25.01.2022 One of the lovely visiting stallions who has spent two weeks with us learning to jump the phantom and be collected without a mare. This has been done to enable the stallion owner to offer him for chilled semen this coming breeding season without the need to take him out of training; as he will be able to be brought as a walk on to be collected and shipped while he can go back to work. This young Stallion has had two collections with a mare alongside. This was his first jump ...without a mare for teasing or jumping. Pretty pleased with how well he has learnt what happens in the breeding barn. He had live covered a couple of mares, sometimes this presents as a slight problem with the stallion being willing to jump an inanimate object. But with a strong libido it can be overcome. Cool As An Acre

21.01.2022 Intense concentration on something. One of the visiting mares, I think she is waiting for dinner.

19.01.2022 So excited! We were trusted to freeze some brilliant stallions this season. Tonight we did our first preg test on the test breed for one of the stallions into my paint mare. Half a dose (4 straws) inseminated 3 hours post ovulation. I am super happy! First frozen baby from semen that I froze and inseminated.

19.01.2022 Mares scanned, yearlings feet done, horses wormed. Time to feed. Some photos from this afternoon, smashing my 10,000 steps today.

If you require some feed over the weekend, Happy Horse have it in stock in Ballarat. We also have some available for our direct delivery clientele. Exciting news! From Monday Show Plus will be back on the menu! Olympus Feeds creating healthy horses from the inside out! Gut health is vital for the overall and vitality of your horse.

17.01.2022 A short introduction to one of the most important mares on the property! This is Frappacino. She is our tease mare, worth her weight in gold. She is patient with the stallions and will tell them if they get OTT with teasing. She stands solid as a rock next to the phantom for the stallions to learn to jump and be collected. ... Frappacino has had her ovaries removed so she shows like she is in season when we need her. Love this young lady. She is the sweetest mare.

16.01.2022 We welcome Hillbrae Annalise to our farm. She is a 16.3hh warmblood mare. Boasting some amazing bloodlines. Her sire being the imported Polish stallion ‘Trak’ out of the beautiful mare Lusian 2, her grand sire is the sensational Stirling Luther. ‘Annie’ is going in foal to Noble Shadow Baroque Horse’s imported Lustiano stallion Lucio Do Rei. We are so very honoured and frightfully lucky to have been given such an opportunity as this to produce a true English performance horse. Thank you to Noble Shadow Stud and Deborah for making this wish come true.

16.01.2022 It’s no wonder the mare’s cycles are all over the place. Spring snow showers!?

16.01.2022 Our new old tractor. Hopefully we can get our hay cut now. 1955 Fordson. It’s a dear old girl.

15.01.2022 When mare owners tell me how excited they are for their shipments and the hopeful resulting foal I really do understand. Some mare owners say, ‘oh you must think I’m being silly’. Oh guys no I don’t!! This is me with my shipment I received in for one of my mares! I was skipping to the breeding barn to inseminate my mare. Fingers and toes crossed for a positive to Cats Got Style in 16 days!!!

15.01.2022 Our Gypsy x foal! Looking forward to this one. Sire is the gorgeous Hermits Quicksilver out of a beautiful gypsy x mare ‘Smudge’ (aka Molly). Super happy and thankful to everyone that has enabled this to happen. Thank you Leanne and Dana.

13.01.2022 The skin markings on our young Appaloosa colt. It’s so cool how they have different coloured skin.

13.01.2022 FMM Zip N Doc and Peppys Clover Doc looking fabulous.

12.01.2022 Another positive pregnancy test to semen that we collected, tested, froze and inseminated. Super happy! Even better when stallion owners are happy as well. Congratulations Brenda Kalms and Kilcorran Ukanali for their first frozen baby into Noelle’s lovely mare.

12.01.2022 This is ‘Morgan’ the famous little black horse that could. He is staying with us to help bring the mares into season. Kindly loaned to us by our vet and her gracious daughter. Young Morgan is an accomplished sporting horse, who actually can do pretty much anything (I’ve witnessed this ‘little’ horse with a huge heart jump clear around 1.10m tracks). He is now living a retired life for a while with my mares. They say it takes a community to raise a child, but it also takes a community to ensure a successful breeding operation with the key players being regarded professionals in their respective fields.

