25.01.2022 A kind reminder the salon is closed Wednesday. All messages and emails will be responded to during opening hours. Happy Wednesday

25.01.2022 Let’s talk about cleansing! Seems so simple yet often overlooked. Cleansing is the most important part of your routine and should not be rushed. Rushing your cleansing will leave behind makeup, dirt, grime, debris, sebum and old skin cells that may not yet have desquamated. This makes it difficult for your serums/ moisturiser to penetrate and do their thing! ... Be sure you are cleansing right up to your hairline and all the way down your neck, especially if you are taking your makeup there. Don’t forget areas with creases, corners of the nose and chin. Cleansing is the most important step, be sure you get it right See more

24.01.2022 Give me if you’re with me. Moisturising is for ALL skin. Yes, even those true oily skin types Remembering even dehydrated skin can appear oily. ... If you are scared of moisturiser then you haven’t found the right one for your skin. I’m here to help

24.01.2022 Monday morning mood Who’s with me?

23.01.2022 If breakouts had faces and they could talk! Oh, how’d they ask you not to squeeze! But, I understand that no one wants to walk around with a yellow head so, my suggestion is: Clean hands, clean tissues wrapped around your pointy fingers and lightly disperse the yellow head. Not digging and pushing down just the yellow head. ... For those breakouts that have become blocked deeper within the follicle - leave them! You will only make them worse, add extra time onto the healing and potential scar the skin as well as cross infect

23.01.2022 Are you hitting your daily water intake? Water in your coffee or added to juices does not make up your water intake. We generally say aim for 2 litres, but if you want to know exactly how much you should be drinking per day - here’s how you find out.... 33ml x per kilo of body weight! For your skin, it’s important you maintain your daily water intake, lacking free flowing water throughout the skin will lead to impaired enzyme activity. Your skin is capable of natural desquamation via an enzyme called Stratrum corneum Chymocryptic enzyme, but requires water to function, lacking water and impairing the function of SCCE leads to skin dryness, flaking, congestion, acne, uneven skin tone. How much water are you drinking and are you far off your daily target?

22.01.2022 Suffering breakouts? Here are your 3 main causes of acne in brief, I say brief as there’s just simply not enough space to discuss in depth. -Retension keratosis - aka a build up of skin cells that haven’t desquamated, started to accumulate and even fall back into the follicle causing blockages. Once the follicle opening is blocked the space inside the follicle becomes an anaerobic environment and this is the perfect opportunity for bacteria to thrive... -Sebum quality - aka oil flow. Is it free flowing or thick and gluggy? If your sebum quality is anything but free flowing it’s going to have trouble flowing through the tiny space that’s left in the follicle to travel nicely to the surface of the skin. If it cannot make its way up to the surface it will become blocked within the follicle causing an inflamed lesion. Those hard, lumpy, red breakouts that are often very sore. -Skin barrier function/PH - aka skins protective barrier and microbiome If the skins PH becomes imbalanced from Acidic to Alkaline it will be become the prefect environment for bacteria to thrive and pathogens to enter- hello to the cascade of inflammatory skin disorders such as acne. We must dig a little deeper as to your individual cause and trigger/s of acne - no two skins are the same

22.01.2022 Happy Friday Absolutely! It’s our largest organ and does so much more than you can imagine. Everyday fighting to protect us when exposed to free radicals - which is always, when exposed to UV, heal when we have a cut or abrasion, regenerate as we sleep, regulate temperature, absorption, secretion, sensation- the list goes on. ... The main function is to provide protection from the outside world. Listen to your skin, it does speak! Listen, love and respect it

22.01.2022 Did you know Dermaviduals is vegan friendly? All products are 100% pro vegan, besides the lip balm as this contains bees wax- but we have a vegan alternative for that too

21.01.2022 That Friday feeling #perthbossbabes It’s not always easy being a boss babe, sometimes you feel like you’re on a constant roller coaster. However, I am truly grateful for all the opportunities I am given. ... Here’s to all my boss babes This bossbabe right here is truly grateful Happy Friyay!

20.01.2022 Well this launch is later than anticipated. It has been on my ‘to add’ list for the past 12 months Time has flown and with how extremely busy I’ve been its taken a little time, but here we are... finally introducing the @prinskincare lymphatic therapy treatment. Lymphatic therapy is a tightening mask (yes, you cannot move your face) that works on your lymphatic and circulatory system. ... The lymphatic system clears debris and toxic waste whilst the circulatory system brings fresh oxygenated blood and nutrients to the cells. Now imagine these two system not functioning optimally and the lymphatic system has become blocked with toxic waste this would mean the cells will not be receiving fresh oxygenated blood and nutrients they needs to flourish. Healthy lymphatics are important for many skin states such as Acne, Rosacea and prematurely aged skin. Kits are also available for you to do your ‘Hello flow‘ treatment at home. Each kits contains up to 5 masks ( depending on thickness and coverage) plus you’ll get a handy facial application brush and a cute lil cosmetic case

20.01.2022 Want a free lip balm? Dry, cracked, flaky lips this winter? You get one absolutely free when you purchase the Dermaviduals body lotion. Plus you also receive a free pink cosmetic travel bag. *Limited supplies. *No holds ... Happy Friday everyone

