course, with the introduction of online regos, the need to have in-person registration days are no longer required. But we've got some other pre-season things coming up instead, including the return of the Greene and Gold Day! WHAT'S NEXT - ? Once you're registered, then check out other posts on our ICC website ( www.icc.nsw.cricket.com.au ) and keep an eye on the page here to find out whats happening in the pre-season, and for when the season starts for your competition. Looking forward to seeing as many ICC players returning from last season, and hoping to welcome some new players to the ICC family!
11.01.2022 Presumably everyone will be sleeping in their whites this evening, in anticipation of Day 1, 2020/2021. We’ve got 9 teams entered this season (3 juniors and 6 seniors), spread across a couple of different combined competitions and a couple of teams in St George only competitions... Everyone has a 1 day game to start the season, and here’s everything you need to know! ... Juniors first, as they’ll be getting up earliest! * u/11 vs Beverly Hills Eagles at Carss Park 3. 8:30am start (St George only) * u/15 vs Kingsgrove CC at Gannons 1. 8:30am start (Combined with Canterbury West’s) * u/15 Girls vs Easts Hurricanes at Heffron 1. 3pm start (Sydney South East competition) Our seniors now, Grade 1 to 6 are in a combined competition with the Moore Park & South East association. 7th Grade is a St George only competition. This is the first time since the 2000/2001 season we’ve had a 7th Grade. All games are a 1:30pm start * 1st Grade vs St George Leagues at Scarborough 10 * 3rd Grade vs DLSK at Evatt Park * 4th Grade vs DLSK at Oatley Park * 5th Grade vs Artarmon Raptors at Riverwood 1 * 6th Grade vs Ramsgate RSL at Scarborough 11 * 7th Grade have a BYE for Round 1 Apologies for the long post, we’re just excited about the start of the season! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to Season 2020/2021. Good luck players and parents, the march to March starts tomorrow!
10.01.2022 A pretty quick wrap up of last weeks games, with only one team getting on the field. u/15’s Girls 5/51 lost to Bangor Comets 4/115 Bowling first, the girls were well lead by Genevieve Soares (2/13). Emma Rollo and Leah Whittorn took a wicket each. ... Sophie Pitt (10) was the only bat to reach double figures, as we failed to chase down a big total. All other juniors and senior games were washed away in the storm. We have it on good authority that a number of our senior teams held impromptu bonding sessions at certain clubs around the district. Not a bad use of a Saturday afternoon in the end! Another full round coming up this weekend, if the rain holds off. We’ll be in touch again tomorrow with the details of the who, where and when.
10.01.2022 So the batsmen haven’t had a go for a while.... let’s check in with the progression of the club record highest score, and see how it has developed over the years. The current record is the longest standing high score we’ve had in the club. So where do we start... ... 73/74 - 4th Grade - our first season in senior cricket. We don’t have the scorebook, so we’re going to note the two highest scores from the season and build from there! Maybe someone from that team can dig deep into their memory bank and remember who scored the first half century? 50 - Peter Burgess 68 - Bob McIntosh 74/75 - 3rd Grade - another season we have no scorebook for. Two centuries this season, the first for our senior club, so we’re listing both. Mick Greene, perhaps your dad remembers which one was first? 101* - Kevin Greene 120 - Michael Milgate From here, we know exactly what the record is - 120 is the score to beat... * 132 - Jason Burke - 1985/1986 - 7th Grade, Round 13 vs Mortdale Heights at Gannons 1. Chasing 147 Burke, opening the batting, nearly got there himself. * 158 - Gerard Carson - 1986/1987 - 3rd Grade, Round 1 vs Penshurst West at Gannons 1 (conjecture on this one - it was originally reported as 157, which meant that when Andrew Martin scored 157 in 91/92 it was thought that he’d equalled the record. No such luck for Blue, on review Ged was a run to the good and continued to hold the record on his own) * 169 - Matt White - 1994/1995 - 5th Grade (scorebook missing, no further details available) * 186* - Michael Holmes - 2002/2003 - 6th Grade, Round 2 vs South Hurstville Carss Park at Penshurst 2. Possibly the loosest unit to hold the record, and the only game Holmesy played that season. * 201* - Jason Felice - 2003/2004 - 1st Grade, Round 4 vs Beverly Hills Eagles at Gannons 1. The only man to score a double ton for the club, Felice celebrated with a forward roll across the crease to bring up the milestone. So here we are, almost 17 years later and Jase still sits at the top of the pile. You’d probably still get long odds for anyone scoring a double hundred this season, but we can’t wait to see what 20/21 holds for us.