11.01.2022 Installing the EcoRaster flooring into the stables. Makes cleaning them a lot easier.

10.01.2022 Finally think I’ve found the winning combination for feed! #olympusfeedsaustralasia and #blackhorsenaturals. This mare is being fed hay, harmony and half the recommended amount of Advance once a day. Look at the shine and the condition of her coat.... Regular worming and teeth done annually. She has strong hardy feet and a wonderful level headed temperament. Feeding the right combination or the right complete feed always ends up cheaper in the end.

10.01.2022 We welcome Danson Ariella to our farm! By Anton out of Belcam Goldrush (Grannus II). Lovely Penny is 16hh of pure presence. She is going in foal to Silverline Elite for a warmblood Morgan cross. Welcome to the farm Penny, we so thankful to have been given this opportunity.

08.01.2022 I think I’ve outgrown my little incubator. Time for an upgrade.

07.01.2022 QXH Cutta So Smart confirmed in foal to Ducktallic. So excited!!

07.01.2022 Weaning has started and is going fairly smoothly for our little ones. Larry (Drovers Romance x Brodan Ima Designer Doc) and Lilo (Ricinda Mr Magic (dec) x Stetson Ellie May) both taking it in their strides. Both very motivated by food and interested in this person that scratches all the itchy places. Had a rope all over them both today, won’t be long before haltering will be a non event. ... Larry has been sold (chestnut overo). Lilo is a keeper at this stage. However, has been promised to a lovely young rider if she wants her in the future.

06.01.2022 When your horses are too friendly. Lol You never get a good photo.

06.01.2022 So what did you do this afternoon? We spent it test freezing a stallion. Just about to cut the top and check motility. Next stage, test breed to ascertain if the semen will continue to get pregnancies.

05.01.2022 ‘Rumour Has It’ Ricinda Mr Magic x Greenbank’s Peekaminki Yearling paint colt. SOLD ... He looks great being out of the hill.

05.01.2022 Young Larry. 2 months old. He’s such a dude.

05.01.2022 One of our foals from last year. Indecent proposal. (Ultimate Intentions x Diamond FMM Zip N Doc) Growing up to be a gorgeous young filly. She’s going look gorgeous haltering this year.

04.01.2022 Exciting news today. Our young Warmblood mare Danson Ariella has been confirmed in foal to Silverline Elite. Due February 2022. This is going to be a pretty sweet looking youngster.

04.01.2022 We use Olympus for all of our horses. Now offering consistent production and delivery. We love the inner health and outer glow that Olympus Feeds offers all our horses.

04.01.2022 Lil Ms Honkytonk getting some loving and education today.

04.01.2022 So excited to get our Sign Ur Neigh’m parcel today! We won the rug in a raffle with the Victorian Paint Horse Association! The halters are for our paint and Appaloosa colt. Wonderful workmanship! I’ll take more photos when I put everything on the ponies. Thank you Sign Ur Neigh’m and VPHA.

04.01.2022 Two final preg tests. 42 day positive to Ducktallic. So happy to see these mares holding. Looking forward to seeing them in August for a check and if they are still in foal seeing what they produce. Two 28 day positive. One wet mare to Ducktallic and one to Mia Hell Cat. The mares are glowing! ... With every positive sometimes there are also negative preg tests. 2 come up negative for a 16 day and one is a recheck on Monday. Only 5 more on farm to breed. Two for My Shining Ashwood, one to Mia Hell Cat, one to Ducktallic and finally one to FP Sniper.

01.01.2022 Persistence is the key! We’ve had a visiting mare here whom I believe the owners have been trying for a few years to get in foal. Well today it was confirmed! She is in foal. The photos below are from Monday night to Wednesday night to show the size of the bubble!! ... Super happy owners and stallion owner. We are thrilled to have been part of this journey.

01.01.2022 something tells me we are getting to the end of breeding season. Feeding 22 horses and a further 13 out in the paddocks eating oaten hay!
