14.01.2022 Complete Business Solutions and Entrepreneurs and Small business Indigenous Corporation celebrated on the 24th July, after another successful Indigenous Artists Hub Program. In 2019 the pilot program showed huge success after 5 remote Torres Strait Islander artists including multi-award winning Nancy Kiwat and Benny Mabo completed the program. This year the first 2020 intake has seen 9 diverse and talented artists from Innisfail, Ravenshoe and Cairns complete the Program.... The unique social enterprise aids Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to take their artistic hobby to legitimate business status. The program covers how to compete with knockoffs and commercialise their art using digital technologies. Program facilitators Petina Tieman and Paul Gear instil confidence in the Artists as they learn the needed business acumen and to take ownership and authority of their business. Utilising iiHub a 100% Indigenous owned incubator facility which empowers collaboration. Complete Business Solutions brought in four International students from Study Cairns to intern on the program. The students gained real life work experience whilst also interacting and learning about the Indigenous Australian culture. This also allowed the artists to expand their ideas around markets beyond the Cairns region. Big thank you to the team at Study Cairns for assisting us through the process. 12.01.2022 PHENOMENAL RESULTS!!!! 1 year on from our pilot Indigenous Artists Hub program with 5 x remote community Artists and every single one of them have either started their own independent business or grown their business to significant levels. Louisa Nancy Pilot Kiwat has opened a pop up shop in her remote Erub Island and sold products online. ... Vincent Babia & Louisa Babia have opened their own gallery and workshop in their remote community of Seisia and has sold products online. Benny Jahman Mabo has been engaged by government for multiple language work contracts and has sold products online. Regina Turner & Edwin Turner have grown their business and sold products online. Sooooooo rewarding to educate and empower others of disadvantaged circumstances. #indigenousbusiness #indigenousartist #startupbusiness Repost by Petina Tieman
