25.01.2022 A very busy off season preparing the rally car for 2019, what started as a wiring loom tidy up eventually turned into a bare shell rebuild. The only 2 parts of the driveline remaining from last year being the flywheel and tailshaft! New fuel and brake lines from Autohose, diffs, fuel tank, subframes and even some seam welding has been tackled. Work is nearing completion on the original challenge of tidying the wiring loom, with Ampl Auto wiring in the new ECU and DCCD control...ler. Now just 2 weeks to get some panels back on and stickered up at Read Brothers Signs. A tune at S&J Automotive , some tyres from SA Motorsport Tyres and a new high strength alloy sump guard from Hazzard Engineering, Then we're ready to hit the stages! :D

23.01.2022 Molly Spalding Racing helping fit a new aero catch after a large stick broke the last one. Often suggested to be unreliable and easily broken, the first set lasted over 5 years of rallying with no issues. A key to their longevity being occasional cleaning and lubrication. If you want help fitting your race car with these then send us a message!

23.01.2022 Molly Spalding Racing 's Honda now has gears, been working on the fuel system recently, after that we have to tackle the big wiring job.

22.01.2022 Holden astra electric power steering into the k24 integra. Engine swap has made for some interesting problem solving.

21.01.2022 Upgraded front caster arms for Molly Spalding Racing completed recently. Much stronger than stock and now fully adjustable on the car making wheel alignments a breeze. While the car was on the hoist we also strengthened the rear cross member. As this is a non removable part, there is a fine line between strengthening to avoid failure and making it impossible to service after a heavy impact. I think this should be very strong for many years to come!

18.01.2022 A few photos of the TX3 Laser Rally car completed recently. The car was completely stripped of sound deadening and prepared for cage fitment, including removal and refitting of the dashboard A full national spec Rally roll cage was fitted, and also seat mounts which required some modifications to the very wide tunnel. Ford (Mazda) allowed for the exhaust, including the catalytic converter, to run parallel with the tailshaft which created some issues with seat fitment.... Very excited to see the car sideways in a forest!

18.01.2022 Some pre season prep for the k24 integra build from last year, very rough driving has caused some cracks in the old frame. The new model should be much stronger!

17.01.2022 An abundance of late 80's sports cars at SC Racing this week! Saying goodbye to the Laser with its new roll cage. Hello to the MR2 which is in for a restoration, and some small maintenance items on the Integra ready for the SA Rally Season!

16.01.2022 Got the 2 car and 4 driver SC Racing team out at the Khanacross State Championship, not many changes to the pulsar for the event, a bit more missing metal throughout the car. Very interested to see where the k24 Integra can finish up with all its power.

14.01.2022 For what is essentially our first ground up rally car build, to win an award for best presentation means a great deal. Even better when it comes home still shiny and straight after a whole season of rally!

11.01.2022 Was a pretty amazing feeling to have 2 SC Racing prepared cars at the Southern Rallysprint, with Molly Spalding Racing's k24 swapped Honda making its debut on dirt. Pretty proud of everything we've done on this car and that such a custom build managed to finish its first rally with only minor teething problems. Thanks MWP Sports Photography for the photo

09.01.2022 Busy day in the workshop! Engine in its final position and main engine mounts fabricated. As this engine has a bottom mount turbo, the factory mounts are actually on the gearbox with a pitch stop mount under the front pulley. The engine position will hopefully allow plenty of room for a firewall and roll cage hoop behind the driver's seat while being as far forward as possible for optimal weight distribution.

08.01.2022 Gym closed? Buy a Sherpa!

07.01.2022 Subarugears FWD conversion kit fitted, and engine mocked up with organic mounts. Good news is it fits! 20mm clearance to frame rails is only slightly worse than factory Subaru!

06.01.2022 SC Racing built simulators in use at the Superloop Adelaide 500 with Leader Computers AU Built using the same techniques as our roll cages with competition spec seats to give the full racing experience. Excited to be partnering with Leader on this project, go have a chat with them about any of your computer hardware needs!

06.01.2022 A very busy couple of weeks leading up to the painting, a few more busy weeks to follow when it comes back! Happy with the car so far, will look great out on the stages.

04.01.2022 First major project of 2020 Fabrication work on this iconic tx3, including roll cage, sill stands and seam welding. Look for this out on the 2020 SARC Stages!

03.01.2022 Autohose delivering another crucial part for the rally car. A huge weak link in any performance Subaru is the stock power steering lines. The close proximity to the dump pipe causes heat stress and eventual failure, resulting in highly flammable and high pressure oil spraying directly onto the dump pipe. Personal experience of this on two occasions has made this a priority upgrade for us, cheap insurance for any rally or road car. Speedflow 490 series power steering hose and ...fittings with firesleeve heat shield will make this hose serviceable for many years to come. If you would like a similar setup on your car give Wade at Autohose a call.

02.01.2022 Some exciting projects starting in the new year! 1976 Honda Civic ready for a full rally build and engine transplant, not the one in the photo though! This Subaru driveline is destined for an even smaller home.