18.01.2022 The skin fuel facial What benefits does this treatment have and who’s it for? We fuel our body with nutrients, we fuel our brain with positive thoughts and resilience (and omega 3’s!), we fuel our heart with compassion and love, and we fuel our skin with dermaviduals. ... This beautiful NEW skin treatment designed for clients experiencing oxidative stress and/or lipid peroxidation With exposure to free radicals daily we are all exposed to oxidative stress - premature ageing, damaged cells, DNA damage, inflammation and disease is the result. Plus continuing with the added stress of COVID-19, closures and reopening’s, Christmas and continued change. There’s plenty oxidative stress around! This treatment is a perfect ‘pick me up. It aims to super-charge the mitochondria (which is considered the ‘battery source’ of a cell membrane), bringing back vitality to the skin. Unfortunately, it will now be the new year that I will be able to take on any new clients- which I know seems so far away, but kind reminder, Christmas is only 8 weeks away It will come around before you know it. 16.01.2022 The glass of water analogy. Heard of this one? If we sat a glass of water outside, you would notice the water eventually evaporate- why is this? Because it has no protection sealing in the water. ... This is just like your skin. When your skins barrier function is impaired not only does it allow pathogens in, but also allows water to escape. Ever wondered why that thick cream, you keep applying to your dry skin isn’t working or you need to constantly apply more This is because you have an impaired barrier and water is escaping. This does not just apply to dry skin, but ALL skins. If you have TEWL - fancy term for water escaping from the skin you may mistake this for excess oil flow, try to dry this out and the whole cycle continues and the root of the problem is never fixed. Seal before we heal.

15.01.2022 By clients are the best. They become clients, friends, they trust in you, they confide in you and then they say ‘Love you’ Thank you to each and every single one of you that supports me I hope you have the best day

14.01.2022 Post pill acne. Generally peaks 3-6 months once you stop taking the pill, even if you didn’t have acne prior to going on the pill. It’s super important you let me know if you are planning to come off the pill or have already done so, so that you can be supported properly. ... The pill depletes vital nutrients, such as: Magnesium, zinc and the B group vitamins and others. The liver will require support and detoxification to flush away the synthetic hormones. The gut will require support too as studies show the pill messes with gut microbiome, which will ultimately impact your skin. When coming off the pill a main issue is that your ovaries are learning how to communicate with your brain again and vice versa, this can send you back to puberty Sebaceous glands enlarge and a more sticky sebum is produced, clogging follicles. Omega 3 is vital! @invigorate_naturopathy will have you covered for your liver/ gut health and internals.

13.01.2022 how many of these thoughts have crossed your mind during your treatment? Please feel free to share

12.01.2022 This lovely lady came to me concerned with dry, flaky skin, but just look at the difference we have made on those dark circles and general skin health by giving the skin only what it needs. Sometimes it’s easy to see the progress when we are dealing with Acne and more obvious skin concerns, thankfully I take photos, lots of them and it’s clear to see this skin has found a new lease of life

11.01.2022 What we apply to our skin ultimately is absorbed into the body. With no nasties, toxin free, corneotherapeutic skincare you are both absolutely safe with @dermaviduals Let’s not forget the DMS Derma membrane structure in Dermaviduals products closely resembles the vernix - the white coating on your baby’s skin when born. Be sure to leave it on for as long as possible to help them build a strong healthy skin barrier and then continue to support their barrier with corneotherapy

11.01.2022 Hello spring and hello to hay fever season! It’s like a light switch in this house. Matt & Cooper both suffer and Bossy was plagued with allergies too You may notice as we ... head into spring changes with your skin, for some this may mean bursts of dry, irritated, itchy skin, random eczema flare ups and other inflammatory skin conditions. 10.01.2022 Happy Monday! Stretching out and softening those fine lines and wrinkles of the forehead. The forehead wrinkles are caused by the action of the frontalis. This muscle contracts when we raise our eyebrows. The raising of the frontalis muscle pulls the skin of the forehead up and causes forehead wrinkles which appear as lines across our forehead.... When we use micro current on this muscle we use a long wavelength that helps to relax and lengthen the muscle, softening fine lines and wrinkles

09.01.2022 When you get a true oily skin type it’s very rare. Only 3% of the population are affected by this skin type. Most people who experience oily shine throughout the course of the day are experiencing TEWL (trans epidermal water loss) which means water is escaping from the skin. In an attempt to dry up this ‘oil’ which is really water, the barrier is further impaired, leading to further water loss and the cascade of inflammatory skin disorders like acne occurs! ... Very jealous of this beautiful oil flow. Embrace it, but seek professional advice on how best to control it and the quality of the sebum being produced and be grateful the wrinkles will be less apparent as you age

07.01.2022 Who’s this? Hard to recognise after a wonderful skin transformation. From a severely impaired barrier function, which included no acid mantle - our first line of barrier defence against the outside world, letting pathogens in and allowing water to escape, leaving the innate immune system in a constant state of alert. ... The skins microbiome was in a state of dysbiosis- an imbalance of microorganisms living on the skin. The stratum corneum our top layer of skin was lacking vital water, without a delicate balance of around 13% the enzyme activity of the skin is unable to complete cellular differentiation and allow termination of the skin cell, bonds are not dissolved leaving skin cells attached and unable to desquamate- skin is left feeling dry, flaky & congested. There is so much more to skin, it’s not just about what we see topically, it’s about what we can’t see.

06.01.2022 Yes, you do! Happy Sunday @tinybuddhaofficial
