23.01.2022 NEWS AND RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK.... Hi everyone, Beautiful golfing weather persists at the moment. The monthly Social on Friday evening celebrated the first Juniors get together, and a total of 21 socialites. We look forward to the next on 4th September. Don’t forget to nominate at the club for the Mens’ Closed Championships Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September.... A Covid Safe reminder is timelymake sure you are seated to eat and drink at the club, and that you sign the visitor sheet if you are not in a competition. There is a sheet in the honour box at number 1 tee, and one at the bar. We, the club, can be heavily fined for not complying, and of course none of us knows if we’ve been in contact with someone who is infected. RESULTS: On Wednesday, 10 ladies competed. The outstanding winner was Cheryl Lloyd with 41 points, followed by Julie Reed on 35, Bruna Quadrio on 34, and Deb Giles on 33 points. Friday saw just two ladies in a competition. Deb Giles scored 32 points. On Saturday, 19 players took to the field to compete in a stableford, for what became a momentous day for Randi Tuxworth. Randi can putt from anywhere, we all say, but she avoided that necessity by scoring a rare HOLE-IN-ONE on number 9. What a fantastic achievement. She then went on to trounce the opposition with 44 points. Fred Smith followed with 4o points (if only Randi hadn’t got a gazillion points for her hole in one!!!!) and Ian Swarbrick scored 39 in the run down. Sunday fielded a great comp with 31 players in a stroke event. Steve Hart took the honours with a very credible 68, followed by Julie Reed on 70, and run-down prizes went to Fred Smith, Neil Edwards, Allan Cockburn and Don Jurd all on 71. This weekend will include a Stableford select on Saturday and the Monthly Medal event on Sunday. Happy golfing everyone.. Cheryl

Some upcoming events for which your support is welcome include: This Friday we will host social golf. The bar will be open from about 4pm and some spaced (!) nibbles from about 5pm. 03.01.2022 Hi everyone, The final official function of the year, the INGHAM GOLF CLUB PRESENTATION NIGHT was held on Friday, with around 65 guests who enjoyed great food cooked by Brad and Sonia Morley, and Damien and Jamie DiBella and salads and desserts supplied by so many of you members and families. It was all delicious and led to a great night. This was my last duty as kitchen coordinator and I want to briefly indulge myself and give my public heartfelt thanks to all of you who hav...e fronted up, time after time, to help and make it so much fun. Obviously the job couldn’t possibly have been done without you. Such a night creates a big cleanup the next day and we are all truly grateful for Sue and Ian Cameron and Bobbie Marriott who arrived in their worker bee outfits and magicked a clean clubhouse and, just to top it off, made pork rolls for players.
