24.01.2022 Bowen therapy - the unique tool to greater wellbeing (My story) Through my 10 years of career in professional sport, playing European handball for Russia, I sustained variety of injuries and used to have remedial, sports massages, trigger point therapy as main tools to assist with recovery and rehabilitation. I also had a view that strong and deep muscle manipulation is the best way to get relief from pain and discomfort. When I first experienced Bowen therapy, I was intrigue...d about how such gentle touch can bring so much overall relaxation and great relief to the pain and tension in my shoulder, after just one treatment. I also had the best sleep that night. The shoulder pain disappeared completely after two more treatments. Since then I have been using Bowen therapy as my main tool to relax, reset and rebalance my body. 10 years ago I decided to became fully qualified Advanced Bowen practitioner myself. Learning and practicing Bowen therapy, the technique that was originated in Geelong by Tom Bowen in 1950th, provided me with a greater understanding of uniqueness of the body and its innate powerful healing properties and repair functions. Bowen therapy is a wholistic technique that stimulates the neuro-muscular physiology with the aim of balancing the body's energy flows and encouraging self-healing and repair through relaxation. Outcome is reduction of stress and pain level, greater mobility, accelerated recovery from sports injuries, increased energy, improved circulation and lymphatic drainage and much more. Due to the treatment being very gentle and non-invasive, it is ideal for everyone, including babies, children, aged and during pregnancy. Bowen therapy is my favourite 'bring body to balance' treatment that I offer in my 'Tap into Vitality' wellness clinic, along with other services. I love that it is wholistic, gentle and relaxing and addresses the whole person, while treatments can be customised to every individual's needs.

23.01.2022 My first experience with Bowen therapy was about 15 years ago. I had a chronic shoulder problem and my massage therapist was puzzled after treating it few times with massage and not having much success. She offered me to try Bowen therapy. She introduced it as very different to massage, unique, gentle and effective. She also suggested for me to take time off so to have a very good rest after the treatment. During the treatment I was so intrigued about how such gentle moves ...over the skin on different parts of the body, with pauses in between, could make me feel so relaxed. I went home and had the best sleep that night. I also had great relief from the pain and tension in my shoulder. I needed two more treatments where the therapist worked mainly on my knees and jaw to finally be pain free. I knew then that this therapy is something I wanted to study later, so I did, it was 10 years ago. Working now myself as a wellness practitioner, I consider Bowen therapy as being one of my favourite 'bring body to the balance’ treatments, as it in a ‘very intelligent and gentle way’ helps the body to relax, reset and repair.

21.01.2022 What was my life like before Bowen therapy? I look at picture below, and what comes to my mind is nearly 20 years of my life in Russia devoted to European handball (the Olympic game that is super popular in Europe but hardly known to Australians). I started playing at the age of 11, and spent 10 years playing it professionally, including time in the Russian National team. It was tough, with 2-3 training sessions per day and lots of injuries, but it gave great satisfaction an...d character development. It all stopped suddenly due to a career ending knee injury. What followed was an amazing offer from my sister to come to Australia to join the family. I always think that something is guiding us in this life. It was 1998. I needed to start my life from scratch. I had to learn a new language, and integrate with a new culture. I worked as an optical fibre assistant and then as a risk management officer. With a big passion to help people to feel better, I studied remedial massage, Bowen therapy and wellness coaching. With my amazing family support, I am forever grateful for all my life and work experiences, but two are absolute highlights becoming a mum and learning Bowen therapy. See more

12.01.2022 BOWEN THERAPY HELPING TOOL TOWARDS BETTER HEALTH When I first experienced Bowen therapy, I was very surprised how gentle and relaxing the treatment was and how greatly it actually relieved pain and tension in my upper and lower back. Having behind 10 years career in the professional sport, during which I used to get most painful sports massages and trigger point therapy to relieve muscle tension, and a person who then just graduated diploma in remedial massage, I was very i...ntrigued how such gentle touch can bring such difference to the muscle tension and stress level after just one treatment. Learning and practicing Bowen therapy brought me so much understanding of the uniqueness of our bodies and their own healing properties and repair functions. Bowen therapy, was developed in Australia in the 1950s-60s in Geelong, by Tom Bowen. It is a form of very gentle therapeutic soft tissue manipulation that aims to treat the muscles, tendons, nerves and fascia - sheets of connective tissues that are present throughout the body. During a treatment a Bowen Therapy practitioner uses thumbs and fingers to gently shift muscles and tissues. This non-invasive technique stimulates the neuro-muscular physiology with the aim of balancing and stimulating the body's energy flows and encouraging self-healing and repair. Outcome is often rapid, long term remission from acute and chronic conditions, including pain, sports injuries, greater mobility, increased energy, improved circulation, lymphatic drainage, detoxification and reduction of the stress level. Other important benefits of Bowen Therapy are that due to it being very gentle and non-invasive it is ideal for everyone, including babies, children, aged and during pregnancy. Bowen therapy is now one of my favourite treatment I offer in my wellness clinic, along with other modalities. 12.01.2022 Bowen Therapy is a very beneficial treatment to assist you in managing every day stress. Gentle Bowen moves help restoring balance in the autonomic nervous system, prompting a shift from the stressed fight or flight state, to rest and repair dominance. It’s not uncommon for clients to fall into a state of deep relaxation during treatment, when many will fall asleep on the table. I often hear the comments from my clients about best sleep they had after the session and ...feeling more energetic and calm. It is so amazing to observe how just after a few gentle moves body just enters into deep relaxing state that is allowing the body to 'let go' of the muscle tension so it can rebalance and realign.
