24.01.2022 An excellent week in and around Tulamben, Bali, resulting in 3 new Advanced Open Water Divers. Well done Phil, Christhol Swanson and Chantal. With the new members of my dive team safely buddied, at the end of the week I managed to get a few dives with my camera gear. An amazing location for macro and critters, most of these shots were taken on just a couple of dives. Thanks to Aquamarine Diving Bali Annabel Thomas for helping the week to be a big success; the best dive company in Bali. Here's a few shots, I'm still identifying the nudibranchs... :-)

17.01.2022 Well its been a while, but I've been back in the water and currently on the long trip home from an amazing expedition to Isla del Coco (Cocos Island) Costa Rica.... Cocos is an extraordinary place, a remote and wild island situated in the Pacific Ocean, more than 500km from mainland Costa Rica. I was fortunate to be invited to join the trip by my dear friends Tom Campbell and Beth Davidow, and 19 intrepid divers (some old friends, some new) were aboard the excellent Sea Hunter live aboard dive vessel for 11 days. With 36 hour crossings each way, that left us with 8 days of superb diving. www.underseahunter.com The diving was incredible, and mainly about Hammerhead sharks! There were hammerheads on every dive, but also many Tigers, Galapagos, whitetips, blacktips and silkys. It was an amazing experience; we spent many hours tucked into the rocky reefs in the strong currents, watching the hammerheads visiting their "cleaning stations", where armies of yellow cleaner Barber fish were waiting patiently to attend to their clients. Strong currents and deep dives made for challenging conditions for photography, but on the last dive of the trip I finally managed to snap the shot that I was after. Here it is, enjoy, and look out for more in coming days.

05.01.2022 Here's a "trip report" from my recent expedition to the Forgotten Islands, Indonesia. Thanks to Seven Seas for posting it on their website. More photos and videos coming soon... http://www.thesevenseas.net/news/2016-12-1.html... Please share

03.01.2022 In the middle of the deep Banda Sea, along the inner volcanic island arc between the islands of Nila and Serua, is the incredible reef Karang Nildesperandum. It just breaks the surface, with a shallow coral reeftop and walls plunging to enormous depths. This is Seven Seas "Boat 2" starting their dive.

01.01.2022 Back in Bali after an an incredible voyage on board the MV Seven Seas - cruising the remote Forgotten Islands of Indonesia, 16 days from Saumlaki (Tanimbar) to Sorong (West Papua). This is just a taste of what we were privileged to experience, from the blue waters of the Banda Sea, to the volcanoes of the Inner Arc, and the Oceanic Mantas of Raja Ampat. An amazing trip.
