20.01.2022 THANK YOU DERBY . For a week now, I have been trying to find the right words to express my BIG emotions and what I feel in my heart as we depart Derby. No words have come forth that appropriately articulate all that... . So...I am going to practice what I have been practicing when I facilitate yoga experiences lately and that’s less words.... . 18.01.2022 I missed a shout out to this fabulous yogini a couple of weeks ago for her 70th Birthday & I really feel she deserves to be celebrated . HAPPY BELATED 70TH BIRTHDAY MARY . I’m sure most of the Derby morning yoga regulars will agree with me when I say that Mary is so dedicated & committed to her yoga & wellbeing it’s nothing short of inspiring.... . Don’t be fooled about Mary’s ability as you check out the pics below as she is more than capable. We adapted and modified the odd thing here and there for her old knees and again now as she builds strength and stability with her new knees. . I love hearing about Mary showing her grandkids how to do yoga when it’s quite often the other way around with kids and grandparents. . The Derby Yoga & wider Community love you Mary just as much as you love them, I’m sure. . Keep being amazing! . 18.01.2022 Pre-Christmas Chill Out - Wednesday 23rd December 7pm - 9pm (AWST) . It goes without saying that the lead up to Christmas can be a busy and stressful time. Some of us find the Christmas period tough and this year is certainly no exception. Find a quiet space if you can, and join me for extended relaxation in this 2hr restorative yoga class, where we will re-TREAT "in" and be with whatever arises whilst being held in a safe and calm online environment. You have permission ...to put the Christmas check list and the "doing" aside here. Let's enter Christmas feeling refreshed & replenished or in a place where we are able to better support whatever feelings Christmas brings up for us. The beauty about this online opportunity is that you can allow the emotions to flow - camera on or off - and slide into bed for a restful nights sleep straight after. . The class will be recorded so if you book in and can't make it live, then it will be emailed to all enrolled participants as a valuable resource for the Christmas period. . Pay what you feel/can with all proceeds going to my Christmas Charity of choice this year and that's the RUN DIPG charity. This charity is dedicated to improving outcomes for patients and their families impacted by the deadliest form of childhood cancer. . 15.01.2022 I’m dreaming up small & quiet for 2021 . Small, intimate offerings of meaningful connection that do not need to be shouted to the world, just like what I currently have on offer at the moment: . Wednesday Online Yoga @9:30am... Private one-on-one Yoga. . Offerings of calm and quiet for me and community. . As I start to reclaim my biorhythms and tune into my cyclic human nature (especially as a woman), the following by Maya Tiwari has really come forth for me: . "If we are to achieve any degree of consciousness, we need to take the quantum pause, shaken our pace, and slow down so that we may create the inner space and time to reassess our priorities". . Whilst it has taken me just about the whole f**** year to actually slow down and re-prioritise, 2020 and all that's happened has really pulled me into presence. . I have popped a new journal entry on my website if you wish to read more about the scratch on the surface of my year... . https://yogadesire.com.au/journal . Big love Taz . P.s - if you are joining me online this week and you are new to my classes please contact me in advance so that I can get to know a little bit about you so that I can best support you in class. . on Noongar Country, Booyup (Boyup Brook) See more
15.01.2022 When the fog starts to lift again... and your privilege & awareness of the life lottery brings you back to gratitude... Yoga is back this week everyone. My week of giving myself a bit more space seemed to consist of baking bread, eating lots of Turkish delight and hanging quietly with my plant friends ... For those that receive my electronic love notes, I popped a little update into your inbox this morning about a special Derby delight - two yoga and sound healing events with @creatingbalancetheralies & me. An opportunity to immerse in self-care, collective & community care. and for those that are going through a not so peachy time atm, I want to leave these simple and clear words that I have found helpful to communicate when you are MIA following loss & prefer the comfort of your safety zone...(in case it’s helpful for others)... I’m finding it hard to spend time with people at the moment because the feelings and conversations it sparks are hard to handle - Pip Lincolne from the book When Life Is Not Peachy (thank you @jessasippalatte) Still going gently, Taz x . . . a memory of being on Bardi Jawi country with our gentle giant See more