09.01.2022 Finals time is our favourite time, and we are lucky enough to have a number of our junior and senior sides still competing. All games from now on are Saturday/Sunday. Our games for this weekend are: * 1st Grade - 1 vs 2 - ICC vs DLSK at Evatt Park... * 4th Grade - 1 vs 2 - ICC vs Ramsgate RSL at Peakhurst Park * 6th Grade - 1 vs 2 - Penshurst West vs ICC at Renown 1 * u/17’s - 1 vs 4 - MCC Barnes vs ICC at Rudd Park Good luck everyone!!
08.01.2022 Junior wrap up for last Saturday, 28 November: u/11's 7/124 Lost to Kingsgrove CC 7/126 Julian Lee (4/9) starred with the ball, with Emily Pitt, Venessa Devkota and Samantha Aley taking a wicket each. ... Our run chase fell agonisingly short, with Julian (19no), Dujah Shrestha (14) and Samantha (10) almost getting us home. This weekend we take on Beverly Hills Eagles at Quarry Reserve u/15's 8/158 Defeated Ramsgate RSL 109 Harrison Vlachos (32no), Christian Callen (27), James Brown (24) and Lucy Finn (22) ensured we had a big total to defend. Christian (3/32) then took the honours with the ball, with Finlay Whitten (2/14) making sure the points came home with us. Earlwood Wanderers at Mackey Park on Saturday u/15 Girls 6/67 Lost to Bankstown Sports 6/68 Emma Rollo (10) top scored in our 20 overs, Emma Hurley (2/5) kept us in the game with Rebekah Sanders, Siobhan Soares, Dominique Smith and Emma Rollo grabbing a wicket each as we were almost able to defend our total. Leichhardt Wanderers at Gannons 5 coming up on Saturday. Good luck everyone!
08.01.2022 All the results from our Juniors last weekend, and what's ahead for them in the next round of fixtures: u/11’s 4/98 Defeated Beverly Hills Eagles 4/83 Julian Lee dominated our inning, scoring 22. With the ball, Julian (1/2), Dujah Shrestha (1/5) and Emily Pitt (1/6) as we grabbed another great win!... South Hurstville Carss Park (Red) at Carss Park 1 this weekend u/15’s 6/203 Defeated Earlwood Wanderers 170 Lucy Finn (52no) was the star of the innings, notching the first half century for the team this season. She, along with Keegan Daly (32no), Christian Callen (32) and Noah Blundell (20) drove us to a huge total off our 30 overs. Early wickets ensured the Earlwood run chase was always on the back foot, with Tom Whiteman (2/28) grabbing the best figures. Harrison Vlachos, Christian Callen, Christian Sinagoga, Joshua Murray, Noah Blundell and James Brown all grabbed a wicket each as we registered an important win. Ashfield CC at Centenary West in this weekends fixture. u/15 Girls 54 Lost to Leichhardt Wanderers 3/141 A tough day in the field against a strong Leichhardt team, with Rebekah Sanders (1/10) and Sophie Pitt (1/16) grabbing a wicket each. With the bat, Emma Hurley (12) and Emma Rollo (15) put together a great partnership but in the end it wasn’t quite enough. Last game for 2020 this weekend, against Bankstown Sports at Johnstone Reserve. Good luck everyone!
08.01.2022 Our juniors were able to get on the field last Saturday and here’s what happened. u/15’s (pictured here) 75 Lost to Ramsgate RSL 3/77 Not the best end to the season, but a great day was had by a very happy team anyway. James Brown top scored with 13 and almost everyone else got a start, but our total was never quite going to be enough. ... Everyone had a bowl to finish the year, with Christian Callen, Tom Whiteman and Noah Blundell grabbed themselves a wicket each. Congratulations on a great season, some fantastic team and individual performances throughout the year. We look forward to more of the same next season! u/15 Girls 7/98 Lost to Randwick Juniors Blasters 4/99 Emma Rollo dominated our batting card with a well made 29, well supported by the lower order. Unfortunately not quite enough runs on the board to get the win, with Rebekah Sanders and Leah Whittorn took a wicket each. We finish the season with a game against Randwick Junior Angels at Gannons 5 on Saturday. Good luck girls!
