23.01.2022 AUSTRALIAN TAEKWONDO ONLINE ATHLETE SESSIONS - LEARN FROM THE BEST! Australian Taekwondo is launching its online athlete sessions 2 x week for the next few wee...ks. Tune in this Thursday 7 May at 7pm Melbourne time to see one of our highest categorised athletes - Bailey Lewis @ba_ley . Bailey finished 5th at the last World Championships and has a highest ranking of 10th in the world. Bailey will lead you through a general session comprising of: warmup, foot work drills, kick variations in the air and then end with some leg control. The session will be run live and can be accessed through this link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84915440644 (see also the linktree in the bio). 19.01.2022 Today was an extra special day here at ILYO TAEKWONDO Not only was it our fabulous Sir James’ birthday Happy birthday James We also had a super special visitor all the way from Narooma to Award James his 4th Dan Black belt certificates that he achieved last year. Thanks Zoe Cooper from our sister ILYO club for coming all this way and making James’ Day just a little more special, we couldn’t think of a better way to spend a birthday.

12.01.2022 To all students and parents, On Monday afternoon, the Premier advised that as of midnight tonight, all sport and recreational activities will be suspended for two weeks (this includes Taekwondo training). More information will be provided as it becomes available. We apologise to everyone and understand how frustrating this is but our first priority is everyone’s safety. Please stay safe and well and we hope to see you all in the very near future.

08.01.2022 S.A. LEAGUE IS BACK FOR 2021 On behalf of the SA Taekwondo League Board, we invite all Martial Arts clubs to participate in the 2021 SA Taekwondo League Grand ...Slam season. The SA Taekwondo League initiative caters for all levels of Martial Arts practitioners wanting to try out the Olympic sports combat style of Taekwondo in a safe and professional environment. This supportive atmosphere provides opportunities to practice, train and compete with likeminded athletes which helps develop confident Martial Artists and future champions in state, national and international events. This year is all about getting back on the mats. Our aim is to encourage as many players from all clubs to participate in competition as we see the importance of gaining valuable mat time & experience. 2020 saw a lot of challenges for the National Taekwondo community. SA Taekwondo League aim to band together, as a state, in a safe environment, to enhance every club’s opportunity for success & development in sports Taekwondo.

06.01.2022 It is with great sadness and regret to inform our students that we can no longer continue training at either of our clubs. This decision has been based on advice from the Department for Education and the federal government. We have been in discussion most of this week, trying to find a way to move forward but feel the only way to keep everyone safe is to cease usual training for the foreseeable future. ... However, please ensure you are a part of our closed/private Facebook Group ILYO TAEKWONDO BAROSSA in order to continue at home training through videos and challenges posted by instructors. Poomsae can be found on the website www.taekwondoanimals.com. The ‘Taekwondo Bible’ app is very useful and can help with terminology. Please follow the World Taekwondo Federation or WTF forms. We will keep you updated with any changes made to our event calendar during this time. Do not hesitate to contact us if need be.
