24.01.2022 Yes it's true! One of the biggest challenges we can face as leaders can be the role we play in resolving conflict. But it doesn't have to be hard. Using a model (such as Extended DISC) can help us to short cut results when it comes to communication. You might not get it right the first time every time, but the more you practice it the better you will become.... Share a GIF in the comments below and let me know how you feel about resolving conflict in the workplace.

22.01.2022 Isnt it tiring when youre leading change and at every turn, youre met with resistance ? Especially when you realise that the biggest resistance is from members within your team that need to deliver that change. Its hard to drive towards your vision when nobodys on the bus . To make sure you get everybody on board, here are my top 3 tips:... Engage with your team about the vision and help them understand their role in achieving it by linking it to whats in it for them Provide certainty as much as you can by listening to their questions and clarifying the details they seek Determine the best approach to communicate with your team members based on their natural preferences. A model such as Extended DISC is perfect for better understanding those who are happy to jump on board straight away and those who need time and convincing before they are comfortable with it. Watch the video below (2 mins 32 secs) to hear more. To find out more about Extended DISC, the link is in comments below

21.01.2022 Do you sometimes leave a conversation with a team member knowing at the pit of your stomach that what you just communicated didnt land ? But youre too busy to go through it yet again, so you cross your fingers that it will all be ok . If this has happened to you, then you might be making one of these 3 common mistakes: You dont adapt your style of communication to suit the other person.... Youre not asking the person to repeat back what they heard. Youre not fully present to the conversation. Find out how to avoid these mistakes by watching the video below (2 mins 50 secs).

21.01.2022 Would you like to know how to stop feeling overwhelmed by the tasks you have to juggle and struggling to keep up with your increased workload? Are you keen to open up the next level of initiative and empowerment in yourself so you can feel confident that you can handle any challenge you might face at work and home, with specific tools to help you identify the change you can make to achieve your desired outcomes? Then this might be for you!... Last year I spent months bringing together an online coaching program that allows me to impact more leaders, which will have a ripple effect that will impact more people in the workforce and families at home. Its called and is the best of coaching models and methodologies Ive been using for the last 5 years to get outstanding results for leaders just like you. Earlier this year we had an amazing group of leaders join the first round of this course and they loved it! They learnt how to: Manage their own mindset and in turn, help others through these challenging times; Find more time to focus on strategic projects because they have built a better system to support them and their teams; Bring out the best in themselves and their people which will result in more accountability and initiative; and Feel confident in their ability as a leader to put forward solutions to their own problems, rather than waiting for someone else to direct them. If youre curious to find out more, click the link below, comment or send me a message. Id really appreciate you sharing this link with your colleagues, teams and networks and recommend the program to any leaders you know who could benefit. 20.01.2022 This week I'm responding to a question that Karen asked me on the Inspiring Success Facebook page. Karen said, "how do you best deal with your current workload and then how do you deal with more as it piles on top?" Sound familiar? Here are my top three tips. ... Set yourself a meeting every single Monday morning for the first 30 to 60 minutes of your day that is uninterrupted. In this, fully focus on reconnecting to the bigger picture and what it is you need to achieve in your role so that you can align your to-do list priorities with it (see tip #2). Every single day you set your top three priorities that align back to that vision or the outcome or the KPI or whatever it is that you need to achieve and make sure that those three items are completed as a priority over and above everything else. Set healthy boundaries around your time. If you accept every meeting invite you receive without questioning it, if you have an open-door policy or a phone that rings hot all day, you are letting everyone else know their time is more important than yours. I'm not saying don't do any of that, rather make sure you block time for you to get to your work so you can stop being the bottleneck. Try these tips for at least a week and see what difference it makes . Can you do me a favour and hit reply to let me know if you also struggle with being able to manage your time or juggling competing priorities? I'm keen to know if Karen isn't the only person facing this challenge.

17.01.2022 Its probably one of the most important roles you have as a leader, and yet it can tend to cause you to feel apprehensive if you need to deliver news that might not be well received. Feedback. Its so important we do this and do it well because it makes our jobs so much easier - it helps improve the engagement levels of our teams and it helps to produce the results we want .... Here are my top 3 tips on how to give feedback: Make it a habit to give your team both positive and constructive feedback regularly. Dont be the leader that only talks to your team member when they have done something wrong. Be honest and give specific examples. This helps your team member to put the feedback in context and allows them the opportunity to ask questions. Become really curious about why they did the way they chose to. Ask questions with an open mind. Chances are every now and then their feedback will highlight a gap in your process or system that you can improve for everyone. Watch the video below (2 mins 53 secs) to hear more.

15.01.2022 What do you love the most about being a leader?

15.01.2022 What are the top 3 traits of a great leader?

15.01.2022 One of the things I love the most about consulting with businesses is the relationship I form with the business owner and their whole team. Im driven by connection and because of that, I am all in when it comes to achieving results for the business when there is a match between their values and mine. Dont get me wrong, as a coach and mentor, at times I need to give some tough love but its done knowing with a deep sense of certainty what each leader is capable o...f. And watching them shine is one of the best feelings there is!

09.01.2022 Do you feel frustrated by juggling a huge workload and just wish your team could take it off you to give you some breathing space ? But you know delegating it will take FOREVER and you just dont have the bandwidth to do it, so youre left with the responsibility squarely on your shoulders? Delegation doesnt have to be hard .... Here are my top 3 tips to make it easier for you: Decide on the structure or system that needs to be created so you dont have to keep reinventing the wheel. Yes, it will take time upfront by that investment will be worth it in the long run. Talk about what needs to be done, not how it needs to be done. When you slip into the how, you can fall into the trap of micro-managing your team. Empower them to do what you recruited them to do. Set clear expectations. Discuss what complete looks like, when its due, how its due and what they need to do if they run into any challenges. Watch the video below (2 mins 08 secs) to hear more.

05.01.2022 I loved this show as a kid. I couldnt wait to get home from school, grab an orange (weird kid right?) and sit down on our retro orange coloured couch to watch this. Little did I know that zoom style screen was going to become a reality of life a few decades on

04.01.2022 So my kids bought me an Apple Watch for my birthday. Clearly, I need to work on getting better at knowing who I am replying to when using voice to text