06.01.2022 Well a whirlwind week winds down and as we head towards midnight and Santa Claus’s arrival, we here at ICC HQ would like to apologise for the lack of updates this week, but also wish you all a very safe, very healthy and very Merry Christmas. Everyone stay safe, take care of each other and hopefully there’ll be mass unwrapping of cricket gear tomorrow morning to be used when we return in January!
06.01.2022 Good evening all. Whilst certainly at this time, cricket is not a priority there was still a decision required on how to complete the 2019/2020 season. The StGDCA committee, along with the Joint Venture committee (with representatives from both StGDCA and MPSECA) had some very difficult decisions to make, given that the Semi-Finals had already started in both Juniors and Seniors. We, as a club, would like to thank the committee members for their time and effort during this ...unprecedented period. For us as a club, the decision taken was a bitter sweet one. The committee decided that the Minor Premiers would be awarded the premiership for season 2019/2020. This means we have the following: 1st Grade - PREMIERS AGAIN! A round 14 win over DLSK proved to be the difference. A commanding win saw us leap over them into 1st place. Congrats to Joshua Brown and the lads. Third premiership in a row, and 11 of the last 12 4th Grade - PREMIERS! One of the tightest Minor Premiership race in recent memory. After scoring 193 against Ramsgate RSL in Round 14, we need to dismiss them for less than 85 in order to pip them to 1st place. Thanks to a double wicket maiden from Billy Finn, we bowled them out for 81 and won the Minor Premiership - and Premiership - by 0.02 on quotient. Congratulations to Mick Finn and his team on a great effort with a blend of youth and experience. In both cases it was a great lesson, proving that every game counts - as you just never know what is around the corner. Well done to everyone involved. Unfortunately the decision did cost a shot at glory for the below teams: 6th Grade - won the Major Semi against the minor premiers, but were unfortunately denied a chance at premiership glory. A great season from the boys. u/17’s - in their last season in juniors, this team landed in 4th place. In their semi final they then beat the Minor Premiers with a brilliant team effort to set up a Grand Final appearance. Unfortunately it was not to be, but there is so much to be proud of with their season. Congratulations to both our premiership teams and every single player that took the field in green and gold this season. So many great performances and stories to come out of season 2019/2020, which we’ll detail at a later point! At such an unprecedented and stressful time, please stay safe and healthy and we’ll see you all back on the field in 2020/2021, pandemic permitting!
05.01.2022 Saturday 24 October update. Despite the weather, our juniors got through their days play. u/11’s 4/104 defeated South Hurstville Carss Park (Red) 6/79... Julian Lee (14) lead the way with the bat, and with the ball, Julian (2/5) and Samantha Aley (2/5) ensured it was a win for ICC u/15’s 5/140 lost to Ramsgate RSL 7/148 Bowling first, Christian Callen (2/6) and James Brown (2/15) kept the Ramsgate batting order honest with regular wickets. In a big run chase, Lucy Finn (46) dominated the attack, well supported by Harrison Vlachos (23no) but unfortunately we fell just short. u/15 (Girls) - Won on Forfeit against Ryde Hunters Hill Pirates The rains came during the afternoon, which washed away Day 1 for all our senior teams - except 7th Grade who were bowling. Ramsgate RSL were 1/86 before they too were washed out. All senior grades will be 1 day games this Saturday.
05.01.2022 Ahead of a steamy 1:30 start today for our seniors, a quick trip back to last Saturday and Day 2 of the games: 1st Grade 6/209 Defeated Coogee Bay 202 A successful run chase on turf, lead by Josh Brown (79no) and Brendan Small (46no) maintains our unbeaten start to the season. ... Botany United at Booralee 1 today. 3rd Grade 268 Lost to Ramsgate RSL 4/270 Not our best day in the field, Matt Cocking (2/46) and Lachlan Leitch (2/69) shared the wickets as we fell to our first loss in 20/21. Botany United at Booralee 3 ahead. 4th Grade 178 Lost to Penshurst West 257 Dhanesh Wadhwana (78) and Liam Walz (37) shared a big opening stand, Patrick Kennedy (32) also chimed in with runs, but not enough to reel in our opponents. Kingsford Apaches at Jellicoe Park in Round 5. 5th Grade 171 Lost to Penshurst West 204 Falling short in another big run chase, George Funa (51), Simon Muggeridge (27) and Talen Hannah (24) kept us in the hunt, but couldn’t quite get us over the line. Kingsford Apaches at Moore Park 4 today. 6th Grade 209 Lost to Botany United 9/210 Dean Heighway (3/32) backed up his century on Day 1 with a good effort with ball in hand. Matt Williams (2/22) chipped in, but unfortunately the last wicket eluded us in a tight loss. Penshurst West at Carss Park 2 awaits. 7th Grade 134 Defeated Penshurst West 70 A dominant display with the ball gained the points for us, with Chris Jerome (4/15) and Samuel Rollo (3/31) leading the way and taking wickets at regular intervals. South Hurstville Carss Park at Riverwood 2. Good luck today and stay hydrated in the heat!
