25.01.2022 Things are starting to move fast with pools reopening. We are keeping a close eye on developments and will keep everyone up to date as soon as we have any news. In the meantime staff are all working hard behind the scenes getting ready for a grand reopening and working on dream projects we’ve never had time for! ... The water is all we need

23.01.2022 Water we know to be true? Like us, you've probably been feeling like a fish-outta-water these past couple of months! We're as happy as clams to announce that we’ll be slowly re-opening, starting with our afternoon classes from next Tuesday, the 23rd of June! . Snapper up your spot by emailing us at [email protected] . Sea you soon!... Sasha x See more

22.01.2022 Part 1 in our new series - TEACH YOUR CHILD TO SWIM How to build trust & confidence with your child in the water.

22.01.2022 Due to many children missing out on swimming lessons this term we will be releasing a series of instructional videos for parents on some great activities to do in the water helping you teach your children how to swim! https://youtu.be/EbZ14-h_IsA

22.01.2022 Since 2007, In The Deep has been passionate about protecting and empowering children, not only in our own environment, but also those who are most vulnerable throughout the world. We're honoured to be able to sponsor children through the organisation, World Vision (https://www.worldvision.org/) Over the years we've sponsored a total of 12 children. Currently, we're sponsoring five absolutely beautiful kids. Three are living in Myanmar, one in Vietnam and one in Rwanda. We love how involved World Vision allow their sponsors to be and personally love writing birthday and Christmas cards to all the kids! It's so special to regularly receive their letters, photos and cards a true joy that I'd love to share with you all, with a few cards that recently came our way!

20.01.2022 With the NSW State Government now preparing us for a shut down of all non essential services, we will be ending lessons today at 12 noon for this term. Staff will be in touch via email to all our incredible families. It has been a whirlwind of the unknown over the last week and not unexpected that this was likely to occur.... An unfortunate however necessary decision for our government and we are ready to do all we can to support our city and also all of our customers through what lies ahead. Sending love and prayers to you all Our hearts are swimming with you all the way through this. We will keep in touch and await the end of this season with anticipation of many pool days ahead. Love Sasha and all of the brilliant In The Deep Team XXX

17.01.2022 So glad to have the Brauer AOP purification system at our pool. Not only best purification out there but also keeps our air chemical free so we can all breathe easy

14.01.2022 Ah the water, it brings us out of our shells . It sets us free . Under the water, its like another world... . I adore watching how the water brings kids to life . Especially after being at school all day . Here they can move, they can dance, they can flap their wings . They can twirl, they can dive deep, they can sing with their movement, be free . Let’s move, let’s play, let’s dive in and have some fun because the water sets us free . Free to express ourselves . Free to have a go . Free to be different . Free to go at our own pace . Free to take our time . Free to be a little scared . Free to have a bad day . Free to have a good belly laugh . Free to be our best . and Free to celebrate . . . #adventuresofchildren #kidswhoexplore #freetobeme #letsswim #loveswimming #knowyourwhy #easternsuburbs See more

14.01.2022 How great are our lifeguards who’ve made it so easy for us to navigate where to swim on our patrolled beaches! . It can be a little overwhelming going to a non-patrolled beach and picking a safe place to dive on in . Water doesn't always behave the way we expect it to, and it’s never worth the guess.... . Not only do our lifeguards pick the safest place away from rips, but these spots always have the best waves and are the most fun! Just watch where the surfers go when the flags come down! . This weekend, love those flags and have a beach of a day! . . . . . #thewaterisallweneed #justkeepswimming #taketheplunge #sydneyswimspots #inthedeepswimschool #weloveswimming #waterisourhappiness #oceansidesydney #easternsuburbs #sydney #australia #sydneylocal #sydneylife #seeksimplicity #loveswimming #swimcoach #swim #swimmer #instaswim #friyay #swimminglessons See more

14.01.2022 We're eagerly waiting for some more details regarding the requirements for swim schools to be able to re open. Missing the pool and our swimmers terribly and just can't wait to get back into the water with you all!

