06.01.2022 Runners up after another great year in the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club Youth Match Racing Institute. Our graduation regatta was yesterday, we started a little slow in RR1, but found our stride in RR2. We needed to win our last match to secure the regatta win on countback, but unfortunately our kite halyard separated and left us unable to drop the spinnaker at the bottom gate while leading the race. Thanks and congratulations to the AB Racing team who ended up winning by a point, and were on the layover boat with a decent knife to cut the halyard. A big thank you to Chelsea, Shelley and the club, the volunteers who ran racing, and our coaches Ryan Donaldson and Will Boulden. Also thanks to Vas and Alex who joined us onboard this year. As a World grade 5 event, that will give us some points to add to our World Ranking tally.