04.01.2022 Re-writing my Yoga Desire During my recent break which included time travelling down the WA coast in our camper trailer, open roads, lots of puppy cuddles & family time, I reflected deeply on the wellness industry and my participation in it. If you would like to read more on my Yoga Desire, here is the link:... https://yogadesire.com.au/about Thank you to the following yoga teacher champions who have prompted me to question (a lot) & shaped my thoughts on equity and social justice in Yoga Jivana Heyman & Amber Karnes from @accessibleyoga Michelle Cassandra Johnson author of the book @skillinaction @drgailparker, Ph.D author of the book Restorative Yoga for Ethical & Race-Based Stress & Trauma. 01.01.2022 It does feel uncomfortable that we should continue to enjoy our freedoms out of pure luck & circumstance here in Western Australia whilst friends and family on the east coast continue to be in lock down. A situation mirrored & discomfort felt during many other worldly situations. Being able to spend time with one side of the family and not the other...words echoed by many. As such, treading lightly with a compassionate & grateful heart . Feeling every thankful for the oppo...rtunity of the last 2 weeks to have zoned in and not out (how often do I say that in yoga) as we explored the magic of the East Kimberley. . And a nice welcome home was an inbox full of bookings which means that the Derby Delight 6pm Yoga & Sound Healing event with @creatingbalancetherapies and I is now sold out Early birds, there are still some remaining spots for the 5:45am morning session on the 9th September. 01.01.2022 My heart just expanded . Earlier in the week, Mowanjum Arts & I said good bye to the @kimberley_yoga_attire project to make way for something new and exciting. The art centre are hoping to collaborate with other Aboriginal Art Centres across the Kimberley to bring to life a new line of Aboriginal apparel. Together they have a greater capacity to raise the profile of Aboriginal Artists and Culture in the Kimberley. . I would particularly like to thank Amelia, Gudu, Cissy, Sh...ontae, Stan, Ella, Barry & Doone from @mowanjum_arts for there special part in bringing this beautiful collaborative project to life it’s been so fun working alongside you guys! . Also a huge thank you to all the Yogi’s across Australia and the world who shopped to support @kimberley_yoga_attire . And an additional little shout out to Mowanjum Arts & budding artist @ciissymariie who very generously donated a print of her award winning work dumbi to a charity auction for a very special little girl and family that I care so much about. . I will continue to be the best ally I can. . Big love Taz See more
01.01.2022 Pre-Christmas Chill Out 23rd December 7pm - 9pm a 2hr Restorative Yoga online offering dedicated to the RUN DIPG charity. Some further reading for those thinking about joining - . I used to attend an extended restorative yoga class around Christmas time with one of my teachers, @tamarayoga when I lived close and it was my favourite and most needed class of the year. Last year Jono and I ran two back-to-back (over two weekends) sold out pre-Christmas "Chill Out" Mini Retre...ats in Derby. . A restorative Yoga class generally involves stillness and silence, however I will provide a suitable playlist for you to indulge in at home if you prefer. Your body is well supported through the use of props (can be blankets, pillows, bedding and other comforts from the home) for maximum ease so you are able to hold shapes for an extended time with the aim to reduce muscular effort & drift into a deeply restful state. Over the 2hr period we cover 8-10 shapes. The power is in the restorative yoga and the be-ing. . Once you book in, I will send you a zoom link to join the class with information on what to resource yourself with prop wise & suggestions on how to set your space, to ready yourself. . Pay what you feel/can with all proceeds going to my Christmas Charity of choice this year and that's the RUN DIPG charity. This charity is dedicated to improving outcomes for patients and their families impacted by the deadliest form of childhood cancer. . Bookings by donation https://yogadesire.com.au/pre-christmas-%22chill-out%22 . Reach out with any questions, friends. If you are able to put a couple of hours to the side in the lead up to Chrissie then I would love to see you! x . Love Taz See more