10.01.2022 Desperate times..... creates very funny videos Hope we can all get back in the water soon

10.01.2022 Hello dear friends, . As we navigate this unprecedented situation together I wanted to pause for a moment and send some virtual-hugs your way . No doubt you're at a bit of a loss as to what the impact will be to all of us in the coming weeks and months, as we prepare for the worst and hope for the best.... . My heart breaks for our community right now, not feeling safe, not knowing what's ahead and the constant fear evident in the depleting and bare shelves across the country. . We’re still going strong here at In The Deep, with our clean, spacious environment, anti-viral essential oils, super strength hand sanitiser, conscious staff members, and better-than-chlorinated AOP filtration system. . We’ll just keep swimming and laughing and supporting everyone through this! (At some point the swimming may turn more metaphorical; we’ll keep you posted!) . We’re confident we’ll navigate this new challenge, knowing we’ll get through this together as a community and come out stronger, more aware and compassionate to the needs of others, more appreciative of the resilience of our incredible country, more passionate about the importance of our health (and perhaps a bit cleaner ) than ever before! . In case you missed it, we’re offering unlimited make up lessons for anyone enrolled in lessons for the entire year. We humbly thank you for supporting our small business and others like ours through this surreal wave of a ride. . Love and health to you all X Sasha . 07.01.2022 Its been a while now since we've been swimming.... Ah I think we need a song to cheer us up? This song is dedicated to all the small & big fish out there who have been stuck out of the water for just way too long.... ... A big shout out to all the swim schools across Australia eagerly hoping that we will be back in the water soon, doing what we love the most, teaching our little Aussie fish how to flourish in the water making it their most favourite place in the world! Missing all our little fishies, hope this lifts your spirits and gets you singing in the bath until we sea you at the pool soon X Sasha

05.01.2022 Our last week of lessons looked a little different...! Despite the quiet and the strangeness of it all, there were some things I LOVED. I wanted to capture this moment as I know it's one we'll reminisce about as the time things changed in our world forever. . It began with amping up our cleaning regime. Cleaning has not been the most enthusiastically embraced task at the pool but thanks to 'Rona, everyone's tune sure did change! How we stepped up makes me so proud just look... at those sparkly pool toys. I'll happily embrace this as the new norm. . We then took away those sparkling clean toys Haha, I actually loved this as we had to get creative. I'm in agreement with Lawrie Laurence the water is the toy. It's *the* most fun thing of them all. . Then came the social distancing at first, so very weird. We had spaced apart seating, and not so many cuddles with our kids... and our huddles well we need to come up with a new word for those! You may've noticed at the start of our afternoon and weekend shifts, staff gather together in a huddle. Together we soak up some inspo from the supervisor, catch up on any special things we need to consider for the week, talk through team messages and get some directions for lessons. The last week we held our huddle 1.5 metres apart from each other. Yes it felt weird and something I'm sure we'll never forget. Still, we let nothing ruin our enthusiasm and seeing kids still arrive for lessons kept us all positive. . I knew it was likely a shut down would eventually arrive, however it happened so fast, didn't it?! . I want to especially thank Paul, the manager of the Souths Fitness Centre. Paul is such a legend and supporter of In The Deep that we really wouldn't be here without him. When I grow up I want to be just like Paul, haha! I had to get a photo with the gym guys and our final day team, as who knows when we'll see each other again... . In the meantime, take care! 04.01.2022 I absolutely love teaching kids how to swim and now that I'm not in the water as much, I’m rather consumed with building a great swim school! One of our major goals is to develop a new generation of incredible swim teachers, and build the best team in the swim industry! 2020 is our year to embark upon this challenge In The Deep teachers are special.... They carry our values and heart to build community through swimming. We want children who cross our path to be empowered with beautiful swimming skills that will help them love the water and pursue swimming as a lifestyle. To start off on this challenge for the year, in January I took a team of our teacher trainers away to the Hunter Valley. We did lots of goal-setting, workshopping, spoke about the qualities that make an amazing teacher, we dug deep into levels of skill development, we affirmed our never-stop-learning culture and had some fun water training sessions in this incredible pool and view. Unfortunately I was super sick with the flu, but we still managed to have a great time, spent more time getting to know each other and prepare ourselves mentally to train, develop and mentor all of our future teachers. We’re currently looking for our next wave of teachers too! Interested or know someone who’d be a great fit? Swim over here! https://inthedeepau.bamboohr.com/jobs/view.php?id=3 Sea you in the water? 02.01.2022 We're thinking of our fellow Aussies, down in Victoria at this time. Hoping that they're able to open their swim schools soon. We know what it's like being out of the water and our hearts and prayers are with the Swimming community down south https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnKuoWqDXy8
