25.01.2022 "Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin." Romans 6. What to reflect on today; as we mourn the crucifixion we wait and reflect. On Jesus, the tomb and his death. We enter into the mystery and with a burning light we embrace the life that will come from death and declare that sin and death no longer has any power.

23.01.2022 Whether, therefore, we receive what we ask for, or do not receive it, let us still continue steadfast in prayer. For to fail in obtaining the desires of our heart, when God so wills it, is not worse than to receive it; for we know not as He does, what is profitable to us. -St. John Chrysostom

23.01.2022 There’s no place like home. The phrase reflects a deeply rooted yearning within us to have a place to rest, be, and belong. Jesus addressed this desire for rootedness when, after He and His friends had their last supper together, He spoke about His impending death and resurrection. He promised that although He would go away, He would come back for them. And He would prepare a room for them. A dwelling-place. A home. He made this place for themand usthrough fulfilling the ...requirements of God’s law when He died on the cross as the sinless man. He assured His disciples that if He went to the trouble of creating this home, that of course He would come back for them and not leave them alone. They didn’t need to fear or be worried about their lives, whether on earth or in heaven. We can take comfort and assurance from Jesus’s words, for we believe and trust that He makes a home for us; that He makes His home within us (see John 14:23); and that He has gone ahead of us to prepare our heavenly home. Whatever sort of physical place we live in, we belong with Jesus, upheld by His love and surrounded in His peace. With Him, there’s no place like home." - Amy Boucher Pye

22.01.2022 Saint George (c. 280 April 23, 303) - Saint George is the object of a vast amount of imagination. There is every reason to believe that he was a real martyr who suffered at Lydda in Palestine, probably before the time of Constantine. The Church adheres to his memory, but not to the legends surrounding his life. That he was willing to pay the supreme price to follow Christ is what the Church believes. And it is enough. - The story of George’s slaying the dragon, rescuing the king’s daughter, and converting Libya is a 12th-century Italian fable. George was a favorite patron saint of crusaders, as well as of Eastern soldiers in earlier times. He is a patron saint of England, Portugal, Germany, Aragon, Catalonia, Genoa, and Venice.

22.01.2022 We all suffer in this world more or less, either from anxiety of mind, or sorrow of heart, or pain of body. And nevertheless we all long for rest; we seek it eagerly; and we wear ourselves out all our lives in this search without ever attaining the object of our desires. Where is rest to be found? Where shall we seek it? This is a most interesting question if ever there was one. - Let us believe the saints, who speak of it from their own experience. Let us believe St. Paul, ...who speaks to us of the peace that passes all understanding. Let us believe our Lord Jesus Christ, who calls this rest His peace, a divine peace, which the world can neither give nor take away a peace that we can never obtain by our own efforts because it is the gift of God and is His reward for the absolute and irrevocable gift of ourselves that we have made to Him. I have said before that this peace has its trials and often even very severe trials; but far from shaking it, these trials only strengthen it. This peace of God rises above all evils and raises us with it. It renders a Christian so happy in the midst of all his sufferings that he would not change his state, however terrible it may seem to human nature, for the most exquisite pleasures the world could offer him. Such is the life of a perfect Christian who goes to God by Jesus Christ and who adores God as Christ adored Him, in spirit and in truth; who sacrifices everything to God, and himself above all. Nothing can destroy the rest and peace of his soul, and death will be for him only a short passage from his rest in time to his eternal rest. - Fr. Jean Nicolas Grou #saints #catholicexchange #catholic

21.01.2022 Matthew 17:20 - He replied, Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. - Faith in the small, and in the big, faith when it is easy, faith when it's hard. This is what Jesus asks of us - because when we have faith in his promises, we live them. And through living in faith, we become set free to be who we were created to be. So have faith - you have power in faith to face any mountain.

20.01.2022 "If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful, and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide and the great potential of human existence truly revealed." Pope Benedict XVI

20.01.2022 "Falling in love with God is not just saying a pretty little prayer and "I love ya!" It's about devoting your life to him and dancing with Him each morning. It's about treating God like you would a close friend by communicating with Him and doing every day with him." - Grace Valentine #gracevalentine #catholic

14.01.2022 "Jesus shows us his wounds, so we won't be afraid to show him ours." - Fr Mike Schmitz. - Pray not once a day, or twice but pray in your heart unceasingly. Call out to God in your thoughts and be present to him in your words and actions..

