25.01.2022 The simple things in life here equals job satisfaction. Another fine example of receiving a few boxes of parts, a set of hubs and rims and getting it all together in the workshop. 22.01.2022 *This post was intended as both a heads up about the bike and a warning about fraud. These people have committed a serious crime. It is not about what we did. We arent the criminals. Any hateful comments, or comments implying that we are in the wrong for providing a PROFESSIONALLY conducted business service that is both COMMON and LEGAL, will be removed. Thank you to those who have shown support.* Please be on the look out for the bike pictured below. It was purchased from... us with a stolen credit card. The criminal came into the shop under the guise of it being a gift for him from his parents, who would then call us to pay over the phone. An older man with an accent, possibly European, then rang within an hour or so. Peter did everything required of him to complete the transaction, only to have Westpac contact him 2 days later saying they would be taking the payment as they do not cover fraudulent, over the phone transactions. Our bad luck apparently to be left without the bike, having to pay our supplier for it and the bank behaving with their usual level of morality. Just what we dont need after a trying year. Peter will be making a police report today. If you hear about anyone selling or riding this bike, please contact Peter asap. Cheers See more

17.01.2022 Police are seeking to identify the owners of three stolen bikes that were recovered at a Tea Tree Gully home. About 2.45pm on Friday 31 July, a man used a trans...port MetroCard to access the bicycle storage cage at the Klemzig bus interchange. The man cut the locks to two bicycles, and with the assistance of two other men, steals the two bicycles. The suspect immediately catches a bus to the Paradise interchange and at 2.55pm, steals a third bicycle from the bicycle storage cage in the same manner. At 12.50pm on Monday 3 August, police will allege the same man returned to the Klemzig bus interchange and swiped a MetroCard to again access the bicycle storage cage. The suspect, along with another man, cuts a bike free from its locks and also steals another unlocked bicycle, taking both bicycles. Officers from the Public Transport Crime Team investigating the thefts were able to identify the main suspect from CCTV. He was arrested in St Agnes on 17 August. Police conducted a search of his home but were not able to locate the stolen bikes. However, officers did locate three other bicycles which they believe are stolen. At this time, police have not been able to identify the bikes’ owners. Images of the three recovered bikes are included below and anyone who recognises them is asked to contact Crime Stoppers South Australia on 1800 333 000. A 41-year-old man from Tea Tree Gully was arrested and charged with five counts of theft and breach of bail. He will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 3 September. Investigations are continuing.

09.01.2022 Today we tragically lost a true champion and gentleman in Kieran Modra. Peter travelled the world with him for many years with the paralympic team as his mechanic. Kieran always made time to come into the shop to say hello and reminisce about the countries they visited and the good times they had. Our heartfelt condolences to his wife Kerry and his 3 daughters. He was an outstanding ambassador for cycling and our country. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him right around the world.

04.01.2022 If you wheelie love your bike, dont get too tyred about securing it. Opportunistic thieves target unsecured bikes from sheds, yards and even bicycle parking b...ays if not locked properly. You can reduce your chances of becoming a victim of bike theft by following these crime prevention security tips: Take a photograph of your bike and then complete a Bike Passport with all the details about your bike and keep it in a safe place. Visit here to download the Bike Passport: https://www.police.sa.gov.au//Bike-Passport-Electronic-Ver Engrave or mark your bike frame (near the serial number) with an ultraviolet (UV) pen, microdot or by other permanent means with your drivers licence number prefixed by the letter S for South Australia, e.g. S123456. Engrave or mark all your accessories, including helmet, lights, pump, saddle, etc. in the same way. When at home, secure your bike in a locked shed or inside your house; dont leave it in sight in your yard or driveway. Purchase and fit a good quality bike lock such as a D or U style lock. Your bicycle dealer may be able to assist you in choosing your lock. Always park and secure your bike in well-lit and populated areas when out and about. Always lock the bike frame and both wheels to a secure object. When securing your bike, remove equipment including helmet, lights, pump and other accessories. Never leave your bike unattended or unlocked, even for a short time. Reminder: You can head over to the Tour Village and meet the Road Safety Education Team who will engrave your bike for free. Find them at the Teams Zone Tent between 3pm and 4pm today and tomorrow. Bike engraving acts as a deterrent to would-be thieves, and increases the chances of returning your beloved bike when located. #TDU #tourdownunder #sapolice
