25.01.2022 The Pylon, Cottesloe Beach, Perth, WA, Australia. The iconic Cottesloe Pylon (also known as Cottesloe Buoy) was built in 1935. Originally there was three pylons, but after a powerful storm only one survived. Cottesloe Beach Pylon is valued by the local community as a reminder of past infrastructure, including the jetty and the original bathing pavilion, located at Cottesloe Beach and for its contribution to the beach as a distinctive landmark and for its use as a diving platform. As a well-known icon for visitors to Cottesloe Beach, who travel from across the state and Australia, Cottesloe Beach Pylon contributes to the community's sense of place.

25.01.2022 Fiery Sunrise at Avalon Beach, Sydney, NSW, Australia 'A red sky at night is a sailor's delight! A red sky in the morning is a sailor's warning.' Perhaps this saying came to mind if you caught a spectacular sunrise or sunset recently. Since biblical times and probably before, proverbs and folklore such as this developed as a way for societies to understand and foretell prevailing weather conditions. These red fiery sunrise at Avalon Beach was definitely the herald of a coming storm later. The combination of the cloud formations and the almost unbelievable colours of the sunrise tinting them is a feast for the eyes. #visitnsw #ilovesydney Destination NSW Sydney.com

21.01.2022 View from Beginning to Believe Lookout, Baiyun Scenic Area, Huangshan (Yellow Mountains), China Beautiful black and white photo of Huangshan, also known as the Yellow Mountains, in the southern part of the Anhui province in northern China as it's seen from the Beginning-to-believe lookout in Beihai Scenic Area (North Sea). It looks like painting. Huangshan has often been described as the world's most beautiful and enchanting mountain. Over the centuries this mountain with its seventy-two peaks has been the subject of Chinese landscape painters, whose singular works are so haunting it seems impossible that these mountains exist in nature. 15.01.2022 Meoto Iwa #3 (The Wedded Rocks), Futami, Mie Prefecture, Japan. The two rocks, known as Izanagi and Izanami respectively, are together called Meoto Iwa and are connected at all times by a thick rope that tethers the lovers together. The stones are seen as a representation of paired dualities, hence the outcroppings have gained nicknames such as the 'lover's rocks' and the 'wedded rocks.' Physically, the stones are not remarkably large, with the larger of the two (Izanagi) sta...nding just nine meters tall and the smaller one (Izanami) just over three meters. However, the key feature of the site is the shimenawa, a thick rope made of rice straw that has been braided in a specific way that is sacred to the Shinto religion. The huge rope wraps around both rocks and is said to weigh at least a ton. The cord is continually eroded by sea water and the elements, but it replaced three times a year in a special ceremony.