05.01.2022 Day Two of our last game for 2020 tomorrow, and here’s what we’re looking at in each grade 1st Grade 151 vs St George Leagues Andrew Gotsis (48*) lead the way with the bat as we crawled towards a defendable total. A bit of rain today should slow the outfield and make our opponents run chase a bit more tricky. Early wickets the key here... 3rd Grade vs Mortdale Heights 170 A solid bowling performance never quite got on top of the Mortdale batting, leading to an interesting total to chase tomorrow. Pete Cranney (3/47) took bowling honours, with Billy Finn (2/36), Matt Cocking (2/33) and Lachlan Leitch (2/26) contributing well. 4th Grade 138 vs Beverly Hills Eagles Jason Hosken (43) the main contributor here on another slow batting day. Only two other batsmen reached double figures. Will need to rip in early to get on top in this game 5th Grade 2/72 Defeated on 1st innings Beverly Hills Eagles 63 No stats available here, but a comfortable win on Day 1 of this game. Not sure if the boys will be coming back tomorrow to see if we can get some extra points. If not, well played boys and enjoy your break! 6th Grade 156 vs Ramsgate RSL 1/35 An early batting collapse saw us teetering at 6/52 before Damien Mullen (60) and Lachan Alimonti (35no) dragged the innings up to a respectable total. A nice early wicket taken at the end of the day bodes well for tomorrow. Only nine more to get! 7th Grade vs Beverly Hills Eages (Blue) 192 No stats available for our bowling effort, but a big run chase coming up tomorrow at Gannons 3. Partnerships are vital to finish 2020 with a win. Good luck guys!
04.01.2022 A pretty dark day for the senior club last Saturday - 5 losses and a tie. It’s tough to remember a day where we didn’t have a win in the club. Here’s how it happened: * 1st Grade 6/155 Lost to De La Salle Kingsgrove 4/159... Pat Aley (55), Tedd Poulos (36no) and Josh Brown (28) guided us to a good total, but an off day with the ball condemned us to a loss. Jason Lecce (2/23) was the best of the bunch. St George Leagues at Evatt Park in Round 7 * 3rd Grade 97 Lost to Marrickville CC 4/101 Batting first and Dean O’Neill (24) and Lachlan Leitch (22) lead the way with the bat with only Jason Felice (17no) joining them in double figures. A couple of early wickets raised hopes of a win, but just not enough runs on the board saw us surrendering top spot. Billy Finn, Peter’s Cranney and Briscoe and Ian Barter grabbed a wicket each. Mortdale Heights at Riverwood 2 over the next two weeks. * 4th Grade 180 Tied Marrickville CC 4/180 Liam Walz (52) and Dhanesh Wadhwana (41) gave us another strong start at the top of the order and good contributions lower down got us to a very good total. Patrick Kennedy starred with the ball, taking 3/2 and a hat trick before a late scramble saw the teams tied at the end of 35 overs. Congrats Patrick, the hat trick club is a very exclusive one indeed! Beverly Hills Eagles at Peakhurst Park coming up. * 5th Grade 97 Lost to Clovelly CC 8/99 No stats available here, but as with 3rd grade a batting collapse meant we’d need to bowl well. Wickets at regular intervals saw us just about get the win here but it was unfortunately not to be. Beverly Hills Eagles at Gannons 5 in Round 7 * 6th Grade 84 Lost to De La Salle Kingsgrove 151 Bowling first and Matthew Fierro (5/33) and Matt Williams (3/15) kept our opponents to a gettable total. Unfortunately only Matthew Fierro (24) and Dean Heighway (22) got a decent start as we fell to another loss. Ramsgate RSL at Scarborough 10 this game. * 7th Grade 7/125 Lost to De La Salle Kingsgrove 6/128 No stats available here, but another game where we batted first and didn’t quite score heavily enough to keep our opponents at bay. Beverly Hills Eagles at Gannons 3 next up. All two day games for our teams - let’s get some wins and head to the Christmas break on a positive note. Good luck all!
