23.01.2022 New to the website! 364-FHB SWIVEL HANDLE 180 LEVER TYPE TUBE BENDERS For 1/4 to 1/2 O.D. tubing.... The 364-FHB series has a swivel handle that can be repositioned midway through a bend when both handles begin to meet. This simple feature allows easy fabrication of bends up to 180 with reduced effort, better control and without the crossing of handles, typical of most other lever type benders. Each tool bends only one size. Conforms to Federal Specification GGG-B-191a Type III, Class 2. For bending annealed copper, Brass, Steel, Stainless Steel and aluminum tubing only. http://www.imperialtools.com.au//364-fhb-swivel-head-tube/

22.01.2022 Recovering liquid or liquid charging is a breeze when using our liquid charger adapters. These devices meter the liquid flow into the system being charged ensuring a saturated vapour and not liquid enters the system. It prevents damage to compressors and maintains the stability of blended refrigerants, For recovery, simply place in the liquid line to your recovery unit and let it flow. Again, no liquid will actually hit the recovery unit preventing damage and recovery will s...till be fast. More details contact us on 08 8278 9694 or [email protected] Part number 545C with 1/4SAE fittings. Part number 545C for R410A use. Save time and money by using these great devices form Imperial tools. To use for charging, simply attach to the LO side port on you manifold, attach the liquid line from your refrigerant bottle to the centre or charging port on the manifold, Open the Lo side port and let refrigerant pass in liquid form to the adapter which will then control the saturated vapour flow to the system being charged. Fast, simple and no compressor damage. To use for recovery, connect the liquid line on the system directly to the adapter or go via a manifold straight to the recovery machine. Start the recovery machine and allow liquid to enter the device, be controlled by it and then to the recovery unit. The device is stable so no monitoring of the recovery is required. Simple, safe efficient. IMPERIAL TOOLS - DEPENDABLE UNDER PRESSURE.

20.01.2022 It is often said that some things improve with age, Imperial benders can certainly boast that loud and clear!. Since 1905 Imperial have been manufacturing quality tube working tools in the USA, a tradition which continues to this day. Often copied, never equaled, Imperial tools are proudly manufactured in Cleveland Ohio USA. I started doing these history write ups with an idea of the history of their products but had no idea what I would end up finding. Big disclaimer here..., the article could never have been written without the help and guidance of Jennifer, marketing manager at Imperial tools who did a lot of digging for me. In my past I worked for a company who copied a lot of Imperial tools and they are in the company of many of these firms who copy the look, the action but never the quality of the genuine made in America tool. Our Imperial benders are always made with the highest quality steel and other materials and are built to withstand a lifetime of use. So where did it all start? The earliest reference we found was in 1938 when an advert was run in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration news of 1939. A scanned copy of the advert is included in this post. The early patents also made for interesting viewing, I have attached a few. During its existence Imperial have applied for many patents as the benders were improved over time. Imperial held no less than 30 patents on tube benders between 1947 and 1989- hence the well-deserved reputation as the pioneer and leader in tubing tools. Next post we will have a look at some catalogue sections from the past and look at a bender which really revolutionised the art of tube bending. Thanks for reading and dont forget to hit the like button and tell your friends and associates. Imperial tools are distributed throughout Australia and New Zealand by Broadtech Supplies and Services Pty Ltd. Imperial Tools Australia can be found on the web at www.imperialtools.com.au. enquiries are best emailed to [email protected].

20.01.2022 Next to undergo a facelift was the original 174. Taking heed of the popularity of the "IMP" cutter it was decided to make a large "IMP" and the 174 as we know it today was born. With a swing clearance of 1-15/16" it could still get into tight corners, carried a spare cutting wheel and could cut larger tubing than the IMP cutter. Again, looking at the original and comparing to the current model its pedigree is obvious. Weve said it before, many people have copied the tool, but they cant copy its history, its integrity and its sheer quality. This is still a tool for a lifetime of use. We hope you enjoyed these articles, you can find more of any of our tools on www.imperialtools.com.au and you can email us at [email protected]. We distribute Imperial tools nationwide, across the Tasman and around the Asia Pacific region.

