09.01.2022 I know a lot of our audience are using Mailchimp for their newsletters and mailing lists. Mailchimp has been an easy to use, and free option (for those with smaller lists) for some time. But you're probably not aware about their recent change in policy which allows them to censor content. Yep, just like your Facebook content, your Mailchimp content is also at risk of censorship. I don't know if Mailchimp has carried out any censorship yet, but they now can if they so choose t...o. 05.01.2022 2020 has come and gone. And even though it had its challenges, it's a good idea to look back and see what you've achieved. What have you achieved in your business in 2020? 05.01.2022 So, many of you would have heard that Google is threatening to pull out of Australia. This is a concern for businesses, but I don’t believe it’s any reason to panic. Rather than give an in-depth study into this issue, here are some of my thoughts on it: 1. Even though it’s the most popular search engine, and has the most power, Google isn’t the only search engine. Companies come and go, and the world still goes ‘round. ... 2. This is a good time to stop and evaluate the power these big techs have, and remember that how we react to them can either increase their power, or neutralise it. 3. There’s a lot of money tied up in all of this. I’m doubtful that Google will follow through on their threat. 4. I’m proud of the Australian government for standing up for what is right for our people and businesses 5. Even if we did lose Google in Australia, we can look at this as an opening for innovation and to give opportunity for Australian businesses to step into the gap. For now, I’m going to wait and see what happens. In the meantime, businesses should go about their business. Don’t knee-jerk react. Be smart and ensure you have a well-rounded marketing plan - one that doesn’t rely solely on one avenue for reaching and attracting your customers. Your website is still the best online marketing tool because you own it and have control over your content. You can engage and convert customers on it, and entice them to sign up to your email list. And even if Google disappears you still have your web address printed on other marketing material. Your business cards, vehicle signage, brochures, products. The bottom of your emails. People will still look you up to find out about your business and decide if they trust you.

01.01.2022 At Impressence Web Studios, our first course of action was to take the time this January to set our goals and map out a way forward to achieving them. Now, we will start taking those steps! We know what ads we are going to run, what courses and learning development our staff are going to undertake, and what new products we are going to release this year. What about you?
