25.01.2022 Simple ways to keep your money safe online Continuing from National Scams Awareness Week last month, Australian Red Cross, Credit Union Australia (CUA) and Infoxchange have launched new free training courses to help people look after their money online. This involves how to identify and avoid scams, an all-too-common hazard of online money management that often affects the most vulnerable.... The partnership provides free practical, face-to-face and online courses for all Australians, to help boost financial and social outcomes in the community. 24.01.2022 This week we ran the first session of our Interchange Enteral Feeding Training Course The course comprised of both a theoretical & practical component, covering the NDIS training requirements as well as giving our support workers the chance to do some hands on learning! The day was facilitated by Jacinda, a Registered Nurse with a Masters in Nursing, who has lots of experience in teaching & training as well as being the parent of an Interchange participant! It was great ...having Jacinda here to pass on her knowledge as well as her lived experience to the class. Simone from Abbott FreeGo Pump Systems also visited the class to demonstrate how to use a pump system, which was a great opportunity for the class to get some hands on time with the equipment. We had several members of our workforce attend, with positive feedback for the course all-round. We look forward to holding more training like this in the near future, and staying committed to building the skills of our workforce so they can continue to do the amazing support work they do in our community. Great job everybody!

20.01.2022 Last month we concluded our four week training program focusing on building skills & knowledge in our workforce specific to the disability industry. Some of the training topics included: assisting participants safely, using & administering midazolam, mental health, privacy & dignity, COVID-19 infection control and many more! Our amazing team of support workers together completed over 300 modules, which is more than 200 hours of training combined ... As an incentive for putting so much hard work in, we offered weekly prizes of vouchers for those who had completed the most training, and then a lucky draw of a Samsung Galaxy Tablet during the big finale The lucky winner of the tablet was Blake Wells, and as he actually already owned a tablet he decided to donate it to an Interchange family. A very lovely thing of Blake to have done, and a great effort by all of our dedicated workforce!
