19.01.2022 May is our Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, however, due to Covid19 restrictions we are unable to gather for a community event this year. Innisfail Domestic Violence Support Service in partnership with Innisfail QPS are promoting the ‘Not Now, Not Ever. Together’ 2020 Campaign. We will be engaging the public to join with us by way of a paper silhouette person to represent their stance in Working together to end Domestic and Family Violence. ... There will be flyers and bookmarks provided with information on this year’s ‘Not Now, Not Ever. Together’ Campaign as well as local available service contact details. People can choose to have their name (or anon) put on the cut out silhouette to recognise their involvement in the campaign. The campaign will culminate in a virtual event at the end of the month with the silhouettes being displayed on Saturday 30th May 2020 at Fitzgerald Esplanade 5pm (weather permitting). We endeavour to have a strong media coverage of the virtual event to send the message far and wide and to show our community coming together to support the ‘Not Now, Not Ever. Together’ Campaign. We kindly ask you to support this event by dropping in to our office at IYFC 2/28 Rankin Street to have your name placed on one of our paper silhouettes. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has already supported this initiative so far to help put an END to Domestic and Family Violence. Please share this post so we can spread the message and get as many community members on board a possible

12.01.2022 Don’t forget that this week is the last week of May, which means the LAST WEEK OF DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION MONTH!! Get behind the DV Awareness event by coming and writing your name on a silhouette so we can display our community coming together to END Domestic and Family Violence. We will have a stall set up on Rankin Street for the remainder of the week

07.01.2022 Staff of Innisfail Youth & Family Care would like to remind everyone to light a candle and engage in a minute of silence tonight at 6pm to remember those who have sadly lost their lives at the hands of Domestic Violence. We encourage you to take a photo, post it on Facebook and tag this page so we can share your tributes and shed light on Domestic and Family Violence. We as a community need to come together now more than ever as we live through these incredibly tough times

06.01.2022 The month of May is our Domestic Violence Prevention Month, which aims to raise community awareness of the social and personal impacts of Domestic and Family Violence and the support that is available to those affected. Due to Covid19, we have had to alter our usual gathering of a Candle Light Vigil and instead we ask you all to light a candle at home and join us for a minute of silence tomorrow May 6th at 6pm to remember those who have sadly passed away at the hands of Domestic Violence. Some gift bags have been done up that can be collected tomorrow at 2/28 Rankin Street Innisfail. We would love if you could take a photo of your candles, share it to Facebook and tag our page to help spread awareness of Domestic and Family Violence
