24.01.2022 A great message

24.01.2022 Our fabulous Cook, Deb celebrated NAIDOC week with children in the Kindy room today by making damper inspired by Aboriginal people. The Kindy children loved helping mix the ingredients together and then getting to eat it for afternoon tea. Deb added lemon myrtle as it's a traditional ingredient. The recipe is from a website called Twinkl Resources

23.01.2022 Today our educators set up some learning experiences to start off NAIDOC week. Sharing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experiences with children is so important in the early years to support their understanding of inclusion.

23.01.2022 'We will remember them' Today to honour those that have served and are currently serving in the armed forces, our educators planned age appropriate learning experiences to commemorate Remembrance day.

21.01.2022 Children can find beauty anywhere Last week our Pre-Kindy children discovered a rainbow on the carpet in their room. This led to a variety of learning experiences including making their own rainbow with water mist, reading stories about rainbows, creating rainbow art and much more. Opportunity for learning can be found anywhere

19.01.2022 Today on Remembrance Day, we acknowledge, honour, and remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

14.01.2022 Today our centre celebrated Diwali. Pictured is Rangoli, a pattern made with various colours and materials placed on the door steps during festivals like Diwali. Today, the educators made a Rangoli sensory experience for the children by making Rangoli on the table using colourful rice, sand and glitter, along with colourful clay tealight candle holders which were painted by the children.... The educators also supported the children's learning about cultural clothing by wearing Indian clothes and accessories. The educators joined their hands together and said "Namaste" to everyone which means Hello.

01.01.2022 As part of NAIDOC week we have set up a small display in the foyer for all families and children to explore. NAIDOC week is an extra opportunity to share Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture with our children. We incorporate learning experiences into everyday practice through music, stories, play and discussions.
