03.01.2022 Each year Independent Schools Queensland staff fundraise for a nominated charity. In 2020 it was Yalari - a not-for-profit organisation that offers secondary education scholarships to Indigenous children from remote, rural and regional communities at leading Australian boarding schools, including nine Queensland independent schools. In support of Yalari's first-ever Giving Day (26 Nov), ISQ staff are pleased to donate $2,500 to help Yalari deliver on its mission to empower and educate Indigenous children. At a recent ISQ staff meeting, Yalari founder Waverley Stanley shared the organisation's inspiring story, mission and success over the past 15 years, which includes 350 graduates and 95% retention to Year 12. Congratulations Yalari!
