23.01.2022 So it's Friday the 13th today and things are not as they seem at Lake Mason homestead! This abandoned station property lies in the West Australian goldfields about 50 kilometres from the nearest small town. What will we find inside?
23.01.2022 Winter = mulled wine season! On a chilly night in the goldfields we decided to try making mulled wine over the campfire. We used a 5 litre bag of dry red cask wine (goon), 5 oranges, four cinnamon sticks, about 12 star anise, around 20 cloves, and 200ml of brandy. Oh! And a fair old whack of honey. There was so much wine that it had to be spread across two camp ovens! Let this warm by the fire for an hour or so being careful not to get it too hot (alcohol vaporizes at somewhe...re around 60 degrees) The end result was a delicious night, and one hell of a hangover #mulledwine #australiasgoldenoutback #menzies #lakeballard #camping #campfire
21.01.2022 We're about half way through Jakes 1000km bike ride on YouTube and it's getting pretty real out there.
20.01.2022 The third part of Jakes bicycle adventure is up on YouTube today. This one covers from somewhere past Dwellingup and into Collie, probably a third the way into his 1000km ride.
