24.01.2022 Today's inspirational quote comes from one of my favourite entertainers from my childhood. I remember racing in from dance class to jump in front of the TV in my parent's room and tune in to the good old ABC to watch I Love Lucy re-runs. But as much as she made me laugh until I cried, I have come to realise as I grow older that it really is impossible to get ahead and do what you want to do in this world without loving yourself first...

24.01.2022 I've been talking a lot recently about overwork and exhaustion, particularly with some clients who've recently grown their businesses and in the process built a team. These conversations reminded me of a blog post I wrote a few years ago about creating a lead by example based leadership culture particularly around good self-care practices. Many of us take great care to look after our team. Ensuring they don't feel stressed, overworked or unsupported. But we tend to be not so ...good at applying those same principles to ourselves. If you haven't read my blog then I suggest you check it out - you'll find the link in this post. https://inspiredoffice.com.au/lead-by-example/ But I would also love to hear from you... Do you lead by example and model a positive work/life balance to your team or do you struggle with this I like so many of us?

24.01.2022 So, while I know and setup a lot of different CRMs for clients - the fact of the matter is that Dubsado is my hands down favourite! It is so versatile, the only limiting factor is your imagination. The good news: they are currently having a sale! The bad news: it ends tomorrow... ... So, if you've been ummming and ahhhing over it, now is the time to act! Visit www.inspiredoffice.com.au/dubsado to check it out!

24.01.2022 Client Love Thanks so much, Mikala. I can’t tell you what a weight off my mind it is being able talk to you and get your advice. There Are So Many THINGS! But I feel like I’m getting there, thanks to your logical approach. Check out Suzy's website www.suzycooper.com.au

My secret weapon against this time zone nemesis? Savvy Time - Time Zone Converter. It is by far one of my favourite (and most used) Google Chrome extensions. It's simple, easy to use and accessible. So here's where I need your help - what are your favourite "must reads" either for business or pleasure? You tell me yours and I'll tell you mine

16.01.2022 The thing you fear most has no power. Your fear of it is what has the power. Facing the truth really will set you free. This is a big one for me as I gear up for a number of public speaking engagements over the next month. I used to be really good at public speaking and be able to stand up in front of an audience of hundreds without even blinking. But a lack of practice over the years had me slightly terrified of stepping into the spotlight again. ... Then my voice coach reminded me that I've done it before, so I can do it again. But this time better because I'm older and wiser. For me overcoming fear is about practice, practice that which scares you because a) you prove to yourself that you can do it and b) before you know it you will be so used to doing it that you will wonder what about it scared you in the first place! Oh, and if anyone is looking for a fantastic voice coach to help you develop, re-awaken or re-hone your public speaking and presentations skills shoot me a DM, I know a great one!

12.01.2022 Are you a planner or a procrastinator? We've all heard the saying "failing to plan is planning to fail", but I do wonder how many of us actually plan out our week. And by this I don't mean having a vague idea about what you are going to do when, I mean actually having your tasks written out as actionable steps and scheduled into your diary on a particular date at a particular time. I'm generally pretty good at planning out tasks and scheduling my week - I mean, I've been wor...king and developing eLearning courses for a productivity company for the past 6 years, but over the past few months I've been experimenting with a game-changing practice called Monday Hour One taught by @lifecoachschool. Monday Hour One has totally upped not only my productivity game, but has also dropped my procrastination levels to pretty close to zero. I thought I was really good with procrastination before, I was wrong... I'm going to spend the next month or so experimenting and refining the way I work even more, then in January 2021 I'll be announcing a series of power sessions to share what I have learned and help you and other awesome female business owners to up your "get $hit done" game too!

Annie, my out of office assistant, is in charge and loves to chat, so don't be afraid to send me an email while I'm gone I hope you manage to take some time out for yourself during these holidays to disconnect from work, rest and recharge! x

08.01.2022 "When you're thinking about changing a belief system, you don't have to change every single thought. You just have to poke holes at it enough that it eventually topples over." - Lauren Cash, Master Coach at The Life Coach School ... Love this quote! Kinda makes you feel like you can do anything, doesn't it?

07.01.2022 The other day I was listening to a great podcast episode by Amy Porterfield about business mentors. Amy says: It’s important to find a mentor who aligns with your vision and the goals that you have set for your business. But it is also possible to have too many mentors which causes confusion, overwhelm and can stop you moving forward in your business.... For me, 3 is the magic mentor number: 1. @amyporterfield (the woman herself) from whom I learn everything about digital marketing, digital courses and content creation. 2. Brooke Castillo from the @lifecoachschool from who I learn all about managing my mind to move forward in all aspects of my life and business. I'm also in Brooke's #selfcoachingscholars program and couldn't recommend it highly enough. 3. @marieforleo who amongst other things provides great practical advice on how to overcome the day-to-day "things" that pop up in business and how to make a contribution through your business Curious to learn more? Check out Amy's podcast episode - she also has a great freebie to help you find the right mentor! www.amyporterfield.com/313

06.01.2022 Hi - crazy cause today I'm here but also not here... I'm still on leave this week disconnected from work and spending time with my family. But in my present absence, I wanted to share with you another really relevant blog post from my archive: The importance of going offline.... We live in a screen-centric society. We spend all day in front of screens at work. Our kids now spend a lot of their time in front of screens at school (particularly at highschool). And when we come home? You guessed it - a lot of us use screens to unwind. So I'd like to set you a challenge. Make the commitment to log out and take yourself offline for your next family holiday or weekend away. Schedule your social media. Set an out of office reply. and if you feel the need, post a message in your personal accounts to let your friends and family know that you're not ignoring them, just going offline. To learn more check out my blog - I've linked to it in the post. https://inspiredoffice.com.au/the-importance-of-going-offl/

06.01.2022 Wise words for both business and life.

06.01.2022 The sole purpose of alerts and notifications is to draw your attention away from what you are currently doing and make you pay attention to something else. Studies show that when we are focusing on a task and interrupted it takes our brains an average of 23 minutes to return or focus to what we were working on before the interruption. 23 minutes! If you want to learn more about why I think you are better off not knowing and should turn off your alerts, check out my latest blo...g post. https://www.inspiredoffice.com.au/why-youre-better-off-not/

06.01.2022 So many times in life we get caught up in striving, perfectionism, people pleasing and wanting to be, do and have more. Complexity isn't the answer. Try simplicity instead. P.S. this applies to everything - your tech and task list included!

06.01.2022 STOP! Buffer time... Managing your time (and headspace) is so critical to being a happy, healthy entrepreneur. If you use a scheduling app (think Calendly or Acuity) you can add buffer time before and after your appointments in your appointment or event settings. ... Check out this article about LinkedIn CEO's Jeff Weiner to learn more about why it is so important and how to do it. https://www.inc.com//jeff-weiner-buffer-time-work-at-home-

03.01.2022 Boredom is the birthplace for a lot of amazing things.
