25.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE: Bowls Victoria today participated in a number of meetings with various agencies and the State Government, which have resulted in confirmation o...f a number of changes to our previous advice. This advice is current as of today, 30th October 2020, and affects both Metro Melbourne and Regional Victoria. There are 3 key areas of change: Masks are now mandatory, and all conflicting information has been corrected. This is a Victorian Government directive. Further detail can be found in the Return to Play Guidelines below. We have received clarification that access clubhouses is permitted where there is a bar, café or restaurant. Clubs which only have a clubhouse, with no hospitality offering, are only permitted to open toilets and changerooms. & Groups of up to 10 people are permitted outdoors/on greens, but groups must now be 10m apart. This rule does not apply to pennant, pennant practice or other state events. Information on this change can be found in the sections titled Number of players and the Types of Competitions. We understand that the ongoing changes will be causing frustration, however be prepared that there will likely be more to come and quite likely prior to the next round of major changes due to be announced on the 8th of November. Revised Return to Play Guidelines can be found here: https://bit.ly/3jNEbRm Stay safe. Look after your mates.

23.01.2022 Inglewood Green will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday 13th) as the Greenkeepers will be mowing and preparing the surrounds, etc. of the green. The Executive will be having a discussion tomorrow also, to set out the guide lines for bowls practise - no Club Events or Competitions are to be played (as per instructions from Bowls Vic) and will send out other advice via Email and on our Facebook page tomorrow.
23.01.2022 Dear Member Clubs, We first must say that we are very aware of the impact of Covid-19 on our community and feel a great deal of empathy towards individuals and ...clubs. These are tough times. Our thoughts are with anyone who is unwell, and we wish them a speedy recovery. The damage caused by Covid-19 worldwide is nothing short of horrific. In a financial sense, we hope all clubs and members dont experience hardship, but thats not the reality and we too have friends/family who have been stood down from work and clubs impacted. We know this will be felt by many. As you are aware, the BV Board set the 2020-21 affiliation fee at no increase on last year, with extended payment terms and an expanded hardship program before the 2nd wave of COVID-19. What we had hoped, was that we would be back playing by now. Unfortunately, thats not the case and we have seen more damaging lockdowns with Stage 4 in Metropolitan Melbourne and Stage 3 in Regional Victoria. We appreciate how hard this situation is on our member clubs and are looking to our State Government for financial assistance. Our position after our Board meeting today is to see what the State Government announcement will be once the current Government-enforced lockdown is reviewed in mid-September. We are hopeful that by that time we will have a clearer picture on the impact to the 2020-21 season. The Boards intention is to reduce affiliation fees for this year in line with the impact to the season and the measures that some other states have undertaken. Naturally the detail is fluid given the current situation which we are watching closely. We have also resolved today to waive any payment for Pennant Permits this coming season as we know many bowlers will be having difficulties travelling from clubs to their homes due to border closures/restrictions. Please be patient with us, we want to make sure we are making the right decision and not constantly making subsequent decisions as the situation changes. Keep well and keep safe. President (on behalf of the BV Board)
22.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE: Victorian bowlers, we can breathe easy again out on the greens The State Government’s recent announcement that the relaxation of masks app...lies to bowls is a welcome relief. All other changes from the Premier’s announcement yesterday are being discussed today with government and we will endeavour to release a updated Return to Play Guidelines for bowls later today. 12.01.2022 The Inglewood Bowling Green is now open to Members only for practise. There are some simple rules for us to follow to adhere to the advice issued by Bowls Victoria yesterday to keep everyone safe: Please register when attending the Club for practise - there is a registration form on the Clubhouse Notice Board (Date, name , time in and time out are mandatory (print clearly) phone numbers are optional for members (due to privacy concerns) as the Club has all members contact... numbers to assist with contact tracing if required. There are only 5 rinks open for practise - the rinks in between are to remain closed for social distancing. Hand Sanitizer is available at the sign in area and on the table near the Mat Shed. Disinfectant is also available on the table near the Mat Shed for use on the Kitty and Mats. Practicing Bowls: Clubs are permitted to have 10 people maximum per green. Rinks must be positioned a minimum of 1.5 metres apart at all times. Maximum of 4 Bowlers per rink at any one time. Bowlers should practice social distancing (1.5 meters apart) at all times. Facility Use: Clubs may use toilets at their facility. Club house, eating areas, indoor sitting areas, showers and change rooms must remain closed. The Clubhouse Bar is closed and will remain so until further notice. General Information: Members should be aware that Bowls are limited to practise only. Please adhere to numbers permitted at the Bowling Club. Dont hog the Green and please leave to allow others to practise when necessary - if you have been there for a while (45 minutes?), the numbers allowed at the club are at their maximum of 10 and other members have turned up looking to have a practice. We will be keeping an eye on proceedings with regular checks, as we cant be there all the time. Being only a small club it should be easy to comply with the above requirements and failure to do so is not an option.
