23.01.2022 ( ) We are very pleased to announce the arrival of the latest DAMA, the FNQ DAMA. After months of advocating, research, information sessions and the preparation and presentation of an extensive business case, we are pleased to announce the approval of the Far North Queensland Designated Area Migration Agreement (FNQ DAMA).... In consultation and collaboration with the Cairns Chamber of commerce, we have successfully lobbied the Federal government to acknowledge the specific needs of our region and have found a solution which will assist in filling specific skills shortages facing the Cairns region. ? A DAMA (Designated Area Migration Agreement) is a type of labour agreement which allows employers to sponsor skilled and semi-skilled overseas workers in positions which they are unable to fill with locally available workers. The DAMA allows employers to nominate workers for Subclass 482 (TSS) visas with its very own list of occupations. The FNQ DAMA has 71 occupations available. The DAMA also contains a few exemptions such as English levels, Skill criteria, and TSMIT ? The FNQ DAMA has its very own occupation list with 71 Occupations available. (you can see the full list below). The greatest benefit of this new agreement is the introduction of occupations which have not been available before. These include: Farm Supervisor Farm Inspector Restaurant Supervisor Child Care worker Aged or disabled carer Nursing support worker Agriculture Plant Operator Charter and tour Bus Driver Deck Hand Tour Guide Travel Consultant : https://www.immigrationgurus.com.au//FNQ-DAMA-Occupation-L ? The FNQ DAMA provides eligible businesses access to occupations not usually available through the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) visa. It also provides for English language and Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) concessions, as well as concessions to qualifications and experience for select occupations. These new concessions mean that there is now a viable pathway to permanent residency for a student visa holder. ? A common question we get is, will the DAMA give me Permanent Residency? The short answer is YES! the Long answer is yes but it does depend on the occupation which you are nominated in as not all occupations are eligible, check the occupation list above to see if your occupation is eligible for a Permanent Pathway. ?
