19.01.2022 Keep your eyes open for ticks on your pet's skin this spring season. A good tip is to check them when you're giving them a brush.

18.01.2022 We'll reveal the answer to this tricky 'Who Am I' video tomorrow!

17.01.2022 "I'll just be five minutes!" On a hot day, heatstroke can happen in under 10 minutes in a car. The inside temperature in your car on a hot day can rise by almost 20 degrees in five minutes. Even if you're just running into the shops, never leave your dog in the car.

17.01.2022 Be mindful of decorations that are dangling or are within reach of pets, these can easily be a choking or injury hazard and can cause a gastrointestinal obstruction. Put your tree in a room off limits to your furry family member, or ensure there are no decorations hanging where they can reach.

16.01.2022 During the First World War, red poppies were among the first plants to spring up in the devastated battlefields of northern France and Belgium. We continue to use the poppy today as a symbol of remembrance for those who have been lost in the line of duty. Lest we forget

15.01.2022 This year we want to bring special attention to Mental Health Day. Now more than ever it is so important that we take the time to evaluate our own mental health, and acknowledge the mental health of others. You can make a promise to yourself to commit to your mental health and find other helpful resources here: https://lookafteryourmentalhealthaustralia.org.au/

13.01.2022 The answer to yesterday's who am I is.. A Dachshund! That one was a little tricky, who got it right?

12.01.2022 With the weather heating up and restrictions easing, many families with furry family members are getting back into nature and taking their dogs out with them. This raises the question of how to safely take your dog on a hike. https://bestforpet.com.au/so-youre-taking-your-pet-on-a-hi/

11.01.2022 Christmas accessories and outfits might be cute for us humans, but they can cause your pet stress, discomfort and may even be a choking hazard. We don't recommend outfits for your pets, but if you choose to, make sure you monitor them at all times and remove any costumes at the first sign of stress.

11.01.2022 Things are heating up! Remember that our pet's paws are sensitive to heat the same way our feet are! If you're unsure if the pavement is too hot to walk on, put your hand to the pavement for five seconds, if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your dog!

11.01.2022 Be mindful of the heat! Taking your dog on a long walk in the heat can be uncomfortable for them and cause dehydration. If it's a particularly hot day, try to walk them in the cooler hours.

11.01.2022 Have you been paying attention? The answers to these questions are jumbled but can be found in our posts throughout the month! Can you get them all right?

10.01.2022 Did you know that all our Best for Pet members get an unlimited number of consultations included in their membership? How's that for peace of mind.

09.01.2022 If you’ve ever had a pet in pain then you know that they seem to suffer in silence. Unlike us, your pets can’t tell you when they’re in pain and oftentimes show few observable symptoms. Here are a few things to keep an eye out for that may indicate that your furry family member is feeling discomfort. https://bestforpet.com.au/how-to-tell-if-your-pet-is-in-pa/

07.01.2022 Are your plants pet safe? It’s spring and there are lots of flowers in bloom. Take some time to familiarise yourself with a few of the flowers and plants that may be toxic to your pet. https://bestforpet.com.au/flowers-and-plants-that-are-toxi/

07.01.2022 50 eggs in one day!? Avoid infestation! Did you know fleas are the most common parasite in the world? Perhaps not a surprise when adult fleas can lay up to 50 eggs a day which can quickly cause an infestation in your home.

05.01.2022 Happy Australia Day!

05.01.2022 It's warming up and our pets might need more water than usual to keep them cool and hydrated. Some signs of overheating in pets may include: Panting Lack of coordination Lethargy

05.01.2022 This spring season, make sure to check your pet regularly for the first signs of fleas.

05.01.2022 The answer to yesterday's video is. A Siberian Husky! Who got it right??

04.01.2022 Have you thought about your plans for New Years Eve? Remember to keep in mind that your pets might react poorly to the sounds and lights of fireworks. If you're concerned about your pet this New Year's Eve, make sure to book an appointment with your vet today to discuss your options.
