23.01.2022 Ever had one of those conversations where you discuss what to do next but you end up spending so much time discussing it you then don't have any time left to do the thing you just spent ages talking about?? No me neither. I have this friend though...... If you are keen for some more tips to pass onto your "friend" on how to go from discussion to action then read this article from Tracey. https://www.impactoconsulting.com.au//3-tips-to-make-bette

22.01.2022 Looking at some of the grant opportunities that are available at the moment one of the most important criteria is essentially "How do you know that you will be effective". No surprises really, of course, grant funders are looking to make sure that they are funding work that makes a difference. Tracey Newman wrote an article on talking about how using codesign can make a difference that starts with ... "When creating solutions for social problems, the main people we have sought to involve have always been the experts. While experts are important, we tend to forget the most important group: the people we are designing the solution for. By failing to capture their lived experiences, we often end up with solutions that only look good on paper. Unfortunately, the people actually using the products or services still aren’t having their needs met, and they can feel like they have no voice." 22.01.2022 One of our favourite pieces of work for so many reasons. First and foremost we were able to co-design a program that makes a difference because we had people with lived experience in the design team. Secondly, we got to work with the awesome team Employment Options!

20.01.2022 So great to see the continued success of The Bread & Butter Project. As you can imagine when Covid first hit there was concern that they wouldn't be able to continue. A successful pivot into supermarkets and whammo now look at them go!!

19.01.2022 I love this!! This project is still one of our favourites mostly because we got to work with awesome people like Lara, rocked out with some good old fashion rock and roll dancing and together made a difference for people living with dementia. Yes we know it's not testimonial Tuesday or Thursday but this feedback from Lara was so great we wanted to share it with you all no matter what day it is. Just on that what is with the Tuesday Thursday thing anyway?

17.01.2022 Just read this interesting interview with Jehan Ratnatunga from one of our favourites - Who Gives A Crap In case you have been living under a massive rock this year Who Gives A Crap became super popular when COVID hit, and everyone bought all the toilet paper (yes terrible explanation and now you all know why I'm not a movie reviewer). There's loads to love here not just all the toilet puns but this too I think really nails his response when asked if he ever had doubts they ...would be successful "Of course! Every entrepreneur must have that gut feeling that says, "Is this really a thing?? And then some people will tell you it’s a bad idea. Eventually, you realise nobody really knows what they're talking about (including you). You just have to go and do it." By donating 50% of profits they have been able to provide over $8.3 million to help provide proper sanitation for the 2 billion people in need. I reckon that it's super great that Jehan realised he doesn't know anything, don't you? ://https://lnkd.in/gHY5ehZ

15.01.2022 Heading into the weekend and we are feeling a bit thoughtful here at Impacto HQ. Dan Bentley wrote about #creativity a while ago and this, in particular, resonates today "The reason we are so attracted to tasks is that we get a short little hit of dopamine every time we complete one, which makes us feel good. As busy people leading organisations, many people’s to-do lists are huge. When we are using this task-orientated part of our brain often it almost becomes our default op...erating mode, making it harder to be creative." Oh, the joy of that little dopamine hit It can be hard to resist the urge to determine the success of my day by my to-do list and prioritise space for creativity. What about you? 12.01.2022 The reason Impacto exists is to make an impact (Just in case the name didn't tip you off). Having the pleasure to work with organisations like UN Women Australia and be able to assist them to amplify the work that they do is such a blast, particularly because it is so vitally important. Love that the insights that UN women now have are going to be able to increase their impact.

11.01.2022 "Culture eats strategy for breakfast" An interesting quote to attach to a post talking about strategy but stay with us.... A great culture is supported by not just a great strategy but one that is known understood and embraced by the entire team. So that serving of strategy you are serving up each day for breakfast is well worth it.

07.01.2022 What does good #innovation look like? Here are some great examples from the AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies list. This list recognises the most innovative organisations in Australia and New Zealand. In 2020, the list has been split into 10 industry-specific categories. These are the top 10 innovations in the Government, Education and Not-for-Profit category.... //https://lnkd.in/gdghXVN

04.01.2022 Big congrats to all of the winners announced at the annual tech awards last night. Technology became even more important this year and it's super cool to see the sector stepping up and innovating in this way. https://probonoaustralia.com.au//annual-tech-awards-highl/

03.01.2022 Congratulations to the team at Hancock Creative!!

02.01.2022 Check this out!! We shared this recently to our network and love it so much we going to share it again here. What's helpful is not only interesting information about bias and how it works but how you can design with it and create even better services and products. Love to hear what you think... ihttps://lnkd.in/gNQ2V6t
