23.01.2022 Appreciation is the first step to manifesting your desires!

23.01.2022 Hello, I hope everyone out there is keeping as safe and healthy as possible. I’ve had a couple of people ask about InTouch and so I thought I’d let you know what’s happening here. I am currently following the National Guidelines provided by the Department of Health, who are still encouraging business as usual within Australia. I will stay open for the time being and your regular appointments don’t need to be changed. Some of the measures I have undertaken to minimise risk ...of transmission, ensuring you remain safe in a healthy, inclusive environment include the increased cleaning and disinfecting of all contact surfaces after every client. I’ll greet you at the door with a smile just as I always have, but I’ll also ask that you use the hand sanitiser provided upon entry. Sadly, no hugs or hand shakes allowed! My policy on colds and flus has always been that if you have a cold or flu, you cannot have a treatment until 5 days have passed since initial symptoms. This policy won’t change. Additionally, As per the National Guidelines provided by the Department of Health Currently, you DO NOT meet the COVID-19 diagnostic criteria if you have not travelled internationally, or have not had any contact with someone confirmed to have Coronavirus. If you meet the above criteria or have any symptoms of a cold or flu please let me know within 24 hours of your appointment time. Please don’t email or use messenger, you will need to speak to me to cancel. Lastly, I’ve always maintained freshly laundered towels for every client and this will simply continue, plus I’ll also keep laundering them on a medical wash that treats towels with a high temperature. And take care of you, of those around you, and of those in your community who may need help, a phone call, or just to know someone else out there feels the way they do. Stay informed from reliable sources, don’t panic buy, and try to stay calm in the face of constant media. After all, we’re all in this together. These are unusual times and now, more than ever, we need to practice kindness as much as we practice caution. Warm wishes, Love, Alan.

18.01.2022 So proud to be able to work a little essential oil magic for Company of Rogues latest production. A blend designed to take you to the rural setting of their play Boy Out of the Country. Its their first preview tonight and I cant wait to be at opening night tomorrow to experience it myself. Please come and support this great Indy theatre work at the Bondi Pavilion Theatre - May 9-25 - tickets at www.companyrogues.com. And let me know what you think of the scent!

18.01.2022 Something to think about.

18.01.2022 Thrilled to be a major sponsor of Company of Rogues Pioneer Play Festival - InTouch has donated $500 to help make their dream of establishing a new playwriting competition in Western Sydney a reality. I did it by donating to their Australian Cultural Fund Campaign, where every dollar donated is tax-deductible. Theyre trying to raise just $2000 of their original target, and a little more would be a huge blessing! Please consider helping Robbi and his new project! https://australianculturalfund.org.au//pioneer-play-festi/

