24.01.2022 TIPS FOR TALKING TO CHILDREN ABOUT PERSONAL SAFETY Over the next few weeks we will be dedicating time to sharing information about protecting children. Please c...heck in with our page regularly to view the info and share your thoughts and ideas. Today I’m sharing this tip sheet from Play Your Part. It’s excellent at explaining how we can talk to children about their personal safety. Tips like:- Use everyday activities (such as preparing meals and snacks, going for walks, playing, shopping) as opportunities for conversations. If children are used to having lots of communication, it can make it easier to talk when big or tricky issues come up Don’t rush into problem-solving. Your child might just want you to listen, and to know that their feelings and point of view matter to someone How do you talk to your kids about safety? Let us know by commenting below. 20.01.2022 Many break-ins are via forced entry through the attached garage. Once inside, thieves have direct access to your home. You can prevent this with the following t...ips: Install a solid, exterior grade door between your home's interior and the garage. Install a deadbolt on that door and keep it locked. Keep your garage door remote with you. Do not store it in your car. Always keep your car locked, even when it's parked in the garage. Make sure the garage door and motor are regularly serviced to keep them in tip-top working order. Brandi Ibrao via Unsplash

18.01.2022 Hello, My name is Adam Nesbitt and my wife and I own a small cafe in Warwick QLD. Last week my wife made the grim discovery that some disgusting individual had... emptied their caravan toilet cassette into our cleaning sink at the rear of our shop and left it for us to clean up. Unbeknown to him his every move was caught by our security camera. I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind sharing this with your community along with the photos from our camera in the hope of someone recognising him and coming forward with information so we can put our local police in touch with him. 15.01.2022 BREAKING: From 1am on Thursday, October 1, we’re increasing the number of people who can gather at venues and events, as long as it’s outdoors. It means busine...sses like outdoor dining, beer gardens, theme parks and zoos, can increase the number of patrons outdoors from one per 4 square metres to one per 2 square metres. The maximum number of attendees permitted at events with a COVID Safe Checklist will increase from 500 to 1,000 per day. Seated capacity at outdoor stadiums, amphitheatres and outdoor performance venues with a COVID Safe Plan can increase from up to 50% to up to 75%. This is another safe, measured step to support Queensland businesses and ensure the economy rebounds - not the virus. #covid19

08.01.2022 "On 12.21.2020 (the December solstice), Jupiter and Saturn will align so closely in the night sky that they'll create a radiant point of light some call the "So...lstice Star," "Star of Bethlehem" or the "Christmas Star." "Alignments between these two planets are rather rare, occurring once every 20 years or so, but this conjunction is exceptionally rare because of how close the planets will appear to be to one another," said Patrick Hartigan, an astronomer at Rice University. "You'd have to go all the way back to just before dawn on March 4, 1226, to see a closer alignment between these objects visible in the night sky." The event, sometimes referred to as The Great Conjunction, occurs roughly every 19 to 20 years, but this is the closest the planets will line up in the night sky since the Middle Ages." full story: Jupiter and Saturn Will Align to Create the First "Christmas Star" in Nearly 800 Years https://www.yahoo.com//jupiter-saturn-align-create-first-2 BTW, you don't have to wait until December 21st to view the planets!! Saturn and Jupiter can be found in the evening sky right after the sun sets, every evening. They are getting closer and closer day by day, and can be seen even more clearly through a telescope. The Geminids meteor shower is also happening this month.. 03.01.2022 La Niña pattern could go BANG La Niña pattern is here but it’s not really expected to have a direct impact on us until late December or from January to about M...arch In the meantime this will ALLOW the atmosphere to succumbed to heat and humidity and with La Niña pattern it’s going to turn into a ticking time bomb Once this all comes together be prepared as history has shown in similiar patterns for Qld including Seq has succumbed to multiple cyclones We don’t know exactly how bad or how many systems will cross the coast at this stage But queensland could be facing one of our most active cyclone seasons in decades Now if you don’t want to listen to me don’t leave nasty or smart comments just keep scrolling or leave.