04.01.2022 And here’s how our juniors performed on their last match day. A clean sweep to finish 2019 on a high! u/11’s 3/129 defeated Mortdale Heights 75 Great team effort, with almost every batter getting a tart saw us score a big total off our 20 overs. With the ball, we were very good. Accurate bowling meant Mortdale could never really get a partnership going. Rihanna Tawil (2/9 and her best bowling figures of the season so far) and Patrick Bryce (3/3 and also his best figure for ...the season) lead the way, with Julian Lee, Mitchell Mann, Emily Pitt and Mary Sanders taking 1 wicket each. u/15’s 4/139 defeated Lakemba 6/133 - Lost the toss and bowled first, an early wicket, then some solid, hard to break partnerships saw Lakemba get 6/133 off 30 overs. A good effort with the ball and in the field against a pretty good batting outfit. Angus 2/25, Jackson 1/25. School Holiday curse meant we were down to 8 players for this round, enter Dominique Smith and Emma Rollo from ICC 15 Girls who both performed extremely well in the field given the huge step they took this week, and as would be expected, the ball did follow them everywhere! Well done girls and thanks so much to you both. In to bat we go, at 2/19 after 5 overs things were little shaky, enter Fraser McCallum who decided he would like to go home early so he proceeded to take on the bowling smashing 102 n/o, this include 12 fours and 8 sixes. Speechless. Lakemba had no answer to the onslaught, game finished by 17th over. u/17’s 7/160 defeated Earlwood 6/146 Completing the clean sweep this round for our juniors, Tyrone Lee (57*) and Matthew McCallum (65) dominated the bowling to lead us to a big total. Some good batting from Earlwood made it a close game, but Connor Soares (2/14) took some vital wickets, well supported by everyone who had a turn at the crease. A great win to end 2019. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ICC Juniors, see you in 2020!
04.01.2022 Checking in on our Seniors results from last weekend - 5 wins from our 6 teams, so a pretty good Saturday overall. 1st Grade 5/125 Defeated Clovelly CC 4/124 Our bowlers toiled hard in this one, keeping the run rate down all the way through the Clovelly innings despite some very close umpiring decisions that did not go in our favour. Nick Aley (2/10) and Josh Brown (2/25) grabbed the late wickets to ensure we had a gettable total.... Almost every batsman got a start, but Tedd Not a slogger Poulos (51no) and Stiff Meagher (20) made sure the points came home with us. 3rd Grade 9/226 Defeated SRT XI 101 Some incredibly short boundaries greeted us as we headed into the Eastern Suburbs for the first time this season. We batted first and the scoring was fast, led by Dean O’Neill (70), Peter Briscoe (32) and James Brown (29no), as we piled on a large total in our 35 overs. Given the shorter boundaries, whether our total was large enough was not clear. By drinks, however, it was clear enough after Peter Briscoe (3/14) and Matt Cocking (seriously. 3/21) tore through the SRT batting order. Having gotten through the openers, the SRT bats could be forgiven for thinking the second part of their innings would be easier. It was not, as the younger, faster, and fitter Billy Finn (2/9) and Lachlan Leitch (2/11) finished the game in quick time. 4th Grade 3/187 Defeated True Believers 6/127 Batting first, and the ICC run festival in the Eastern Suburbs continued as Liam Walz (63), Dhanesh Wadhwana (33) and Patrick Kennedy (45no) scored heavily at Moore Park. Early wickets from Damien Woodbridge (2/27) and Jason Hosken (2/11) made sure the True Believers run chase didn’t get off the ground and led us to a comfortable win. 5th Grade 6/146 Defeated Botany United 9/144 Bowling first, wickets at regular intervals from Rob Nash (2/28), Danny Verus (2/7), Jonathon Wong (2/25) and Joseph Neely (2/17) kept Botany United to a very much gettable total. With our run chase led by the evergreen pairing of Danny Verus (28) and Peter Judge (27), all our bats got a start. With the exception of Rob Nash (sorry Rob). The chase was perfectly timed, as we passed our opponents in the last over of the game, to secure the points. 6th Grade 8/99 Lost to South Hurstville Carss Park 2/100 Batting first, we never got started in the innings losing regular wickets. Only Sean Heighway (35) and Karl Redlich (22no) reached double figures. Just not enough runs on the board, as South Hurstville Carss Park passed us two wickets down, with Dean Heighway and Matt Williams grabbing a wicket each. 7th Grade 6/93 Defeated Rockdale Salvation Army 90 No stats available at this point, but it was a comfortable win in the end for ICC. Well done all, two day games for everyone coming up.
