19.01.2022 Starting Prep is a milestone for all children and parents/carers. It's an exciting time but can also be stressful. A smooth transition is more likely if parents/carers have all the tools and information about what to expect and how to build a positive relationship with their school. Inspired Carers and Association for Children with a Disability (ACD) are running a free online workshop series in mid November for parents/carers who have a child with a disability or developmental delay starting prep in 2021. The workshop will be hosted by Nicole O'Brien (Inspired Carers) and delivered in three sixty minute sessions over three consecutive weeks. Full details and registration in the Eventbrite link.

15.01.2022 Researchers at Scope, a disability service, are testing a survey that explores the impact that services or supports have on children/ young people with disability. The researchers are inviting carers of children/ young people (0-14 years of age) with disability to help them test the survey. Taking part involves carers completing the survey online, which takes about 10 to 15 minutes. We know that this is a pressured time for everyone at the moment, and if you can spare the time we would greatly appreciate it. Having carer input in this research is very important to us. Your family may be managing things differently due to Covid-19, which could mean changes to your child's NDIS Plan. A Plan Review meeting is your opportunity to talk to the NDIS Planner about the changes your child needs over the next 12 months. It may seem daunting at first, but an annual review is a fantastic opportunity to tailor your child’s plan to their changing needs and goals. So,... it’s important you make the most of it. Our FREE NDIS Plan Review workshop is coming up in late November and will cover: Planning for your NDIS Plan Review Informing the Planner how Covid-19 may have changed your child’s support needs Types of Plan Reviews Gathering supporting evidence Extending or rolling-over NDIS Plans Evidencing over and underspend Register now - places are limited and bookings essential.
