18.01.2022 The City officers are currently proposing to permanently close part of Lyric Lane for cars, between 12:30pm and 12am daily "for the purpose of alfresco dining and other public uses" (see the attached map). Any comments need to be submitted with the City by 5pm on Thursday, 22 October. Worth noting that I've recently been informed of proposed development plans (not yet publicly released) for the old Lyric theatre (where Henry on Eighth is), which could result in the closure of the existing car access through the BWS driveway (which is private property). The property owners are planning to lodge the plans in the coming weeks.

13.01.2022 A quick update on the City's upcoming community briefing and Q&A regarding the water quality issues at Maylands Lakes, on 14 October: I asked the City to look into a local venue (instead of the Civic Centre in Morley), and they were able to secure the Maylands Sport and Recreation Club, so please note the updated venue. In addition, the session will now commence at 6pm (instead of 7pm).

04.01.2022 "The Department of Transport is currently accepting public comment on plans to extend the allowable waterski area 100 metres upstream and 145 metres downstream. It’s called the Belmont water ski area but encompasses a significant chunk of the Maylands peninsula, and the changes increase their area by about a third and encroach on the special 8-knot restricted area used by Maylands Yacht Club."