04.01.2022 Our final day before Christmas tomorrow, another round of one day games for the juniors. What happened last week and what lies ahead? Read on... u/11’s 3/122 Defeated Sth Hurstville Carss Park 4/49 A dominant display with the bat, lead by Julian Lee (13) and Dukah Shrestha (13), meant we were always favourites to win. ... Tight bowling ensured we took the points, with Julian, Dujah and Oviya Praveen Kumar all taking a wicket each. Ramsgate RSL Blue at Quarry tomorrow. u/15’s 64 Lost to Ashfield CC 8/66 Batting first and only Keegan Daly (19) and Lucy Finn (13) made it to double figures as we were bowled out quite cheaply. With the ball, defending a small total, there were some outstanding performances. Lucy Finn (2/10), Keegan Daly (2/7) and Finlay Whitten (2/5) were the best of the bowlers, as we fell just short of a win. Marrickville CC at Gannons 1 to wrap up 2020. u/15 Girls 8/52 Lost to Bankstown Sports 1/60 Siobhan Soares (10) top scored in our final innings for the season, and Rebekah Sanders (1/8) took the only wicket to fall as we completed 2020 with a loss. Good luck to the teams playing tomorrow, hopefully Santa brings a whole helping of runs and wickets for you all!

01.01.2022 An up and down day in seniors last weekend, with two wins and four losses for our teams. 1st Grade 8/165 Lost to Botany United 5/176 Bowling first, and it was the incredibly in form Hot Spot Aley (4/41) doing the bulk of the damage. Older brother Nick Aley (31) and Tedd Poulos (47) lead the chase well, but we fell just short and recorded our first loss of the season.... Billy Finn and Lachlan Leitch made their debut in 1st Grade, which was the first of hopefully many more to come in the top grade for the two young gents. Top of the table clash against De La Salle Kingsgrove at Evatt this weekend 3rd Grade 8/292 Defeated Botany United 183 Batting first and Ian Barter (39) continued his strong start to the season before Lachlan Leitch (131 off 48 balls) and Andrew Firmstone (37) went on a rampage, as we put on 172 in the last 12 overs (yep, 14.33 runs an over). A score that big was never really going to be chased down. Almost all bowlers took wickets, with Billy Finn (3/19), Peter Cranney (2/48), Lachlan Leitch (2/22) and Peter Briscoe (2/30) took most of the wickets. It was then left to David Parawa (1/0 off 1 ball) to finish the innings quickly. Marrickville CC Simpson at Peakhurst Park tomorrow 4th Grade 8/101 Lost to Kingsford Apaches 137 Damian Woodbridge (4/20) and Billy Harte (3/12) kept our opponents to a gettable total. Unfortunately the batting didn’t quite click, with several players getting starts but only Luke Mansour (22) getting past 20. Marrickville CC Barnes at Oatley Park for 4th Grade 5th Grade 8/163 Defeated Kingsford Apaches 8/135 The ageless Danny Verus (67) anchored the innings, while some lower order whacking from Sanket Gudigar (30no) and Simon Muggeridge (20) got us to a very defendable total. Rob Nash (2/25) and Joseph Neely (2/15) were the best with the ball, and four others grabbed a wicket each. Clovelly CC at Olds 2 in our next game 6th Grade 96 Lost to Penshurst West 5/143 Greg Warren (2/7) returned best figures with the ball as Penshurst’s scoresheet looked incredibly lop-sided. One batsman scored 103, nobody else went past 18. Wickets at regular intervals stalled our run chase, with only Dean Heighway (32) making a sizeable contribution. De La Salle Kingsgrove awaits, at Carss Park 2 7th Grade 9/114 Lost to South Hurstville Carss Park 9/117 No stats available, but a very tight encounter unfortunately didn’t go our way falling one wicket short of defending our total.