13.01.2022 "We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls." - Mother Teresa

12.01.2022 "I lost my virginity at 15. That scared me into thinking I wasn’t worth Christ’s forgiveness and God wasn’t worth my time anymore. Those were lies, but I believed them and the world was telling me my relationships were ok. So I tried to validate myself through pop culture, through what the world thought women should look like and do. In that world I was miserable because I was never pretty enough, good enough, or skinny enough to get the validation I was seeking. And my relat...ionships never worked out. They were all deceptive in one way or another and it took me a while to realize that something had to change. It took 10 years before I realized that God’s love was the only validation I needed. My big conversion moment happened in 2005, when I had my reversion back to the Catholic faith and made a conscious choice to turn my life around. I decided enough was enough. I wanted to start over again after carrying around my wounds for such a long time. So that’s when I first came back to the sacraments and to the church, but it’s now evolved into a daily experience. Conversion makes you admit the truth about yourself. Every day, I try to be patient and practice virtue, praying for myself and others. God allows me moments where I see weaknesses and trends, helping me stop and pray. It’s extremely humbling to be honest in prayer, but there’s a lot of hope there too." - Leah Darrow's Testimony. look up this is amazing woman to hear the full story of her turn from Americas next top model, to follower of Christ.

10.01.2022 "Who the son sets free, oh is free indeed. I'm a child of God, yes I am!". - Chosen and not forsaken, free in spirit, mind and body, our God has won this for us! Praise his name. #hillsong #catholic #whoyousayIam #freeindeed

09.01.2022 Saint Pius V (January 17, 1504 May 1, 1572) - Argued to have one of the hardest jobs as a pope, his job was to implement the historic Council of Trent. Because of the constant threat of Turkish invasion, the church was extremely divided and scattered and it was his job during his papacy to reunite the church which had become corrupted. Off and on over 18 years, the Fathers of the Church discussed, condemned, affirmed, and decided upon a course of action. The Council closed ...in 1563. - Pius V was elected in 1566 and charged with the task of implementing the sweeping reforms called for by the Council. He ordered the founding of seminaries for the proper training of priests. He published a new missal, a new breviary, a new catechism, and established the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine classes for the young. Pius zealously enforced legislation against abuses in the Church. He patiently served the sick and the poor by building hospitals, providing food for the hungry, and giving money customarily used for the papal banquets to poor Roman converts. His decision to keep wearing his Dominican habit led to the customto this dayof the pope wearing a white cassock. - Pius’s ceaseless papal quest for a renewal of the Church was grounded in his personal life as a Dominican friar. He spent long hours with his God in prayer, fasted rigorously, deprived himself of many customary papal luxuries, and faithfully observed the spirit of the Dominican Rule that he had professed. 07.01.2022 How do we let Jesus’ heart transform ours? Worship the Sacred Heart. Against those who would dismiss the Sacred Heart as unnecessary or even a superstition, it is hoped the above demonstrates how crucial this devotion is. For Christ’s work of restoration to be complete, our entire humanity must be restored, down to our deepest core. For us to be able to love God with all our hearts, as Scripture commands us, we must have new hearts suited to this purpose. Do you want to accep...t Jesus into your heart? Then accept His Sacred Heart. - Stephen Beale #thecatholicexchange #stephenbeale #sacredheart See more

03.01.2022 "The longing for God is terribly painful and yet the darkness is becoming greater. What contradiction there is in my soul. The pain within is so greatPlease ask Our Lady to be my Mother in this darkness. The place of God in my soul is blankThere is no God in me.... In the darknessLord, my God, who am I that You should forsake me?... The one You have thrown away as unwantedunloved. I call, I cling, I wantand there is no One to answerno One on Whom I can cling no, No One. Alone. The darkness is so darkand I am alone. Before I used to get such help & consolation from spiritual directionfrom the time the work has started nothing." St Mother Teresa - The dark night - A soul who conquered darkness, St Mother Teresa. While she felt little, she loved fervently. Committed fully to Jesus. Sometimes, the desert, and desolation hold lessons for us. It's not about leaving the desert, and finding the oasis. it is finding Jesus in the desert as your oasis.

03.01.2022 "There was no corpse in the tomb, only the linens and cloths He was wrapped in. When Simon Peter finally arrived, he went into the tomb and observed the same: the cloth that covered His face appeared to have been folded carefully and placed, not with the linen cloths, but to the side. After Peter pointed this out, the other disciple also entered the tomb; and based on what he saw, faith began to well up inside him! Before this moment, none of them understood the Scriptures and why He must be raised from the dead." Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel has rise! He has overcome death as a beacon of life, hope and salvation evermore. He has resurrected from the tomb defeating death - praise be to God! We are saved. Thank God and have faith, his love has saved us. Happy Easter!