17.01.2022 Think of your poor feet!

15.01.2022 Chondromalacia Patella (Patellofemoral Syndrome) Chondromalacia patella facts Chondromalacia patella is the most common cause of chronic knee pain.... Chondromalacia patella has also been called patellofemoral syndrome. The pain of chondromalacia patella is aggravated by activity or prolonged sitting with bent knees. Abnormal "tracking" allows the kneecap (patella) to grate over the lower end of the thighbone (femur), causing chronic inflammation and pain. Treatment involves improving the alignment of the patella during contraction of the thigh muscle. What is the chondromalacia patella? Chondromalacia patella is abnormal softening of the cartilage of the underside the kneecap (patella). It is a cause of pain in the front of the knee (anterior knee pain). Chondromalacia patella is one of the most common causes of chronic knee pain. Chondromalacia patella results from degeneration of cartilage due to poor alignment of the kneecap (patella) as it slides over the lower end of the thighbone (femur). This process is sometimes referred to as patellofemoral syndrome. What causes chondromalacia patella? The patella (kneecap) is normally pulled over the end of the femur in a straight line by the quadriceps (thigh) muscle. Patients with chondromalacia patella frequently have abnormal patellar "tracking" toward the lateral (outer) side of the femur. This slightly off-kilter pathway allows the undersurface of the patella to grate along the femur, causing chronic inflammation and pain. Certain individuals are predisposed to develop chondromalacia patella: females, knock-kneed or flat-footed runners, or those with an unusually shaped patella undersurface. What are the symptoms and signs of chondromalacia patella? The symptoms of chondromalacia patella are generally a vague discomfort of the inner front of the knee, aggravated by activity (running, jumping, climbing or descending stairs) or by prolonged sitting with knees in a moderately bent position (the so called "theater sign" of pain upon arising from a desk or theater seat). Some patients may also have a vague sense of "tightness" or "fullness" in the knee area. Occasionally, if chronic symptoms are ignored, the associated loss of quadriceps (thigh) muscle strength may cause the leg to "give out." Besides an obvious reduction in quadriceps muscle mass, mild swelling of the knee area may occur. How is chondromalacia patella diagnosed? Chondromalacia patella is suspected in a person with anterior knee pain, especially in teenage females or young adults. With manual compression of the kneecap while the quadriceps muscle is tightened, there can be pain. This is referred to as the positive "shrug" sign. Generally, there is no associated swelling (knee joint effusion). X-rays or MRIs may be done to confirm the inflammation on the posterior part of the patella. 14.01.2022 Im always fascinated to hear about the ways that CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is used to treat injuries. For sports people, particularly those in high impact sports, CST is increasingly being used to get back on the field and back to playing at full strength.

11.01.2022 Another great testimonial... Seeing Alan for treatments has made the greatest difference to my health and well-being. I have suffered chronic health problems for seventeen years, including mitochondrial disease, immune and endocrine disorders and fibromyalgia. Also I have had severe neck and back problems since the early nineties plus scoliosis. All of these contributing factors force me, at times, into a very sedentary life which in turn exacerbates my muscular and spinal p...roblems. Whilst other practitioners, including chiropractors, osteopaths and massage therapists, have helped give temporary relief and pain management for short periods of time, Alan has been able to get to the core of the problem and begin an effective treatment plan resulting in immediate and lasting effect. My very first Craniosacral treatment was quite an amazing experience. I felt my spine literally unwind and my neck, which for years had felt jammed out of place with a limited range of movement, became free and supple with a full range of movement. This was almost unbelievable as I had honestly given up on this ever being possible. Further treatments worked to put right my twisted pelvis (one leg shorter than the other), my chronically stiff jaw and the constant ringing in my ears also disappeared. I would like to add that all of these treatments were very pleasant, pain free and relaxing experiences, with the results making an enormous difference to my daily life, my ability to function and to have less down time. I have also seen Alan for remedial massage and dry needling to help with pain relief for fibromyalgia, both of which have been extremely helpful in eliminating pain and allowing me to be more mobile and active. I cannot recommend Alan highly enough. I have been extremely impressed at his depth of knowledge of the human body and the levels to which he has studied in his various healing modalities. His work is really quite extraordinary and is given in a professional yet warm and caring manner in a welcoming space. He truly does have healing hands. Thank you Alan. -Julie Jones

11.01.2022 My word for the next couple of days...

07.01.2022 A stretch to consider!

07.01.2022 On this day of your life, the Angels want us to remember ...that rushing around to fix everything, or to "get ready," is not going to do you more good. Walk, dont run. Move resolutely, but dont rush. Theres a difference.... Rushing removes resolution, often replacing it with mind enduced panic or irrationality, anxiety or, at best, not well thought-out choices. If this is the case at the moment, try this simple technique...Stop what youre doing, move to a quiet place, close your eyes and in your mind breathe in counting to 3 and breathe out counting to five. Big breath in, slow breath out. Do this 5 times or up to 3 minutes. You will feel your body slowing, your shoulders relaxing and your mind clutter clearing. So keep moving. But dont rush. Dont race around. Sure and steady gets you there every time. You know exactly why you received this message today. Blessings, Alan (and the Angels)
