08.01.2022 Oakdale Public School students had a fun time raising their career aspirations at a recent ITF Whats My Line event. Students asked yes/no questions to six volunteers in order to guess their occupation. After revealing what they do, the volunteers interacted with the students to share more about their job and the importance of literacy and numeracy in their daily work. One teacher said that it is important for students to have one-on-one contact with women with various career paths who all convey strengths and resilience. 03.01.2022 We had a great day in Liverpool on Tuesday hosting an Inspiring Women event for over 200 female students from eight different schools in South West Sydney! The students informally interacted with 30 female workforce volunteers, mostly representing typically male-dominated industries. The students enjoyed learning about different career pathways and received some valuable advice regarding ways to self-manage their future and how to respond positively to challenges they can expect to face, especially in relation to being a female in the workforce. Thank you to the Mayor of Liverpool, Wendy Waller, for her inspiring opening address, to all the volunteers for sharing their stories and to Amazon Web Services for sponsoring the event! #AWSInCommunities
