19.01.2022 The headspace Darwin Aboriginal Youth Reference Group (hDAYRG) is a group of committed Aboriginal people aged between 15 and 25 who have a keen interest in ment...al health. As a committee, their role includes advising headspace on youth related matters, having input into how headspace can improve services for Aboriginal young people and participating in health and wellbeing training to become stronger advocates for Aboriginal people and mental health. There are a number of ways for you to be involved in hDAYRG, including: Advocate for Aboriginal people Discuss mental health and issues facing the community Participate in research and evaluation of headspace services Consultation around resource development such as factsheets, brochures, radio adverts etc. to ensure they are culturally appropriate By getting involved you will: Have the opportunity to have your say in designing and direct youth mental health services in the Greater Darwin region Develop a range of new skills Meet and work alongside other young people who are passionate about Aboriginal mental health Have input into how headspace Darwin and other health services can improve engagement with Aboriginal people. headspace Darwin will provide training to support your involvement at events.

Darwin celebrated National Youth Homelessness Matters Day this morning with som...e hotly contested rounds of Couch Surfing. The annual event, which aims to raise awareness for youth homelessness, attracted a fantastic crowd...and some very jazzy couches! The event is proudly supported by Anglicare NT, headspace Darwin, LAUNCH Darwin, Aboriginal TV4, Radio Larrakia, CatholicCare NT and City of Darwin.