19.01.2022 It is always some of the simple things that get me. I received a call from a tech complaining his 127C service wrench was slipping. I asked a few questions then came the killer 2 questions. "Have you lubricated it?" and "are you trying to undo a stubborn fixing?" The sheepish answers were "No" and "Yes" respectively. He is now wiser and happily on his way. For those that also dont know attached is a simple maintenance sheet for the tool.

18.01.2022 Its time to re-visit the 535 liquid charging and recovery tool. With many blended refrigerants it is vital that they be liquid charged, the 535 makes this task a breeze. Secondly, recovery, no recovery machine likes unrestricted liquid, liquid is incompressible and will cause stress and damage to a recovery unit if unregulated. Again, the 535C makes this task a breeze, the recovery unit will never see liquid so will never suffer the type of damage seen when recovering li...quid. 15.01.2022 Quality tools really last the distance. The cases look a little battered but these tools are nearly 40 years old and still in use. 15.01.2022 After the 174 came a real innovation, the original IMP cutter. This cutter had unique features allowing it to get into small spaces and cut tubing in almost inaccessible areas. In the early 60s the 127 was born. A tiny tube cutter which revolutionised the way tube cutters were thought of. A tiny radius and big capacity made this tool a firm favorite which although it has changed its name to the TC1050 is still just fondly known as the "Imp" cutter. Looking at the original and comparing to the current day you can see how detailed and thorough the original design was, little has changed from the first model to the present day. Again, many have copied this but none can copy the quality, feel and ruggedness of a genuine "Made in America" tool.

13.01.2022 Some history here. Imperial has been a trusted name for many years, made right in the USA.

13.01.2022 Every so often we get a chance to delve into the past, which, with Imperial Tools goes back a long way as they have been around since 1905. The 174 goes back a particularly long way. Attached are two pics from the late 1930s and early 1940s depicting the original 174 cutter. The 174 in its initial form looks very different to what later became known as the large IMP but paved the way for a whole family of tube cutting tools. In its day it had pioneering features which eve...ryone since has copied or at least used for a base in their designs. The Imperial Brass Manufacturing company as it was then known had incorporated features like 2 rollers for straight cutting and even a groove in the rollers to enable the cutting off of old flares so allowing the tube to be re-flared with ease. Incidentally, the company was originally based in Chicago and remained there for decades until a move to Cleveland, Ohio after being purchased by Stride Tool but has never left that corner of the USA. Truly an American company making quality tools in the USA. The 174 story continues soon. See more

06.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS!!!! The website for Imperial Tools Australia and New Zealand will be going live soon! Like this page to keep up to date with the latest information.

04.01.2022 So next to come was a bender which had a unique action and would solve 2 issues when bending soft tubing, first was the issue of bending in tight spaces, the second was the issue of smacking your knuckles as the handles crossed over when bending towards 180 degrees. So was born the 364-FHB series of benders. However the concept of a bender allowing for a 180 degree bend without crossing handles was not without difficulties and the patent wasnt lodged until 1989. The patent d...rawing shows the handle being able to swing around, so allowing the tube to be bent through to 180 degrees without crossing of the handles, a design unique to this day. A video showing this can be found on our website at http://www.imperialtools.com.au//364-fhb-swivel-head-tube/ and the 364FHB can be found at around the 3 min 30 sec mark. To date the 364-FHB08 is our best selling bender being used in plumbing and HVACR and bending 1/2" tubing, it is still unique, made in the USA and comes with our limited lifetime warranty. The 364FHB series come in sizes for 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" tubing. The 364FHB series benders are available at all leading HVACR wholesalers and you can always contact us on 08 8278 9694 to find your nearest reseller.

03.01.2022 We are often asked "How old is my Imperial tube cutter? It was my dads..."(granddads...uncles...). Here is a photo entitled "Evolution of a Tube Cutter" from... the 1980 Imperial publication "75 Years of Quality and Pride" , The earliest model shown (right) is from 1929. Rollers were added in 1935 (2nd from right); the flare cut-off groove was introduced in the mid-1940s. If you have an old model let us know! See more
