01.01.2022 IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED!! Migaloo the White Whale has been spotted off Port Douglas this week. His identity has been confirmed through the analysis of particular ...markings on parts of his body (right side dorsal, peduncle knobs and the top side fluke). Every humpback has its own unique grid markings similar to fingerprints on a human being which allows us to tell individuals apart. This is the earliest Migallo has ever been sighted this far north (e.g. in 2015 he was sighted at this time going through the Cook straight in New Zealand). The question is why? Thank you to the crew and passengers on Quicksilver Cruises & Wavedancer Low Isles and Wavelength Reef Cruises for these great pics.
